App/Game/Tune sharing from different Apple Ids via icloud - is it possible?

Is it possible for one AppleId, via iCloud, to access apps/games/music etc that have been purchased with another AppleId?
We have 2 iPod Touch devices and now 2 iPad devices and I would like for my daughter's iPad purchases to be maintained under her own new AppleId.  I was hopeful that her iPad could access the apps etc that we've purchased on her iPod using a different AppleId.
Can various Apple devices all share the same apps etc?
Is this "do-able" or am I expecting too much of the almighty Apple?

Yes, if you create 2 seperate user accounts.

I buy apps in my iPhone using different Apple ID. Which Apple ID should I use to authorize the computer when sync iPhone with iTunes?

    Hi again,
After a little further research, it appears that you would need to create separate iTunes libraries in order to be able to continue to purchase and download previously purchased items on the same computer, for two different Apple IDs. Sorry - but my husband and I have had the library we sync with authorized for so long, that we have not run into this issue, but it appears that you will get an warning when you try to authorize the second ID on the same computer, indicating that another ID is already associated with it.
So, you will probably have to set up separate iTunes libraries for each ID:

Sorry for any confusion - hope this helps!

  • Using Touch ID for App store when you have seperate Apple IDs for iCloud and iTunes

My wife and I each have a new iPhone 5S.  We share the same Apple ID for iTunes and the App Store.
In addition, we each have our own unique Apple IDs for iCloud.  This enables us to use iMessage to text to each other.
Can the iPhone 5S be setup to use the Touch ID for iTunes and App store purchases when there are separate iCloud and iTunes ID on the same phone?
Currently, I can unlock my phone using the Touch ID, but the App store requests me to type the password to my wife's and my shared Apple ID whenever I wish to buy an app.  I am not given the option to use the Touch ID.
I do have both the iPhone Unlock and iTunes & App Store set to "on" here: Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode > Touch ID
How can I use my current setup so I can approve App Store purchases with the Touch ID?

This is the screen that pops up when I attempt to purchase an app.  It does not allow me to use my Touch ID.

  • Privacy Compromise:  Leaking Apple IDs via iCloud restore

I just received my iphone 4S and after activation restored via my iCloud backup.  As it began restoring apps on my device, it began to randomly suggest different Apple IDs that I could attempt logging in with.  If I locked my screen and unlocked it, it would suggest yet another random Apple ID / email address.  I repeated this process and captured screenshots of it to prove I'm not crazy...but it seems plausible that I could repeat this use case to enumerate a complete list of Apple IDs as each suggestion was unique.  Has anyone else seen this behavior?

You should forward your comments to Apple at http://apple.com/feedback
They appear to me to be quite useful.

  • Home Sharing with different Apple IDs

    Hello,
My wife and I have separate apple IDs and separate user accounts on our MAC.  We have it set up this way because we each have our own iphones and don't want to be syncing each other's stuff (music, photos, apps) with icloud.  Of course, sometimes you want to share music with each other.  Home sharing makes it easy when you use the same apple id but we have separate accounts.  I can play her songs using Home Sharing but I can't drag and drop the files into my library--which I assume is because of the different IDs.  So my question is there an easy way for me to "copy" or "move" songs she has purchased to my music library?  Any suggestions for the best way to keep things separate but still be able to share easily?  Thanks!!!  Matt

You need to use the same Apple ID on each device on your home  network.

  • Setting up multiple iPads w/Family Sharing with different Apple IDs (previously shared one Apple ID).

My three children each receive iPad minis from their generous grandparents last year; all were using my Apple ID so that we could share purchased content.  However, they could not play games with each other using GameCenter (all one Apple ID) and it would be good to iMessage/FaceTime each other.  So Family Sharing seems great, but it seems to me that I will have to sign out of my Apple ID on each of their devices, which means that they will love all of their data, etc.
Can I change each child's iPad mini from my Apple ID to theirs and then use a backup to restore their data?
    Thank you.

I apologize, but my grammar and spelling were full of errors They "received" iPad minis...
And I am afraid that they will "lose" (not love) all of their data.
    Thanks.

  • Can we share apps and songs with two different apple IDs but the same computer?

we both got an iPod Touch for Christmas and we have two seperate Apple IDs and I cant figure out if the music she has purchased and the music i have purchased can be combined. We are using the same computer (windows 7) and same user acct. We also have itunes gift cards and before we start buying stuff i want to know how this all works. Thanks in advance and I must admit i am new to apple and not the greatest at it.

I've tried everything..unplugging and re-setting the Apple TV, restoring to factory settings and starting over...nothing seems to work. I'm not sure why the software upgrade would have affected it, but that's what triggered this problem. It doesn't seem right that if it's accessible on my computer and it's all music purchased by me, that it's not all accessible on my Apple TV!

