App download/ update does not work without credit card info

Why can't I update or download any apps without entering my card info? There used to be an option that said "none" but it's no longer there.

Ipad1 with WLAN and 3G but WLAN does not work without SIM Card

I do have that Problem too.
Ipad1 with 3G and WLAN.
But... I do not have a SIM Card. I only use my home WLAN.
I am sure WLAN works and is correct installed (I did the same to my iphone and it works there), AND I can controll my Samsung TV with the Ipad, which only works when both use the same WLAN. So it is installed perfect for sure.
But: when I use safari it shows the URL, but than says there is no connection possible.
Why this?
Do I have to install a SIM Card? How is that? I did not mention to do.
My iOS Software is 5. something (the newest that was possible) since this was a original iPad, never used before.
I installed it with iTunes. iTunes says that the connetction failed BUT all my apps, music and anything else I have from my iPhone are now on the iPad.
Do not understand whats going on.
Again - sure it is on the wlan, but the iPad won´t let my out to connect the world.
Bad since I wanted to use it in the house to read/write emails and for my schedule.

A blinking blue dot on a grey screen. In my opinion it doesn't work if that's all you get.
As mentioned in the above thread, there are app store apps (TrackThing, gpsCompass) that will read out your actual position, speed, direction, in numbers, so you can see where you are on a map. (You remember maps? those quaint old world methods of finding where you are?).
This is quite useful in the back country, where cell signals may not reach. I've used gps Compass in the mountains where there was no cell signal. In my case it took about 2 minutes to find the satellites the first time but after that it was very fast.
Its not a substitute for a Garmin, but with a paper map you can still find exactly where you are, and were you are going.
(If you don't know how to navigate with maps, compass, and longitude/latitude numbers, you probably don't belong where there are no cell signals.)

When you've installed SL it will be 10.6.3. You need to update that to 10.6.8 with the combo installer from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 - that gives you access to the Mac App store.
Lion is only available by phone also - same number and they'll give you a download code to use in the Mac App Store.
If you're going to Mountain Lion you don't need to install Lion first - you can do it straight from Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Automatic update does not work

On my both computers (Windows 7, Window 8), the automatic update does not work at all, although it is activated in the options. All I get in the Firefox info box is that an update is available, with a link that I have to follow to download the installation file and install it manually. No difference even if I wait for weeks, the update is neither downloaded nor installed automatically. The problem persists in all Firefox versions since version 3.6.16 / 2011 (the last update in the chronicle). Note that the automatic update seems to perform well in the Windows XP mode of my Windows 7 system !

It will update eventually; there may have been availability problems on the update servers.

if your youtube was already running then I would exit out of the application completely by double clicking your home button and then search for your youtube app on the row that will show below and then press and hold down the youtube icon and then click the "X" to exit out of it. Afterwards try to reopen youtube and play a video to see if it works

Windows update does not work after using System recovery disk

I have a Toshiba Satellite c655 with WIndows 7 64 bit Home premium. The hard drive died on it, so I purchased a new hard drive and purchased the appropriate Recovery media from Toshiba. I followed the directions and installed the 3 disks on to the new hard drive. But Windows update does not work I get the following error: Windows update can not currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your PC    No matter what I try, I can not get it to work. And it will not let me install Windows Defender either. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. There is a world of information in these forums if you use the search function near the top right of this page. Just type in NAS for example and you get many threads on the subject (marked with a green checkmark if it solved the question) another example would be Airport Exterme and sound system. Once you formulate your ideas better then specific questions can be addressed one at a time. You may find that a less expensive choice for a server might be a mac mini. Good luck with your project, ask more specific questions and update you systems profile.

Drag And Drop from the new Photos app to Safari does not work. This worked perfectly with iPhoto before.
I use this a lot to upload photos to a Wordpress blog. Is there a way to make this work again? Its a major regression to the old iPhoto behaviour -- at least for my workflow.

FIRST: A FREE item does not require a credit card. Only a user account name & correct password.
Assuming you are using the correct password & getting past the entry field for the account name:
IF its an item requiring a credit card (see 1st sentence above):
Do you have the credit card entered in iTunes first? And from the same account name?
For CHARGE ITEMS: I’ve experienced trouble [using Appstore] if iTunes doesn’t have the card, or the same account name.
Try entering/validating the credit card in iTunes - then go to Appstore (which I would preferably do on a desktop, not from a wireless device) to download your app (though some appear not to be visible from the desktop account if they’re exclusively iPhone/iPod format).
Should you not want to keep the credit card always active, you can always change to “NONE” after your purchase in one, or both places.
(There are 2 places where DONE button gets selected).

I urgently need to download a business application and I had not been able to change my credit card type to be use in my apple iphone. I does not have the credit card that I had been using in my previous iphones and I want to change it but the message that the iphone is indicating that the info does not match my bank records.
