App Builder doesn't advance - single edition user
I have followed directions identified in the following chain with Neil Enns - Adobe but have not be able to be successful in advancing in DPS app builder.

I've completed building my folio and have chosen 'Create App' from the Folio Builder. When DPS App Builder opens, there's nothing listed under app type/name, despite being signed into DPS app builder with the appropriate Adobe ID. When I select 'New', then 'iPad,' it brings me to a form which I then complete, but DPS App Builder won't go any further when I choose 'next'. I'm a single edition user anxiously trying to submit the app before the may 1st expiration deadline.
I've been chatting with Adobe support, Case # 0186577346, but have not yet had any luck in determining how to fix.
As referenced in Re: Can't advance in DPS App Builder, I launched App Builder from the Folio Builder Panel. I've also closed the Folio Builder panel once DPS app Builder is open, I've restarted my machine, and uninstalled/reinstall DPS app builder.

PROBLEM RRESOLVED
I uninstalled, restarted, and installed as forums indicated. What I found is that DPS App Builder had a default startup window that was showing, so when Adobe InDesign CS6 and told to 'create app,' it was sending data to DPS App Builder, but its default window was negating the data sharing. DPS App Builder didn't have any folio to work from. When I opened DPS App Builder and selected the check box 'do not show at startup,' closed the app, and then told InDesign to 'create app,' again, it was successful. I was able to create icons and splash screens and connect the certificates and move forward from there.

Are there plans to let single edition users publish to the iPhone?
As the owner of a small publishing business, I was very frustrated to find out that only Professional Edition and Enterprise users can publish to the iPhone. I have a client who is ready to move forward with an iPhone version of its weekly trade publication. However, to do so with Adobe's current offerings would be WAY too cost prohibitive. My client would need about 750 downloads to serve its readership. The publication itself has hardly any graphics and consists of about 10-12 differerernt articles. So, my questions are as follows:
1. Does Adobe plan to let single edition users publish folios for the iPhone?
2. Are there any good alternatives for publishing a simple trade publication for the iPhone?

I am a Professional Edition member of DPS and currently publish our magazines on the iPad only. Most of our magazines are free, and thus makes it impossible to afford the $0.30 per download fee that Adobe requires. The only way to do so is to publish everything in single edition and update/overwrite each new issue. This has worked for us, but still limits us to iPad only. The Android, Kindle Fire and iPhone are only available for using the fulfillment service, which again charges $0.30 per download. It is frustrating to me too, as I have been a loyal customer of DPS for two solid years now and they have been "promising" that these will be available in single editions soon. They have said that for two years now.
My point is that Adobe is slow to adding devices to the single edition because they don't make any money off of it. They only make money off of the fulfillment services, so there is absolutely no incentive for them to even "bother" with coming out with single edition versions of any other device. I'm surprised they even offer single edition for iPad.
Which leads me to my point -- I recommend that you find an alternative to using DPS for your iPhone single edition version. If it is simple in design, you can use something like Hype (for mac only) to build as an HTML5 web app and then package it into a native app with PhoneGap.

I really hope this helps! Don't give up on Adobe, because they are a great company and have awesome products, but realistically they are also in the business to make money. I am sure eventually they will come out with different single editon versions of devices that are supported, but it definitely won't be anytime soon.

My App store doesn´t work under my user. Everything is ok if I start with a guest user. I have a Yosemite MacBook Pro. How can I solve this? Because I'm unable to open the App Store, Mail, Contacts and so on. Please can you help me.

We have an multi-issue app with iTunes subscriptions (retail) in the Newsstand. We are currently publishing monthly editions inside our app.
Recently we also published a retail Special Issue using this multi-issue subscription app so that current subscribers would see this new Special Issue inside the viewer. This we like.
We would now like to publish this same Special Issue as a single-edition app so that new and future users would "see" this inside the App Store.
Can users download these two identical apps, meaning can they purchase this twice? Is there a way to prevent this "double purchase" thru DPS or App Builder or thru iTunes Connect?
TomAs I understand it, each app is wholly independent with respect to entitlement. That is, you can't use a purchase in one app to determine entitlement inside another. Even so, you're talking about two different kinds of iTunes purchase: in-app versus app.

LabVIEW 5.1.1 App Builder doesn't work on WinXP or 2k?
G'Day All,
I have a client that needs some apps written in LabVIEW 5.1.1 built into exe's, but I've found that once I install the App Builder on my Windows XP and 2000 PCs, I get "dist build app image subvi is not executable" - I've tried opening the wiring diagram to fault find, but it is understandably passworded. Has anyone come across this problem, and if so, how do I get around it?

LabVIEW 5.1.1 is not supported under Windows XP. The first LabVIEW version that we tested and do officially support under this OS is 6.1.
On Windows 2000, you may get this error if you install the Application Builder 5.1.1 on the machine that has LabVIEW 5.1 on it. Both versions have to be the same.

when i click on create app it says, An error has occurred while launching the DPS App Builder application.
Failed to find DPS App Builder application.It sounds like DPS App Builder wasn't installed properly. Please look for DPS App Builder in the Applications folder. If you see it, please move it to trash, and then install it. DLL build by Labview App Builder doesn't work if Built-IN functions used!?

I hope somebody shed some light on this;
(All VIs are in the attached case1-2.zip)
Case 1:
A VI reads a 1D array data and Uses RMS.vi to calc the rms of the data and returns the rms value and the error value. (make1_dll.vi).
This VI is used to build a DLL. (test1.dll using the test1.bld)
Call this DLL in a new VI (just to test that the DLL works) (test1.vi)
RUN the new VI >>> Result Nothing happens No Error or Crash and No result!!!
Case2 :
Build the above without using the “RMS.vi” and works OK. (see case2 VIs)
Any idea why the build-in function doesn’t work?

