App icons are ghosted in 7.1- how can I get rid of that? (iPhone)

The first screen of app icons is ghosted and remains fixed on the background image as I swipe the 'real' app icons from screen to screen. This happpened with ios 7.1. Any ideas?

It sounds like your Home Screen is showing what appears to be your apps in the background and will not move, but you can still swipe left and right. From the way you describe what is happening, it seems as if the wallpaper for your Home Screen was changed to a screenshot of your Home Screen.
Change the wallpaper. Go to Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness > Choose a New Wallpaper.

iPhoto 9.6 cannot open iPhoto Libraries on CD/DVD. The iPhoto Library needs to be on a writable storage. Copy the iPhoto library from the disk to a folder in your Pictures folder. And then run the iPhoto Library Upgrader on that copy, see this link: iPhoto '11: About the Library Upgrader

Actually, that's not on the Home screen, it is on the multitasking or App Switcher view so only shows up when you enter that mode (so I'm not to clear as to why it is so "irritating", but whatever).

Since Oct. 7 last I have a 5S. Before had a 4S. Yes, you are right. I must have done it myself during the first days while exploring the many options after the initial set up was done. On the 4S, I still have, and also running under OS7, it was disabled that's why I thought it was default in the 5S; wrong thinking. Thanks a lot for your great help.

Podcast Authors appear in "Artists" on my Ipod - How can I get rid of that?

I use iTunes to subscribe to podcasts. After synchronizing, the podcasts appear on my Ipod in my "Podcasts"-folder as they should. But the Authors also appear in the "Artists"-folder, which I find very confusing.

If the History sidebar is closed when you close Firefox and doesn't stay closed on the next start then that can be problem with the file localstore.rdf in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.

Note:

Then you can restore the customization by copying "localstore.rdf.sav" to "localstore.rdf" if it didn't work.

hello tomterrimort, if your manual changes don't 'stick' after a restart of the browser, please look out for any suspicious extensions (like 3rd-party-toolbars or things you have not installed intentionally) presently installed under '''firefox/tools > addons > extensions''' or the programs section of the windows control panel and remove those entries.
in case this doesn't solve the issue please try this: go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder", then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named '''user.js''' (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

How can I get rid of that row of icons below the bookmarks, which has Startnow on the left and Twitter on the right?

I sought help among the available articles. I was informed that right clicking on a vacant part of the toolbar would give me the option to delete or hide it. Doesn't seem to work with this one. In fact, right clicking anywhere on this row isn't working. If I right click the "startnow" icon, it takes me to that page. I really don't want this toolbar, as it wastes my desk space. Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID. What ID is in the settings. Tap on that ID to change it. Sign Out. Sign in with your own ID. After you sign out with the incorrect ID, restart the iPad before you sign into your correct account.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go to Settings>Store and sign in.

If that doesn't work, and you by chance have at least one gmail account, you might actually have unread emails in a folder other than the Inbox.

How can I get rid of the iPhone camera?

The issue I am having is that when I press Cancel, the camera fades away, but then it comes right back. Now what I want at all.
Background
I have set up a UIViewController with nib and launch this view from a tab bar. When the tab bar button is pressed the camera comes up as expected. However, I cannot get back to my root controller because I cannot dismiss the camera. When it is fading away, I can see the tab bar momentarily, but then the app goes right back to the camera view.
To be clear, I make use of the following method calls:

How can I get rid of that popup that keeps asking me if I'm sure I want to navigate away from the page I'm on?

I think my question is very clear. If I didn't want to go somewhere else, I would not have clicked on anything. I hate having to answer that question every single time I want to go to a different page.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
