Apogee Jam (firmware 1.5) not connecting to Garageband on iPad 2 (iOS 5.1.1)

Hi,
Have just bought Apogee Jam. Works great with Garageband on iMac. But when trying to use it with Garageband on iPad, it woun't connect; most of the time the blue light is on, but every 15-30 seconds the green light flashes for a second or so.
I have newest version of Garageband, iOS, and firmware for Apogee. Anyone recognizes this problem?
Thanks,
Klaus

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
This solves many problems. Are you sure you have enough space left on the devices to hold the downloads?

  • Creative Zen Micro Firmware problem: "Device not connected, please connect your devi

After an exhausti've search, I've found the fix for losing your firmware and not being able to update it via download from the creative.com. To explain my problem, I had issues with my device connectivity, so I tried to option of reloadinging my firmware via Recovery Mode (option 3, 'Reload Firmware'). After selecting this option, I tried to download and update my firmware via the creative.com website. The module to update my firmware displayed the error message "Device not connected, please connect your device." After about 2 hours of trying various suggested fixes, I found a relati'vely easy fix by running together various suggestions I found for other problems. First rollback your Windows Media Player (WMP) via the instructions found on this page: http://www.auditmypc.com/uninstall-m...layer0beta.asp. Restart your computer after rolling back WMP.
When your compter restarts, insert the "playsforsure" CD labeled "Easy Start CD." Follow the directions for reinstalling WMP. After WMP is reinstalled, restart again. When the computer restarts, return to the CD and follow the directions in the prompt. Reconnect your device when prompted. Once you reconnect your device, it may not function right away. If this is the case, go to the 'Start' button, under 'Control Pannel,' select 'System.' Under 'System' select 'Hardware' and then 'Device Manager.' Find your portable device under 'Uni'versal Serial Bus controllers.' Click on your device and select 'Uninstall' from the small icons at the top of the window. When this is completed, unplug and plug your device back in. After this is done, click on 'Scan for hardware changes,' also a small icon at the top of the window. If your device had the problem mine did, it should now be recognized. Go back to the Creative website and download the latest firmware. The module should now find your player without any problems.
The only thing I can figure is that the "playsforsure Easy Start CD" must have a device driver that solves the problem that you can't find anywhere else. I hope this helps someone out there (tech support was telling me that I was going to have to ship my device back to the company I bought it from to get it exchanged...which would have taken at least a month, I'm sure). Good luck to you all.

For all of you non-technical Micro owners:
I found a fix for this that I hope will help others out.
When I want to Sync tracks to My Zen using Yahoo Jukebox or WMP, I simply reboot my machine with the device PLUGGED IN. After Windows starts up, my applications recognize that the Zen Micro is connected. Good Luck.

  • The iphone could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible, can i get back to ios 7 as iphone 5s or itsnot possible!!!

My iphone 5s and model A1457 and even after i downloaded the IOS 7.1,2 itunes get me error "the iphone could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible"
some people saying that u cant get back and other saying yes u can
i wonder if i still can and how to avoid that error
    IOS 8 Drain battery like **** -.-" & wireless not working well -.-", that's so annoying ...
(if someone got a solution, i would appreciate it, Thx in advance)

You may have to arrange to take the product into an authorized
service agent for the iPhone (or other affected iDevice) to see
if they can apply the correct firmware update, to help resolve the
issue of upgrade; or if they have a way to put it as it was prior to
the attempted upgrade to a later iOS.
See all worldwide telephone support numbers
    Contact a mobile carrier
Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider
    Visit an Apple Retail Store
Pending some release of another update to the iOS, you'd need
to have someone's hands-on effort to correct the issues your
product faces now, before another round of upgrade attempt.
Sorry that I have no exact method to attempt to resolve your issue.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • IPOD NOT CONNECTING TO WIFI AFTER UPDATING TO IOS 8.1.3

I recently updated my ipod touch to ios 8.1.3. after which it stopped connecting to my wifi device saying password is incorrect. Needless to say password was correct and other devices were connecting fine. I restarted device, tried connecting it with other wifi devices (it didnt connect to other devices either) , i reset network setting , erased all contents and reset setting and finally restored ipod to factory setting using itunes but problem is still persisting.. Now I have an ipod without wifi which is pretty useless. Need your help in this regard

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Can not connect to WiFI with IPAD.  Any tips?