You might want to look at the path building you are doing to find the RMS VI. If you are using relative paths, then LabVIEW calls like "VI Path" will have an extra path if the VI is an exe or inside an LLB.
Drop some probes (indicators, outputs, etc.), rebuild and double check the paths. I've been burned by this before...
If this is the case, you can use the VI properties, or path parsing to solve it.

I don't think that is the problem. The RMS.vi is referenced as statically linked VI in the make1_dll.vi.
As such it should be linked into the LabVIEW DLL as well. What I suspect is the problem is the fact that
the RMS.vi uses the lvanlys.dll and that for some reason there is something going wrong with the LabVIEW
test1.dll, which runs in the LabVIEW runtime context, calling lvanlys.dll while executed in the context
of LabVIEW itself. Probably something to do with the changes to how lvanlys.dll is treated between LV 7.0
and 7.1.
I see this same behaviour on my system too, so an installation problem is quite unlikely. Other than that calling a LabVIEW dll from within LabVIEW makes not that much sense (but did work fine in the past save from some hassles in 6.0 and 6.0.1), I have no explanation why this doesn't work.

DPS app builder doesn't accept mobile provision files
On p.45 of the "step-by-step" guide it says:
" if your mobileprovision files are not accepted, go back to the Apple developer site and re-create them. "
I tried that a hundret times now but still the same problem, am I missing something?

Is your error message also the same as posted by someone above? If yes, generate your mobile provision file from another App ID and not from the App ID which end with *(asterisk). App ID which ends in * is a wildcard App ID used to create Enterprise signed app only. If you don't have an App ID created yet beside the App ID that ends in *(asterisk), use the "create new App ID" button to create one. And then generate your certificates with the new App ID you just created. -
Can't advance in DPS App Builder
Hello, I am in DPS App Builder at the App Details stage. I have filed in App Name and Title, but cannot advance to next screen. Have updated Indesign 2014, restarted - still have same result. The 'Next' button highlights, but won't active. Thanks! James
Neil - I've followed the suggestions you've made, but I'm still experiencing this issue. I've contacted adobe support, Case # 0186577346, but they have not yet been able to provide a solution. I'm a single edition user anxiously trying to beat the May 1st deadline and get this app published. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Single Edition - Reset serial & Delete wrong app
Hi... by mistake, I uploaded and used my serial in a wrong app. After testing I noticed that I would need to modify.
Tried to delete and uplad the new one, but the DPS App Builder doesn't let me delete, I am able only to edit, but the edit only allows me to change icons! I need to delete the wrong & old and upload the new one.
How is this possible ?
I only tested in my iPad, not even sent the distribution package to apple...
This is kind urgent... can some body help ?

In other workds, this DPS Single Edition comes with any of the 2 types of CC ?
Another question. If I go to CC single app, I will be able to send my magazine to apple, if I ask for refund in the first 30days, would my magazine still work over apple ? Apple & Adobe are two different things that don't talk each other or canceling the subscriptio my mag will desapear ?

Updating an existing DPS app via single edition
Okay, so I already have an app live on the app store which I published a few months ago using the DPS Single Edition platform.
I would now like to update/upgrade this app on the apple store with a new folio.
Just recently, I upgraded to a new iMac and made sure to copy all material on my hard drive which included all the certificates, so that I can use them again for an update.
I found a great tutorial Digital Publishing Suite Help | Publishing folios to the Distribution Service to update my app but have come across an issue.
The problem I am facing now is that when I log on to the DPS App Builder platform and try and edit the current app I get this error message....
If you can't see the error message clearly it says....
Missing folio
The folio included in this application is missing.The app was
initially created on another computer machine, the folio file has been
moved or the App Builder application storage was deleted
I don't understand what this actually means as I have copied all files from my old computer with reference to the first app on to my new one......
Can someone help me out here please. How do I fix this problem?

Okay, so I created a new app via the DPS App Builder, filled in all the app details plus the mobile provision files.
Inserted the dev p12 certificate plus passwords and tested the app on my iPad with great success.
The problem I am having now is downloading the distribution app.
When I click Distribution App in the Downloads column of my new app, select my p12 distribution certificate and proceed to enter the password, a red square is seen around the Distribution P12 Certificate box.
I have used the same certificates as last time as instructed.
Do you think there may be a problem with the fact that there are now 2 apps in the DPS App Builder using the same P12 Certificate even though I will be replacing the old one in iTunes when I get there?
Any help would be much appreciate.

Update existing single edition app
I am trying to update my existing ipad app. I have had single edition for around 5 months. I am experiencing the same problem as BT219 in this thread:http://forums.adobe.com/message/6138834#6138834. I have deleted the existing folio, made a new one with the same name, and updated the article. I click create new app in the folio builder and it opens the DPS builder. I click on the existing app and click edit. I reload all of the information and download the new developer ipa. I load it to my ipad and it is the old article with updated icons.
No. Just saying it would be way easier to create a new app.
I’ve seen funky stuff like this with test apps. Do you have an iPad that hasn’t had this on it that you can test it on? -
What happens to published single edition apps if I cancel my CC subscription?

DVD BURNING AND FILE DOWNSIZING
Hi I want to burn a dvd on a 4.7gb disc. Yet the dvd file is to big. Is there a way to downsize the file so I can burn this file on to the disc?
