App history does not clear in Lion
I'm noticing that for Quicktime and Text Edit that when I clear the history of files I've opened - they do not clear. When I right click the app while it's opened (in the dock) i still see a list of all the files I've opened. Before - if I clear the history - this menu would be cleared as well.
Any advise on how to fix this?
Thanks!
any updates??
did not expect this delay from team APPLE...
how long do they need to fix this...
for me,, all the opened converstation in ichat is not getting deleted.
Cleared Recent items from Files -->Recent items --> clear menu
it cleared only the conversation listed in Recent items..
But, rt click on ichat is still showing all the opened chats..which is actually removed from the Documents-->chats-- Folder already..
but seeing them in the ichat application, when doing rt click.
its displayed as filenamexxxxxxxxxx.ichat

History does not clear in address drop down menu
After going to tools--clear history, and tools--options on multiple occasions, my drop down history does not clear from my address bar, nor does it create new history. I still want control of my address bar, so "nothing" under location bar does not solve the problem either. Speaking to someone about this would be greatly appreciated.
The location bar drop down consists of your history and bookmarks, so it's possible that you're seeing bookmarks. Try setting it to only display history.

Firefox location bar history does not clear
Problem: When I attempt to delete or clear the Location bar, nothing happens. The Location Bar remains fixed and does not update as I browse. This fixed Location Bar history still remains despite various methods of clearing it.
Specs: Running Firefox 3.6.8 on Windows Vista.
Details: Despite various methods, location bar history remains fixed and does not change or update as I browse. I wish for it to display an accurate history but it instead remains fixed. The only way to clear it is to open Tools > Options, and click on Nothing under Location bar suggestions. However, this renders the location bar useless for providing history.
- Selecting websites in Location Bar and pressing "Delete" or "Backspace" has no lasting effect. The website goes away while the Location Bar is pulled down, but reappears in the exact same spot when the Location Bar is viewed again.
- Clearing recent history, with time range set to everything and all options selected in the Details panel, does nothing.
- Pressing Ctrl-Shift-H and deleting all history does not clear Location Bar.
- While in History, highlighting any websites displayed on the Location Bar and telling Firefox to forget it does not clear the Location Bar.
- Running Firefox in Safe Mode still gives me the same problem. Location Bar does not change.
P.S. Location Bar does not display Bookmarks. There are no stars next to any web addresses despite changing Location Bar Suggestion settings to "Bookmarks".
I simply want to get my Location Bar back in working order, but have been unable to do so following the conventional methods suggested on Firefox Support. Thanks for your help!See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite

After updating apps list does not clear
after updating apps list does not clear
Easiest way to clear list is; go to settings>general>date and time and set date manually to a point at least one month in the future (I set mine to two months ahead) and then open App Store and check for updates. The list should now be clear. This is just an update history list. When finished just turn on auto date/time or set it back manually if you like and list should still be clear. If you do nothing the updated apps should start to drop off the list in about two to three weeks.

MY history does not clear when i select clear history +clear is on"everything" ?
clearing history does not work anymore, I select the option to clear everything. In order to clear history I have to go under show all history and delete each individual item
I have the latest version. I have History only selected. When I manually select Clear Recent History, it deletes some items but not everything. I just performed Clear Recent History and 8 sites are still showing up. None of them are in my Bookmarks and most of them I haven't visited in weeks. It is a real pain finding the sites that I would like to select when all this garbage fills up the list.

History does not clear on exit
When I exit Firefox and restart it all my history is still present even although I have it set to automatically clear the history when I close the application.
In the privacy tab I'm using custom settings for history, I also have the checkbox selected for clearing history when Firefox closes, and under settings I have everything selected, but it's not working. I even thought about a second instance of the application running in Windows processes but there was only one and it disappeared when I closed it.
I'm running the latest version of Firefox (35.0.1), with OS of Win 7 Prof. Service pack 1.
This used to work ok until about 2 weeks ago (According to my history). It's driving me nuts now and I'm thinking of changing to Chrome unless I can get it fixed.Hello scotcan,
any luck if you delete in your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox#Windows profile folder] the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file User.js file] you have ?
The user.js file '''does not exist by default'''. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file, to see if the problem goes away (some programs create and write in the file also).
thank you -
I can't seen to clear URL history in Safari. I have clicked "clear history" in the history menu, and also "reset safari" in the safari menu. History appears cleared, but entering a part of a URL brings up URL history!
Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.5)Are you sure that the URL's that appear are not on your bookmarks list?
If you type the first part of a bookmarked URL into the address bar, Safari will complete the URL for you. -
Clearing history does not clear the browser.HOw do I do that
The first thing that comes up on the monitor is the Firefox browser. If I touch for example the letter f, a word for porn comes up. Several other letters bring up other porn subjects.
I want to eliminate that problem and clear that mess out, but can't. History shows no history to clear.go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. You can enable the Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working. -