Any tips on how to connect to WiFi.  The IPAD does not find WiFI.  I know that is working as I currently have 3 other devices using currently.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • 4s NOT connecting Bluetooth Mercedes or iPad

I have a brand new 4s running iOS6.0.1. The phone initially connected to the bluetooth in the car but dropped out the next time I got in the car. Impossible to get it back on with selecting ” forget this device” and repairing with the car unit with the special pairing password.
Having done that a couple of times it is now NOT connecting or even recognizing there is a device to connect to. Ready to throw it put the window! Extremely disappointing, cannot believe Apple have not got this automatic. I would be better keeping my seven year old Motorola that connected every single time!
Is it the software that is failing it to connect.  The car unit finds other phones OK, so it is not the unit malfunctioning...it is only the iPhone that has the issue ..it just keeps searching??
Having had it connected to the car at one point, it displayed all Contacts and worked just fine, but now it will not find anything... Including my iPad!

  • X3000 firmware v1.05 not connecting to ADSL in Beijing, China

First time poster here, but technical competent. Please go easy...
So I got this modem from a friend. Worked perfectly for her, but refuses to work for me. I am trying to get it to connec to the ADSL2 service here in Beijing. THe network/ISP is China Unicom, and they are either impossible to contact, or with support websites that needs an archeologist to decifer. So far I have established that the service uses the following:
    PPPoE
    ADSL2 (Annex A)
    phone line (with ADSL splitter)
MAC binding (!?) not sure about this.
The Chinese brand modem (TP-Link W89841N and also TL-WR885N) both seem to be able to connect to the internet. Connecting is not super fast, but within 5 min they both connect. However the X3000 just refuses to connect.
I started with the default settings (after resetting the X3000) using the web interface and then played around using a variety of settings to see if something would work, but no luck so far. I usuall wait around 5min to see if it eventually connects.
The thing that has me confused most, is that:
    1. the white internet connectivity LED on the X3000 (2nd from right) is on, solid white.
    2. under the Status page of the router>DSL Connection i see the up/down speed, the connection being indicated as 'up' and all seems ok.
Yet on the Status page itself no IP is ever provided, and no internet connectivity is provided to devices connected to the X3000. If anyone has experience in using this router in China, please let me know. Or if you have any idea what else to try. I think I have exhausted all avenues now...
    thank you

thanks for the quick reply. yes, I have most of these settings and tried to make sense of them (reading them from the Chinese status page on the other router, no access to settings from email or a support page).
However, the good news is, that I managed just now to get it working. So for referenece I think it might be useful to tell you what works, in case others have similar issues (unlikely, as this router/modem is not legally on sale in China):
    1. Firstly, most modems in China connect via RJ-45, not RJ11. I guess its kind of like having a cable router
    2. It appears to make a lot of difference what VPI/VCI settings you use. I tried different ones and I think this is were it may have started working.
    3. I also believe that a lot of China Unicoms ADSL service requires MAC cloning, as they often provide the initial hardware. So this may also be where it finally strated working for me.

  • Downgrade firmware for MAC not connecting

Help still, I have read through all the old posts regarding this downgrade, but really I have maxed myself out doing this and can't even find where to get the downgrade, i went to the FTP directory link in the post but sincerely can't even find it.  I have been at this for days, and really know nothing about any of this including the mac stuff my daughters were the ones to convince me this was the way to go.
Anyway please a link to what i have do to downgrade and get my life back.

  • IPhone 5 does not connect to iPhoto 9.0 after iOS 7.1 update

I have been using iPhoto 9.0 (version 8.1.2) on my Mac to get the photos and videos from my iPhone 5 since I got the phone.  It stopped working today after I updated the iOS on my iPhone to 7.1.  Now when I connect the iPhone to my Mac, the iPhoto thinks there is no photo on the iPhone.  I have tried the hard reset of my iPhone and it did not work.  Any suggestion is welcome.

I have figured it out.  I used iTunes to set up the connection with the iPhone.  iTunes is able to detect iPhone and it triggers iPhone to ask for "whether this device can access your phone" question.  Once that is set, the iPhoto 9.0 can detect the iPhone too.
