App download "waiting" then disappears

My Words with Friends was going wonky, so I deleted it and wanted to reinstall it. It says "waiting" then the waiting icon disappears all together. I've tried rebooting my phone, but that doesn't work. I've tried syncing in my iTunes on my laptop, but I keep getting an error code that it can't sync apps with my phone.
This is getting really annoying! Any thoughts?
I have an iPhone 4 (not 4s), 16g
Thanks!
~~ Jen

  • App 'waiting' then disappears

For some reason, my app stpre has decided to not let me download or update apps anymore. Whenever I try to do so, the app goes straight to 'waiting' then disappears within a few seconds. There are no problems with my internet and I have tried literally everything. I do not have a credit card on file and I pay for apps via credit. Why is this happening? I need to fix this asap!

  • When updating or purchasing an iOS app a dialog will appear stating this app and over ten others cannot be downloaded and then disappear and allow me to continue. How can I get this dialog to cease?

A dialog will continue to appear on both my iPhone 4 and iPad (1st Gen) when downloading an update or purchasing a new app from the iOS app store. The dialog stats that "Example app and 11 others could not be downloaded" and then once I tap "Ok" it will allow me to continue updating or purchasing all applications including the example app listed. My iTunes Store (Apple ID) account is fine and I've tried resetting and restarting but not restoring. I'd like to resolve the issue without a restore if possible. I'd like to get the dialog to cease. As I mentioned it is not tied to one device but my account when updating or purchasing applications.

  • Apps install and then disappear

    Hi there,
I'm not sure if it's related to the new release of 7.0.4, but there are apps which disappeared from my screen after the update.
When I look to re-download them in the app store, it says the apps are still installed (shows Open). When I tap open, it does nothing.
I've removed and re-added the apps, and still nothing -- they show up on the screen looking like this:
And once they "install", they disappear off the screen.
I've tried restarting the phone, I've tried removing them and re-downloading them and I've even tried a restore on my phone (backed up the phone and did a restore).
Anyone have any ideas? A couple of the apps mean nothing to me, but one is very important and I need to get it back.
Thanks to any and all who may be able to help.

I figured out a way around it:
    1. Go into iTunes and download the app(s) you're missing.
    2. Connect your iPhone to your computer.
    3. Go into iTunes and under your phone, remove the apps you're already missing through iTunes (click the remove button next to the apps that had already disappeared).
    4. Sync your phone.
    5. Disconnect your phone from your computer.
    6. Download the app(s) from the App Store on your phone, while your phone isn't connected to your computer.
    Worked for me! Good luck!

  • App waiting, then disappear

my ipod touch is gen 4. when i downloaded a application it says waiting and then it disaappear before it starts loading...can anyone help me

    - Does your iTunes purchase history show that you purchased the app?
    - Is the app compatible with your iPod model and iOS?
    - Does it happen with one app or all apps?
    - Have you tried download the app on your compute and syncing?
    - Have you tried resetting your iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Mountain lion download started then disappeared

I was downloading mountain lion from the app store on the Mountain Lion up to date program code file.
The down load started, I walked away, I believe the iMac went to screen saver and the DL disappeared.
There was no trace of it in the user download folder ?

Look in your Applications folder for "Install OS X Mountain Lion". If it's there just double-click to install. If not restart your Mac and the download should continue from where it left off.

  • Apps sync but then disappear

Alright I am completely confused by this one.
My son has a 2nd gen touch and we sync it to a macbook pro with lion and was fine until yesterday.
He decided to add some apps and then hit apply.  The touch synced and when the ipod was done the apps disappeared from the ipod.
I have reset the ipod, (held the on/off button and the hold button for ten seconds), restored it from iTunes, and restarted my computer.
Running out of options here.  Any ideas?  I did just update iTunes a few days ago, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Unable to download using Vista; FF goes to run or save; I've selected both; download goes thru "downloading" and then disappears; can't find anywhere; have tried this many, many times on two identical computer setups.

Have tried many times to download both Firefox and Thunderbird on two 2-year old, rarely used, identical computers, both using Vista. (I downloaded both successfully on an old computer using XP.) The program goes thru the downloading process; alternately I've told it to "run", "save", "save to desktop", "save to my documents folder on desktop." It disappears when through downloading. I've checked in these folders plus temporary folder as found through "tools/internet options. I've tried to find these downloads by using "run" and using every word I can think of to help find them (temporary folder/or User/my name/firefox 3.6.9.ext and others. Get the message can't be found. Any help sincerely appreciated. Thank you. Jim

A: Why won't AirPort Utility find my Netgear Router?
AirPort Utility works only with an Apple router, as does the utility for a Netgear work only with a Netgear router.
B: Why won't AirPort utility find my AirPort Express?
Any of 3-4 common reasons. We'll have to work on troubleshooting that.
C: Why, on the two occasions the AP Utility did find the APE, did it not give me the option anywhere to set it up as an EXTENDER to the current network?
Apple designed the wireless "extend" feature on their routers to only work with other Apple routers.
D: Is there any other way to add the APE to my network as desired without using AP Utility?
    No
Not sure how you want to proceed at this point. It might be possible to use the AirPort Express to extend the Netgear network if you connect it using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection back to the Netgear router.
If you cannot run the Ethernet cable, your best bet by far is to use another Netgear extender or repeater, which would likely be compatible with your Netgear router.