After I updated lion to 10.7.4, app store does not recognize my ID APPLE and it unable to connect me to app store in order to update/download apps? What have I to do? I have the same problem with mac mini e mac book air. Please help me!
Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.
my internet connection is ok, mail is ok, but app store after 3 resets does not recognize my ID and it says "connection is not possible". Why? I have the same problem in both my mac mini late 2009 and mac book air 2010? Is it a problem of 10.7.4 update? I have to solve this problem and how can i return to 10.7.3 if my last backup was not with 10.7.3???thank you for your kind collaboration... -

Numbers hangs / does not respond with Lion OS 10.7
I have the latest version of Numbers but it does not work with Lion OS X: Numbers hangs / stop responding on opening existing files or creating new files. When I run Numbers "Template chooser" appears, I chose an existing file, then the program reports "Progress... Opening..." and hangs. Your help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
(1) If you are annoyed by the alternate account you may remove it but it may be useful if you have other questions about an odd behavior.
(2) Now, it's clear that the problem is in the main set of files, those shared by every accounts.
I'm not really at ease because I'm not sure of the way apps bought thru the MAS are installed on the HD.
I will ask you to apply two tasks :
(a) run the application "FontBook" (from Applications) and ask it to scan the system in search of corrupted fonts as well as duplicate ones.
(b) Go to : http://www.titanium.free.fr/
and download the free Onyx dedicated to Lion (I know, it's a beta version)
Run it to :
check/repair permissions
clean most of the caches used on the machine.
With a bit of luck, you will get a normal behavior.
May you also, for my own information, tell me :
(I) if there is such a folder (Frameworks) on your machine :
On yours, I guess that "Bibliothèque" is spelled "Library"
(II) if Numbers is stored in the folder "Applications" or in a folder "Applications:iWork '09"

I need to delete the entire browsing history so when i type in a webpage it soes not bring up previuosly visited sites. deleting the history does not do this. any one know how to do this
Judy-
If Private Browsing doesn't do it, try Settings-Safari-Advanced-Website Data-Remove All Websitre Data.
Or changing Settings-Safari-Autofill to OFF.
You might also try Settings-Safari and Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
As you can see, there are several controls for Safari. Which one works depends on what your problem is.

MQ Adapter does not clear the rejected message from the queue
Hi All,
I'm using a MQ Adapter to fetch the message from the queue without any Backout queue configured. However, whenever there is any bad structured message found in the queue, MQ adapter rejects the message and moves the message to the rejmsg folder but does not clear it off the queue, as a result of which it keeps retrying the same hence, filling the logs and the physical memory. Somehow we do not have any backout queue configured so I can move the message to blackout queue. I have tried configuring the jca retry properties and global jca retry as well but to no avail.
- Is it not the default behaviour of MQ Adapter to remove the rejected message from the queue irrespective of Backout queue is configured or not? The same behaviour working well with the JMS and File Adapter though.
- Is there any way I can make MQ Adapter delete the message from that queue once it is rejected?

Phone reset does not clear status screen
we have a couple of applications that reset the phones. we have noticed that a reset on a 7941 does not clear the display (that is, the old message "Resetting, please wait ..." remains on the screen). The 7940s and 7960s are fine. does anyone know why this is?
Version in use is:
Load File TERM41.7-0-2SR1S
App Load ID Jar41.72-1-0-1.sbn
JVM Load ID cvm41.72-1-0-1.sbn
OS Load ID cnu41.72-1-0-1.sbn
Boot Load ID boot41.3-2-2-0.bin
I also have tried SCCP41.8-2-2S
And SCCP41.8-0-4SR3AS
(These are the latest available on CCO)Marc,
The Factory reset or Restore to Factory defaults is geared towards the "Configuration" of the DMP. The contents within flash are not removed as you have seen. The FAQ that you reference is a good way to remove the files if so desired. So the DMP is working as designed.
