App for Office -- Opening a document -- Default behavior and options

I have created a simple App for Office with a task pane. After launching the application, when I open another (existing) document, it opens a new window. The new window does not have the task pane open.
Is there any way to open the new document in the same window as the original document? The task pane should also remain open.

Hi Ojix,
According to the description, you want to keep the apps for Office inserted automaticlly when you open a new document.
As far as I know, this is not supported. Based on my understanding, when we insert the apps for Office into an document, there are some settings about apps are inserted. And since these settings will not inserted when we creating an new document, the apps
will not be inserted automaticlly.
If you do want Excel to support this feature, you can try to submit the feedback by click the "smile face" at the top right corner of Excel.

How can I set app tabs to open to the default page on startup?

If I use an App Tab and click on a link from that tab, then exit and open Firefox, it opens up the website I was on when I closed Firefox the last time as the App Tab. For example, If I have Google as an app tab, make a search, click on a new website, and exit Firefox, the same website from before will load in my App tab instead of Google. When I open Firefox, I want my app tabs to open to their default pages, not the pages I was surfing from those tabs when I closed Firefox.

App Tabs are not protected against changing the URL by opening a link in that same tab and Firefox doesn't keep a record of the original URL.<br />
You can middle click a link to open the link in a new tab if you do not want the tab changing the URL.
You can lock the tab with the Tab Mix Plus extension.

Before the reset quit Pages like this:
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.

[Outlook 2013] Apps for Office and Internet Explorer 11 (IE11)

We have the following configuration:
Windows 7 Professional,
Internet Explorer 11,
Microsoft Office 2013 (32-bit),
Microsoft Exchange 2013 CU6,
Symantec Enterprise Vault 11.
Patch level Microsoft Until 03-oct-2014, so very very recent.
What is the problem, in Exchange its possible to use "Office Web Apps" for integration with OWA. This works very good and we dont have any problems with OWA and the Office Web Apps within OWA Enterprise client.
But, in Outlook 2013, almost every "App for Office" crashes with a popup from Internet Explorer 11. When we open the App, we get a loading.... and after a while A popup with the message "Internet Exporer stopped working".
This is with every App i tested. And it can be reproduced.
What we tried:
Proxy settings;
Re-install Office 2013;
Internet Zone settings;
Browser compatibility modus with zones;
Reset internet explorer settings;
Various reg-hacks for IE security;
GPO settings for untrusted locations of Office Web Apps.
And lucky? No.
So we went back to IE9, and it works like a charm. No problems at all. But Unfortunately, IE9 is not an option due to company apps written for IE10+.
But when it works outside Outlook 2013 in IE11, but not inside outlook with IE11, there must be a problem somewhere with Outlook 2013/IE 11 integration. And actually, the currents Apps we don't need in Outlook 2013 (until snd quarter 2015, then we need them).
So for this time we configured "Block Apps for Office" GPO setting and depoyed it. And... In Every Office components Apps are disabled, but NOT in Outlook. So the GPO is not working for Outlook.
How to solve?

all the "Apps for Office" that i saw in the "STORE" are using the tables that alrady in the excel ( powerpivot ) , but i need to use those tables which are on the

According to your description, you want to find the recently used tables in tabular tables. Right?
In Excel, the My Apps just shows the Apps which are embedded in Office, it's not related to SSAS tabular at all. SSAS tabular is just a BI feature for SQL Server. Excel can just open a connection to SSAS tabular model and import the data into pivot table
report or something else. If you want to see the recently used data. You may see then in the
Recently Workbooks.

Hi,
I’m not sure if I understand your question correctly, so please correct me if I have any misunderstandings.
For the defined names, I assume you mean the named range. If so, you can create the binding to the named range through
Bindings.addFromNamedItemAsync method.
For the styles, I think the article below may give you some help.

By the way, there are no methods to iterate the styles and named range through the current Office JavaScript API.

You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

Can I create a xml that would would do this? Is there a way to do it using the EWS service reference. I do not want to use import/export to do this.

yes I was able to make it work using Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data and writing it as a web API, however i am unable to to authenticate the user if it is hosted on another server (without them retyping their password. I assume that
their is a matching java script version of what i am doing on the api side. I am just stuck trying to figure it out. the below code works as a Web Api if i could authenticate the user.

I want to test the task pane app for office which I created and haven't published on office online, but I cannot find a way. In the project properties, I already selected Internet Explorer from "Start Action", but it doesn't work. It keeps asking
me to input Site URL.

According to the description, you want to debug the apps for Office for the Office online.
To debug for the Office onine, we need to provide a SharePoint site which host the Office online. That's the reason that Visual Studio needs us to provide the site URL.

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.