  • Different Apple IDs for iCloud on 2 iOS5 devices

I have two Apple IDs. When setting up iCloud on myiPad I made the mistake of using a different Apple ID from the one I used on my iPhone, and there doesn't seem to be any way of reversing this so that they both access iCloud with the same Apple ID. Any ideas?

So by clicking the big red "DELETE ACCOUNT" below, it will only delete the ACCOUNT, and not the apps, contacts, etc. etc?
When I updated my iPhone to iOS 5, I used my aunt's account. Now that she has updated her iPhone to iOS 5, she also uses her account and her photos were also in my photostream. I want to use my own account.
Will my aunt still use her ACCOUNT after I delete it?
    Enlighten me, please.

  • Can different apple IDs home share and share i tunes/app purchases?

Can different apple IDs in a household home share on the devices and share i tunes/app purchases?

Thanks for the reverse thinking Winston, but the thing is my original apple ID is really old, and correspond to an email service provider I no longer trust in terms of stability, availability of the service or which ever other expression you might want to link to reliability.
This is why when I created my iCloud profile and started using multiple OS and OSX devices I decided to have a different ID. One that will help me take advantage of the Cloud benefits, Apple TV, email sync, iTunes Match and everything else.
Apple support told me there will be no problem setting my iCloud ID as my primary; only that the original would remain associated to the store and the credit card.
(BTW; Let’s just remember apple IDs cannot be merged)
The problem now, however, is that somehow everything has gotten mixed between devices. Until the moment I am writing here and at the same time, I am carrying some instructions from another forum:
    - In all of your devices:
    Sign out from iCloud
    Sign out from iTunes
Sign in to iCloud with your preferred apple ID
Sign in to iTunes with your original (credit card related) apple ID
All of your movies, photos, music and so on, should look the same in all devices.
    I hope this helps someone.
    Cheers!!!

  • I had apps from 2 different apple ids.  When I synched my ipod touch with my computer, I lost apps from other id.  It backed them up to my computer.  How do I access those apps and put them back on ipod touch?

I had apps from 2 different apple ids on my son's ipod touch.  When I synched it to my computer, it backed the apps from other id onto my computer and deleted them from the ipod.  How do I find the apps and how do I put them back on the ipod touch?

Apps can be re-downloaded, and you won't be charged again for a purchsased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.
All apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. Apps cannot be transferred to or combined with another iTunes account.

  • Can I Share music from iPhone to wife's iPod we both have different Apple ids, and if I do share music will all my photos be shared too?

Can I Share music from iPhone to wife's iPod we both have different Apple ids, and if I do share music will all my photos be shared too?

Depends on what the source of the music is (iTunes purchases, ripped CDs, etc.), and whether you are syncing to iTunes on a computer. As for simply sharing music directly from the iPhone to the iPod, no, you cannot.

  • How can I share purchased apps between different apple IDs?

    Hi,
I bought a Mac recently and created a new Apple ID.
The Home Sharing for my Mac is 'on'. I want to copy my purchased apps from my Home Sharing account to my Mac. However, I'm struggling to do that.
Can anyone help me out please?
    Thanks

A purchased app is associated with an Apple ID. A user with a different Apple ID cannot use the app unless they also use the same Apple ID.
I cannot use my wife's apps nor she mine because each were purchased with different Apple IDs.

  • Loading Apps and PDFs to multiple iPads with different Apple IDs

    Hello,
We are deploying 200+ iPads to our business and we are configuring each of the devices individually on-sight. We have received each employee's Apple ID and password for these corporate devices.
We want to load 7 free apps to each iPad and a variety of PDFs to iBooks before we deploy the devices. We have experimented with Apple Configurator for the Apps and iTunes for the PDFs and run into a few problems.
    Apps:
When we loaded these 7 free apps using Apple Configurator from a Macbook Pro to an iPad with a different Apple ID, we had no problem. The iPad user was able to download other apps using their own Apple ID without any issues. The problem came when we tried to update these originally loaded apps. When the user is prompted to update, the Macbook Pro user's Apple ID showed up with the update and there was no way to get around that even though the device was logged into the iPad owner's Apple ID in the settings.
Is there a way to push multiple apps from one device to another without have two different Apple IDs sitting on the one device?
    PDFs:
A similar problem happened with iTunes and iBooks. When we pushed PDFs from the Macbook owner's iTunes to the iPad, there was no problem. When the iPad user tried to upload some of her own PDFs from her Apple ID in iTunes, the originally loaded PDFs were wiped.
Is there a way for both sets of PDFs to stay on the device in iBooks without either getting wiped?

I don't really have any solutions other than uploading the files to cloud storage such as drop box, google, or skydrive and then sharing them to all the users.
