App hangs when I try to upload pix from my camera
I have iPhoto 11 on a MacBook Pro, vintage 2006, running OS 10.6.8. Launch is OK but the dreaded rotating rainbow appears when I try to upload photos from my camera. I can see them all with Preview so I know they are on the camera. I have reinstalled iPhoto, successfully, from the iLife disk and the problem remains. I have checked the hard disk with Disk Utility and had it repair the permissions. No change. Suggestions?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
Post back with the result.

I recently bought a new computer with Win 8.1 installed. When I installed CS6 64 bit, the installation went seamlessly. My problem is that when I try and download images from my camera, it automatically launches the Windows Photo software to download the photos. I would like to use the Bridge to do this for several reasons. If I turn off the Windows Photo program, it takes me back to Bridge but when I click on Download Photos, it causes Bridge to lock up.
If I click on download photos before I turn on my camera, it does not find the camera (as expected) but then I turn on the camera and reset list and Bridge finds the camera and I can download the photos. Then if I try and download additional photos, Bridge locks up and I need to turn off the software and reboot the computer in order to get anything to download.
I have gone to the System Settings and changed the AutoPlay settings to automatically select Bridge when I download Pictures...I also selected Bridge for the Memory Card. Under Devices, my camera is listed and that is set to "Import Photos and Videos"

Apps hang when I try to delete them
The apps wobble, but hang when I try to delete them. Then, the ipad mini restarts. Moreover, I am unable to access certain apps, am unable to download or update apps. I have checked 'deleting apps' under settings, but it doesn't work.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. "Deleting apps" is a setting that you can enable in restrictions that prevents someone from deleting apps.
Or do you mean that you cannot delete apps in Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps. Tap the app that you want to delete and then tap Delete App in the next screen. If you haven't tried that, give it a whirl and see If that works.
There are two basic troubleshooting steps that you can perform that might help. Reset all settings and reset your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. No data will be lost but all of your device settings will have to be entered again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple Logo appears on the screen. -
I have a new Iphone 4S. It is linked to my new Apple ID, as is my Itunes, Itunes Match and Icloud. HOWEVER, when I try to upload Icloud on my actual phone, it pulls my very old Apple ID....an email that is no longer in use. I don't see a way to edit or change it to the correct Apple ID...is there a way to do that?
If the apple id being used by iCloud isn't the one you want, go to settings > icloud > delete account. It doesn't actually delete the account, but it removes it from your device so you can put in the right apple id

Why are my apps hanging when i try and update them? i have the iphone 4 with the new ios 6....
Why are my Apps hanging and not letting me update them on my phone? the app store has been really slow, and tells me alot of the times that it is unable to connect with the store? I am frustrated and don't know what to do....
I am trying to do that now but with my computer, this problem is happening as well.... I am able to download a select few of the updates....

When I try to upload photos from iphoto firefox crashes everytime
When I try to attach a photo from iphoto to facebook or gmail or anything firefox crashes everytime. This just started happening. I have the most updated version of firefox and I have uninstalled and reinstalled it also. It only happens with iphoto. When I used to upload images it would show thumnails to choose from, now it shows thumbnail with saze and date info and I cannot switch it to just thumbnails becasue the buttons above do not highlight. This started when the crashing started.

[SOLVED] Apps freeze when i try to wirelessly print from this laptop
I have an HP Zv6000 running arch that is about 2 1/2 years old, and I have shared the printer on my main desktop so that the laptop can print wirelessly (the desktop also runs arch). The problem is, when I try to print from the laptop, Openoffice stops responding. This also happens on certain other dialogs, especially when I am trying to change stuff in the Options dialog. I am also unable to print from other applications. I really don't know what the problem is here. I have the printer's driver installed on the laptop and the usblp module loaded.

This laptop still freezes whenever I try to print anything except for a test page from the CUPS web interface. So it must be config-related and the problem HAS to be on my laptop, since my server can print just fine. Does anyone know what the problem is? I've been trying for hours and nothing's wanting to work for me.
EDIT: I tried running soffice from the terminal and I looked for any output. This is what I got:

Nothing really related to printing here. Also, running gedit from terminal gave me no output whatsoever when it froze. Weird...:|

I recently upgraded to iphoto 11 v. 9.2 and now iphoto crashes every time I try to upload photos. I have tried to upload from my camera via usb, from my iphone, and from the memory card directly and it crashes every time. What can I do to fix this problem?
It was the folder that I trashed.

Get error message when I try to download pictures from my camera to Iphoto.
Whenever I try to download photos from my digital camera to my Iphoto application in my Mac Book Pro laptop, I'm getting an error message that "startup disk is running low on space" and to delete some files before I try to download again. I also tried to install a recent software update to my computer and could not because it said that I did not have anough GB to do so. So... I'm thinking I need to delete some things. Which items take up the most hard drive space and which would be the best files to delete? I have all my info backed up on an external hard drive, so I could delete a lot of pictures. Thanks!
The order of consumption is usually, video, pics, music, docs.
If you have a great deal of photos on you internal drive and have them on an external storage drive, then you can delete them from your internal, that would free up space, same for videos, they are both space hogs. I regularly put my photos to an external drive, just keep my internal with as much free space on it. It runs faster and less stressful on the drive.
If you are having these error messages then you most certainly need to get stuff off, overloading can kill a drive.
As a general rule try to keep the internal below 50% for better performance. -
I'm using Aperture(3.5.1) on my iMac(10.9.4). I've connected the IOS device(5S) to the computer, opened Aperture and tried to import from the camera roll on my iPhone. Photos that I see in the camera roll don't show up in the Aperture import window, though I can see them in the camera roll on the phone. In fact, since aug. 23, 2014, none of my iPhone photos show up in the import window.
I've shut down my iPhone and my iMac and restarted both, but no change.
I'm aware Aperture is going away soon. I'd like to get these photos off my phone and into Aperture so when the big merge comes, I won't be missing anything.Could the photos already have been imported to Aperture using Photo Stream? The Import window will not show them, if the option "Do not import Duplicates" is active and the photos are already in the library.
Check any Import option in the Import settings, that might be excluding photos from importing. -
Apps crash when I try to upload photos
Since I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1, I can't add photos to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
The app crashes as soon as I try and access my photo library.
I've tried restarting my phone, but it still happens consistently.

Mail App Hangs when trying to attach images
My Mail App (Leopard) keeps hanging (spinning ball) forcing me to force quit whenever I try to attach an image from my Images folder, if I do it through iPhoto it's fine but trying to attach manually it hangs everytime.
Anyone else experiencing this?My Mail App (Leopard) hangs when I try to send eMail from iPhoto 5.0.4. I select the images I want in iPhoto then click eMail and Leopard Mail opens a new message then I get the rainbow of death and the image is never pulled in... Mail hangs until I force quit

I have a plug in error when I try to upload pictures
When I try to upload pictures from the IMAC onto websites, I received a plug in error.
That probably means you need to install or updata the Oracle Java plugin from java.com.

When I try and upload files from my computer to the internet, Firefox crashes and I get this as my signature: ReleaseTemplateVtbl(void**). It happens on all sites where files need to be individually uploaded.

My problem was created because I was uploading from a subfolder within my d:/temp directory and then deleting that folder. Since the subfolder was deleted Firefox could not go to the last folder and was defaulting to the Mozilla directory.

I updated my iPad OS this morning, and now I can no longer use iMessage to send pictures. When I try to get one from the camera roll, it blows up. Is this a known problem?