  • I've lost my Downloads icon. Its not even in Finder, so I'm baffled!! A little box shows up when I am actually downloading stuff, then disappears. Where has it gone?? CCinNZ

I've lost my Downloads icon. It's not in Finder or anywhere else I've looked.
Has anyone found the solution as to where it goes.
I simply want to drag it back to my Dock.
    Help.

Not Lost, just leave a downloaded Application or pdf in it and it will stay on the safari tool bar..
Downloaded files e.g.from Mail stay in the downloads folder in your home account in finder although this can be changed in Safari preferences.

  • When I try and install an app Or update one, I get it to say waiting, then it disappears and I haven't purchased it yet?

When I tap purchase it does what I normal does then it sys on the home screen under the app waiting, then disappears the same is true for updating or downloading music.

    beckyj3,
the last version of Mac OS X which supported running PowerPC apps on Intel Macs was Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). If you’d like to play this PowerPC game on your Intel MacBook Pro, then you’ll need to install Snow Leopard on it and boot into Snow Leopard. (Note that the last MacBook Pro which natively supported Snow Leopard was the Early 2011 model.)
The game was almost certainly published before Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) was released, so back then, all versions of “Mac OS X 10.3 or higher” would have supported running that PowerPC game.

  • GarageBand app download restarts, and won't complete.

Have been trying to download the app on my iPhone for 4 hours. It will load half way, then return to "waiting" and cycle through this over and over. I am connected to wifi, have restarted the phone, deleted the app and resubmitted the download request all to no avail.

I have a very similar issue. I've been recording on my iphone4 garage band app, but since electing to download the update I'm unable to use garage band! The app states 'waiting' then starts downloading but stops & displays a message: unable to download application. it gives the option of selecting done or retry. I've been retrying for a week now!

    Hi Nerdyninja12,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try this step first if an app download on your iPad is not completing:
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.

If the download still does not complete, force close and re-open the App Store. Here's how to force close an iOS application:
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
These steps come from this article:

  • ICloud restore Apps download while in waiting mode then disappear after

    Hi All,
When I restore my iPhone 4 from the iCloud backup, I get prompted to key in a new passcode for the phone, Facetime password, iMessage password, and my email passwords but I do not get prompted for my AppStore password.
My apps stay in "Waiting..." mode and they start downloading at that state. The moment the download completes, all the waiting apps turn white and flash (disappear and appear) and the downloaded app disappears forever (icons have shifted as if they app was deleted).
I have tried this about 7 times already and at every single attempt, I was not prompted for my AppStore password (I'm guessing the restored apps do not get authenticated/verified so they just get dumped after download).
I then tried a few more restores and thought of ways that would "interrupt" this instant download of apps (in Waiting... state). I tried shutting the phone off after I keyed in all my passwords (I have about 5 email accounts). Upon starting back up the phone, it will go on with the automatic download without asking me for my AppStore password.
I decided to try to interrupt the sequence further (in another restore attempt) but continously tapping on an application in the Waiting... state (similar to how you would pause/unpause a new app download/update). This eventually caused the AppStore login prompt. After which, one of the apps now hit Loading... state and downloading it completely will install it. All the relevant data is restored.
Now the issue is that despite being able to do this, I still lose 1 or 2 apps (one before I shutdown and before I can hammer an app enough to make it pop up the AppStore login screen). Is there some sort of delay issue with regards to the iCloud restore process? Is it possible to get the phone to prompt me for my AppStore password immediately after a restore?
I'm not sure if this is due to my iCloud backup being corrupted (upon initial restore the phone reboots and does the loading graphics and then to the apple then get stuck in the spinning icon for a while). I dont know how much more I can describe what I'm experiencing but I will gladly provide more information.

    OK...
Here's what I did to get around this problem, a slight modification of a fix for another issue...
All you need to do is Settings->General->International->Languages–>Change to British English
This will cause the Springboard to soft reset and the stuck apps will automatically resume and download themselves! Or not, in which case you can follow the steps below.
Now (very important) after perfomimng step one again, quickly go to the app that you are stuck on, move it out of its folder if necessary, to get at it more easily. Press and hold to bring up the 'x' then tap to delete. Note: You will only have few seconds, maybe 2 or 3 before the springboard finishes its refresh and the resume download kicks back in on the stuck app. Once it gets to resume restore mode, you will be unable to delete the stuck app. The rest of your apps should continue to download normally now, once the offending app is deleted. You can easily re-download that app later, once the others have finished restoring.
You can now change the language back to US English or whatever (I'm going to leave mine in the Queens English)
    Cheers! Hope this helps someone.

  • IPad2 wi-fi download of apps stuck at waiting then vanish

Just got iPad2. Using wi-fi at home, and once at the app store, any free app I select to install begins the download process, showing "waiting", but the download never begins and the app disappears after a minute or so.
Why is this happening? I download successfully on my iPhone all the time. Thanks!

I got exactly the same issue here.  Have been struggling on this for 3 hours straight on now
Bingo - My exact issue. I've tried reboots & re-installing the app from the app store.  Then I logged out of the app store upon forum suggestion and now can't log back in. I even went so far as to change my Apple ID password. Still no luck getting into the iTunes Store or App Store on my iPad 2 OR MacBook Pro.
