Apostrophe glyph does not transfer from CS3 to CS2 by inx

Can someone please confirm this: The Apostrophe glyph does not transfer by inx from CS3 5.0.2(640) to CS2 4.0.5(688).
It does transfer by inx from CS2 4.05(688) to CS1 3.0.1(838).
It also does roundtrip in CS3, CS2, and CS.
This is not a problem for me now that I know about it. I just wanted to report it for the benefit of others, as this is a commonly used character.
I tested this with Times (T1) in a very simple file containing just the apostrophe glyph followed by the lower case "x". These tests were conducted in Tiger 10.4.11.
It seems like it may be related to the similar problem with bullet glyphs that has been mentioned by Sandee and others in this forum.

I can reproduce the report by Klaus of being able to put in the "missing" apostrophe with a text editor. But using TextWrangler I was unable to find the "missing" apostrophe in the CS3 inx by searching for "'" or "0027" (the Unicode value for the apostrophe). Now, since IDCS3 is able to open its own inx including the apostrophe glyph, it must be encoding it in the inx in some special way. Exploring the IDCS2 inx for a test file with the string "CHICKEN 'N WAFFLES" shows that it is saved as "c_CHICKEN"+"&apos"+";N WAFFLES". Then searching from the top for the string "&apos", finds 5 instances of it. While a simillar search for "&apos" in the CS3 inx finds only one instance of it. Clearly IDCS3 and IDCS2 write their inx files differently. No surprise there. Searching the CS3 inx for *parts* of "CHICKEN 'N WAFFLES" locates: <txsr prst="o_u65" crst="o_u62" paln="e_cent" ptfs="c_Medium" ptsz="U_18" font="c_Helvetica"> <pcnt>c_CHICKEN </pcnt> </txsr> <txsr prst="o_u65" crst="o_u62" paln="e_cent" ptfs="c_Medium" ptsz="U_18" ligt="b_f" font="c_Helvetica" OTca="b_f"> <pcnt>e_SSSq</pcnt> </txsr> <txsr prst="o_u65" crst="o_u62" paln="e_cent" ptfs="c_Medium" ptsz="U_18" font="c_Helvetica"> <pcnt>c_N WAFFLES</pcnt> </txsr> Now if I paste in a copy of the lines : <txsr prst="o_u65" crst="o_u62" paln="e_cent" ptfs="c_Medium" ptsz="U_18" font="c_Helvetica"> <pcnt>c_N WAFFLES</pcnt> </txsr> after the first occurrence and save the file from TextWrangler, it will then reopen in IDCS3 with the text string "CHICKEN ''N WAFFLES" (note the two apostrophes). But in the case of the string " 'x" as the only contents of the text frame where the apostrophe *does* transfer from CS3 to CS2 it is encoded this way: <txsr prst="o_u6b" crst="o_u68" ptfs="c_Regular" ptsz="U_18" ligt="b_f" font="c_Times (TT)" OTca="b_f"> <pcnt>c_ '</pcnt> </txsr> <txsr prst="o_u6b" crst="o_u68" ptsz="U_18" font="c_Times (TT)"> <pcnt>c_x</pcnt> </txsr> Note the "&apos" in that code, which is what CS2 is able to import. Conclusion: IDCS3 does indeed save the apostrophe in the inx in a completely different way than IDCS2, and in different ways under different circumstances. So the bug is that Abobe forgot to take into account how the new way of writing the apostrophe would affect IDCS2's ability to import it. Al

Podcast image does not transfer to iPod

I publish a podcast, hosted by Podbean, and when I publish an episode, the image is displayed only in the iTunes player. It does not display with the Podcast in the Podcast Library in iTunes on my PC, nor does it transfer to my iPod. Evidently the image IS "transferred" to iTunes when iTunes picks up the new episode, but it does NOT "transfer" from iTunes to the downloader's machine or iPod. Any ideas of a setting I may be missing, or anything I may be doing wrong?
If it would help to look at the podcasts, they are (1) Alien Nation Student Ministries with Pastor Rob Deveney and (2)NUnity Church of God with Pastor George Moxley.

