App hangs on tab click if connection in use
If tab one is using connection1 and running a script and i click on tab2 which is also connected using connection1, the app hangs until tab1 finishes the script it was running and connection1 is again free.
Shouldnt each tab really open a new connection with the same parameters as the connection from the connections list? If not then it should at least not let you select any tabs using connection1 while connection1 is busy so that you can continue working on tabs with other connections.
I am using 1.5.0.53 on windowsxp.

By default, all worksheets use the same single threaded connection. To get a worksheet with an unshared connection, use ctrl-shift-N

Option-Click on desktop to hide current app hangs the app
I've been getting a weird finder hang lately: option-clicking on the desktop to hide the current application makes the application hang and I can't switch back into it. Selecting it in the dock won't bring the windows back, cmd-tabbing over won't bring the windows back, selecting it in the DragThing process dock won't bring the windows back.
The frustrating thing is that it doesn't happen all the time. Happens mostly with InDesign CS2 and Photoshop CS2. The only way out is to select the icon in the dock and do a force quit. Nothing else hangs.
Any advice?Too bad it is an intermittent problem, that makes it harder to chase down. It would drive me nuts, as I use the shortcut all the time. You could try creating a test user and running there for awhile, but since it doesn't happen all the time that may not sort anything out. Have you run all the usual maintenance voodoo? Repair Permissions, clean caches (Tiger Cache Cleaner is useful, but costs money)? Take a look at Doc Smoke's FAQ here:

You might also launch Console and leave it running to see if any error messages pop up. If it is only happening with CS2 programs, it may be some strange incompatiblity problem with them. I haven't seen this, but I only have CS1. You could check in the Adobe forums and see if it is happening to anyone else.

Tabs keep saying connecting after clicking yes on message for automatic login from Firefox
Yesterday morning I got this window from Firefox asking something about automatic login and now my tabs keep saying 'connecting'. I don't have the add-onn tabrenamizer installed and eventually did a complete reset of Firefox, but the problem still persists. Could they be windows settings on my computer or is it something else in Firefox?

Desktop app hangs on windows 7
My desktop CC app just hangs when I click on it. Two days ago I was able to download and install Photoshop and Dreamweaver but I have not been able to download or extract Adobe Pro. I really need Adobe Pro for some class work that will be due this semester. I was getting an error connected with Internet Explorer but I have IE 11 and Adobe was still kicking it out and not extracting or installing.
At this point I am pretty disappointed in these products that you pay for. As a student money is tight and now to have to spend two days trying to find help for a glitch is frustrating.Rpolak53105 do you receive any specific error messages? What I did to fix was connect ipad to my PC go to apple store through my PC log in then click restore ipad to factory setting and backup on iCloud this took about an hour to complete and fixed the problem
Can you download new apps? If you can, go to the App Store featured tab and do a search for one of the apps that tells you it needs an update. When the app appears in the search, tap on the app icon and the description window for the app will pop up. Try updating the app from there and see if that works.
Have you tried rebooting your router? Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again?

If you're trying to connect to a Bonjour server on the remote network, that won't work over a layer 3 VPN. Use something like Hamachi or one of the SSH-tunnelling Bonjour proxy apps for that. -

Since uploading Maverick, all of my Microsoft apps give an error message "(name of the app) quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again." However, this does nothing but renew this window. I have to click on the "OK" button to get rid of the error message. What to do?
Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...

2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)

3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Do they launch OK while in Safe Mode? -
Java Swing App hangs on socket loop
H}ello everyone i've run into a bit of a snag with my application, its a simple chat bot right now but will evolve into a chat client soon. I can't do that however since my app hangs when i look through the readLine() function to receive data and i dont know how to fix this error. The code is below.
The doSocket() function is where the while loop is if anyone can help me with this i'd be very greatful.

If so, I would stick to using a GUI for input, rather than reading from the command line (which when I run it, is the DOS window that jumps up in the BG - quite counterintuitive). My edits stick to using a GUI.
Other notes:
- String comparison should be done as
s1.equals(s2)..rather than..
s1 == s2- Never [swallow exceptions|http://pscode.org/javafaq.html#stacktrace] in code that does not work.
- Some basic debugging skills are well called for here, to find where the program is getting stuck. When in doubt, print out!
- What made you think that
a) a test of equality on a member against which you had just set the value to the comparator, would logically lead to 'false'?

The description of the question that I have put as the title is probably as clear as mud! LOL
So i have attached a picture so that you can hopefully see what i am trying to explain!
When I sysnc'd my iphone I suddenly has a "spare" black apps tab appear within iTunes but on the actual phone i only have the top tab appearing!?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
This is also doing the exact same thing on my work iphone!?Do you have iTunes installed on your laptop, and if so has the iPad been connected/synced to it ? If you don't have iTunes installed on it then you can download and install it from here : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

If you are using a PC then you should be able to copy photos off the iPad via the windows camera wizard, if you are using a Mac then iPhoto, Aperture and Image Capture can be used

In terms of copying your documents so that you have a copy of them outside of the iPad backup (just in case the backup gets corrupted and can't be restored back to the iPad), then it depends upon what the apps that the documents are in support - some use the file sharing section on the device's Apps tab on your computer's iTunes, some allow transfer to/from a computer via your wifi network, in some you can email them, use Dropbox etc.
When connected to your computer's iTunes you can also do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy the apps and any music, tv shows etc that you've downloaded from iTunes over to your computer - they are not included in the actual (just the apps content and settings), so for the restore to be able to work they will need to be on your computer's iTunes library so that they can be copied back
