I need an app that still records audio but doesn't have the red status bar that shows I'm still recording when I exit the app. Does it exist? I have heard apple apps require the red status bar to be there.

You need to have the capability to export the presentation in a format your teacher can use. Ask your teacher what format she wants the presentation in. If she wants PDF then you have to send her a PDF file. If she wants something else send her the presentation in that format.
Be warned that not all apps supporting opening presentations preserve or support all layut and formatting. The best approach to ensure your presentation looks as you intended when she opens it is to write it in the same app she will be viewing it.
It is not unreasonable for the teacher to specify a format/application. Otherwise a teacher with 100 students could find herself having to deal with multiple apps, formats, standards, layouts, being sent to her.

If you got the iPad from your school, and the Installing Apps restriction is 'off' but greyed out (as you 've said here https://discussions.apple.com/message/16137325#16137325) so that the App Store app is hidden, then it's likely that your school has set the restriction - you will need to ask them to remove the restriction for you.

But i didn't work as I got the above error message.

Unfortunately this all seems a little rough around the edges -- for example, I have found updates for AppStore apps on the support.apple.com updates download site, but then when I install them via ARD they don't actually update the software. (The AppStore icons still show as needing the updates, and the version info reports the old version.) The documentation is also vague about which AppleID to use in which circumstance. I think they just haven't finished thinking through the implications of the various procedures and policies upon the various kinds of customers. When we deployed Mountain Lion on the school lab, we made an install usb and went around and installed it on each computer -- and it appears that you are on the honor system as far as paying for all of the licenses that you install. We did! But they appear to have no way to enforce it.
So far, I have only deployed 9 Lion macs in my day job, and our "solution" to the AppStore showing updates problem has been to drag the AppStore icon off of the users' docks so they don't see them!

Correct. The difference between "Mail PDF" and "Save PDF" is that the first opens a new Mail message with the file attached. the second saves a file which you may attach to an email message.

Not familiar with Terrainathome, but my guess is that the company is sending an email message containing HTML code that downloads what's essentially a web page into the displayed message. To do that, you'll need a website, software that will produce the necessary HTML code, and recipients with email clients capable of interpreting HTML (which is 'most email clients' these days).

1) You can uninstall all Java Console extensions from the Firefox Extensions list, since this extension is obsolete and has no function. If the "Remove" button for the Java Console extension is inactive or "greyed-out", exit Firefox, reopen Firefox from the context (right-click) menu "Run as Administrator" option, then try again. If this doesn't work, you can also manually remove unwanted extensions by opening the installation directory "extensions" folder and deleting the associated subfolder (e.g., to uninstall the Java Console 6.0.25 extension, open the C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\extensions\ folder and delete the "{CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0025-ABCDEFFEDCBA}" subfolder).

2) The RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension can be removed from Firefox by opening RealPlayer, going to "Tools -> Preferences -> Download & Recording" and unchecking the option, "Enable Web Download & Recording". Moving session to a different computer that doesn't have the sample lib?

I want to bring a Logic session into a studio for a mix, and it's mostly tracks with EWQLSO instruments. What's the best and quickest way to do this? I could, of course, bounce each track individually, but with 24+ tracks of AIs for each cue this would take a lifetime. I haven't had much success with the "export/ all tracks as audio" command, as for some reason it didn't bounce the volume automation with the tracks. I'm thinking of AAF, or OMF, but are they lossy formats? I also tried taking my session, freezing all of the AI tracks and then transferring the whole session to a laptop (without the EW libs) and it wouldn't play the freeze file audio, even though the tracks were there... Any suggestions would be a big help!

It actually did work. I think it'll end up saving me a lot of time, so thanks a lot for your idea. I do wish there was a simple one-click way. Like if on Export all tracks as audio, there could just be a selection box that had either pre-fader (as it does now) or post-fader (to include all of the automation data like I need) but then again it would burn a file that could be un-automatted. Maybe what logic needs is a function like: Export all tracks as audio, and import as audio tracks including original automation.... Probably needs a better name though!

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Mac Mini for audio recording using LOGIC X

Has anyone had experience using the latest Mac mini for audio recording? I'm thinking of purchasing the 2.6GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x8GB 1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm model. I'll be using Logic X along with Reasons, Wave, UA plugins with a Apollo I/O I'd appreciate any feedback and or suggestions.

I'd work off of another hard drive as much as possible. Install the applications to your boot drive, but keep your data on a separate external hard drive. If you try to run OS, apps and big audio data off of that 5400, I foresee performance issues even with 16GB of RAM. Also, don't forget a second external hard drive for your backups.

I want to combine in the same report different measures from different fact tables that doesn't have the same dimensionality,for example:
measure 1 linked to dimensions : time geography and product
measure 2 linked to dimensions : time and geography
Currenctly when I create a report like:
time----gepgraphy---product------measure 1-----measure 2 I don't have any data for measure2 because it's not linked to the product dimension.
The exact report is year---store name---product area name----- store sales-----number of visitors : the number of vistors doesn't have any relation with the product dimension.
Is there a way to create this kind of report??