New info: the artwork IS there when I download directly to my iPod. My issue is obviously with iTunes on my PC. That's better; I was worreid no one who downloaded the podcasts would have the images, but evidently they will if they download direct to iPod. Meanwhile, I'd still like to know what's up with transfers from iTunes to iPod.

Song purchased from itunes wifi does not transfer back to pc in manual mode

Hi one and all....heres a little poser. brought a song from itunes (wifi) but it does not transfer to itunes on the pc when I hook up my ipod touch. I have to manually fill my pod as I have to much groovy music. When I check the music on the pod its there but it does not show when I link it up to itunes...so I cannot even drag it into my music folder..I expect it would work if I was in full sycn mode but too much music . Any ideas??

I purchased songs on two different iTouches at different times. Both iTouches had the same device name. Now I have two Purchased on folders with the same name, each with their respective songs purchased on the seperate iTouches. It looks a little weird.

ITunes often does not transfer "time" from CD

ITunes often does not transfer "time" from the CD -- comes across as "Not available." Other songs on the same CD transfer OK. If there is a "Not available" notation in iTunes, my iPod is unable to play song. Have I "lost" all the previously transferred songs that have "Not available" times? Anyway to recoup them?

There is no support for mirroring or syncing iPhoto libraries or Aperture libraries. You can however export partial Aperture libraries on one mac and merge them into other libraries on a second Mac.
To transfer your edited photos open your photolibrary in Aperture and and collect the edited photos in an album. Then select the album and use the command "File export > Album as new library". This will export all edited photos as a new Aperture library. Copy this library to your other Mac and import it with "File < Import > Library to your other photolibrary on that computer (assuming you are having the same Aperture version on both macs). When merging the new library into your Aperture library, opt to keep the newer versions from the imported library. iPhoto 9.5.1 will be able to open these merged Aperture 3.5.1 libraries.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.

If you put it in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. I have the same problem; used Migration Assistant to transfer all my pix from PC to MacbookPro, however dates of pix were not transferred. Date created as the date of transfer. Cannot sort my pix according to date.

Don't try transferring Adobe software. It rarely works and usually breaks the activation mechanism (150:30 error).
Uninstall, run the Cleaner tool then re-install from scratch.

OK, that's a bit more information.
iMovie was probably already running when you imported the pictures into iPhoto and wasn't aware of the last import.
Try to quit iMovie and iPhoto, then launch iMovie again. The last import should show up.
Please take a few seconds to proof read your posts and also make then easy to read (no large letters, no underlining, no double line breaks in the middle of a sentence etc).

Ovi Suite does not transfer converted video files from PC to my N85.
After dragging, it takes a while to convert the file. Then it shows this message:
"Transfer completed.
1 file successfully transfered to N85
0 files failed"
But in reality, there is no existance of that file in my N85.
I have formated my microSD card, but to no avail.

Could you please provide with some samples of the MP3 files ( 2 or 3 of them).
You could either attach it here or you can upload them on Files on Ovi.
To upload them on Files on Ovi, follow the steps below:
1. Log into Ovi.com
2. Click on files
3. Type in your username and password
For a user who has not set up files on ovi on his computer, it will give an option to download the file connector.
4. Click Download and install the file connector.
5. Then you will find the Sign in to Ovi Files icon in the desktop.
6. Close the browser and then click on Sign in to Ovi Files icon from desktop.
7. It will connect to ovi.com again. Login with username and password.
8. Left pane shows the directory like the windows explorer.
9. Anytime file status will show the respective file/folder
10. Select the file which you want to send and then right click the file and select the option send.
11. Type the email address [email protected]
12. Select the epiration date and then add comments if any.
13. Then select the option to store in anytime file.
The email receipient will receive an email with a link to download the file.
