    You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

Apple will NOT accept unsolicited ideas.
You can contact an app maker if your like.

  • Great App Idea.!

Hey, I had an amazing app idea. Some Developer could make millions off of this.
My Idea Goes something like this.
There are tons of Xbox, Wii, PS3 gamers out there that want to record their stuff. If you are familiar with most capture cards, they just take a split of the Yellow RCA cable. There is a headphone jack on the iPod touch. A headphone jack can take an RCA cable if the right adapter is added. So someone should make an app that records whatever is taken in from the headphones jack, i'm sure someone could throw something together. Any thoughts on if this could work?

Try to post your idea here to get more feedback: http://developer.apple.com/devforums/

  • App Idea....how to pursue

I have an idea for an App....so who do I talk to to see it get developed?

Did you find an answer to your question regarding how to pursue your idea? I have an idea as well but I don't have the IT skills to know were to begin. Of course, I bet everyone and their dog has an app idea these days. If you know any helpful tips on where to begin, I'd love to hear.
    Thanks!

  • App idea for developers

This isn't a question but more of an app idea to help developers. From what I gather when perusing both the Mac App Store and the iOS App Store is that a lot of developers don't speak or write very good english. And it probably has somewhat of an effect on their sales. So someone should create an app specifically geared towards developers or anyone marketing their product someplace where the primary language is something other than their own native tongue. You would think google translate would have this covered and maybe it does but so many of the app descriptions I read are full of all kinds of errors that detract from the overall presentation of what is probably a very capable product.

My guess would be that is because they have used Google Translate instead of hiring a human translator.  It's not realistic to think that machine translation can yet substitute for the latter.

  • Two Apps ideas

    Okay, programmers, here're the ideas:
    1) Some application that will access an iPhoto album and change the desktop wallpaper randomly (at intervals the user chooses).
    2) It amazes me that Apple organizes your ringtones in iTunes and yet there is no Ringtone pane in the iPhone's iPod program. I mean, I have (and made) a ton of ringtones and if I wanna play them for someone, I have to go into contacts, choose a person and change their ringtones to play them. C'mon! There should be a Ringtone Manager app!! Duh!
    Alright, developers... develop!!

Hey MovieKid, Great idea, I've also got a few app ideas that I would be willing to pay for. Hopefully we can get a good list going that may attact the attention of Apple / a few developers :
    1) To do / Task syncing with Outlook
    2) GPS waypoint exporting for use with GIS systems (proper GPS functionality)
    3) Auto profiles such as available for Windows Mobile 05/06 so that the iPhone turns to silent automatically if a meeting is in your calendar...no need to remember to silence your phone in meetings or appointments.
    4) Backgammon
    Anyone got any more?...please post

  • About the copyright of the mobile app idea

I have a mobile app idea with a huge potential very large global scale, I went to a large high-tech company and they want to hear about the idea, how can I tell them about the idea, but to my ownership of it? Thank you!

If it's that important to you, hire an intellectual rights lawyer.

  • App Idea - Battery

I'm not an app developer, but I thought this might be a good idea for an app:
As you all know by now, there are a lot of phone settings on the 3G than can drain the battery life quickly. Some of these settings (Wi-Fi, Fetch New Data & Brightness) are accessible directly from the main screen in the Settings app. Others (Network, Bluetooth & Location Services) require going through sub-menus to access.
I may be alone on this (call me lazy), but since I constantly find myself having to turn these things on/off depending on what I'm trying to do, I think it would speed things up a little if there was an app that let you adjust ALL of these settings from the main screen of that app. There may be other things I'm not thinking of that could help with battery life that could also be included. Call the app "BatterUp" or something like that.
Anyway, all you programmers out there could stand to make a few bucks if you created something like this. I've seen far more useless apps out there that people buy. At least this app would make it easier to fight one of the biggest problems facing the new 3G.
Again, am I totally off base here, or does anyone else think this would make a convenient app?

    What a great idea!
But the SDK won't allow developers to touch any of the Apple aps or settings. So only Apple can develop something like this.

  • New App Idea

I have a couple ideas or apps. I am curious the best way to take these ideas and turn them into a final product. I understand, I can locate a developer in my area, but curious if Apple works with individuals. I would appreciate any help bringing my idea to life.

Is it apps on iPhone, iPad or Mac?

  • New App idea needs programmer

I am a 21 year old college student at GVSU in MI. My major is MIS and Marketing. So i had a sales project presentation do and I presented my idea for a new utility app for the apple phone.
Everyone was stunned with my idea even my professor who owns a very successful apple repair and sales business.
Its then i realized my mistake of practically given away a very simple but powerful application.
So my question is, how would i protect my idea or find an honest programmer who would develop it for me and co own the company and not just take my idea?
    Thanks

    Hi Ben -
You already have some really solid info from developers who know what they're talking about. What little I can add from my experience isn't intended to answer your question directly, but just to help you make your idea into something real.
Firstly if you haven't already guessed, your first stop should be your professor's office. Ask him if he feels your idea has commercial possibilities. If he encourages you to go in that direction, ask for his guidance. If he owns a successful business, he could be a vast resource of ideas, contacts, and even financing. Plus, the owner of a successful business isn't teaching college classes for the money. The only reason he's there is because he loves helping students. He might be delighted to mentor you and do everything possible to see you succeed.
Secondly, don't waste any more of your creative energy worrying about someone stealing your idea. There really is no way to protect most software unless you're a giant corporation with a staff of lawyers who have nothing better to do. Even if you never breathed a word about your plan and told your family you were writing a book while secretly developing software in your bat cave, sooner or later that software needs to be released for sale. Assume that the first 30 copies will be purchased by offshore entities whose entire business plan is based on copying software and then undercutting the originators (not saying this is true, just assume it, because it will liberate you from your fears so you can pour all your energy into the actual product).
Thirdly, it's easy to get a ballpark estimate from an honest developer without ever disclosing the core of your idea. Estimates depend on things like the number of screens, the need for communication with servers or other devices, the quality and quantity of artwork required, etc. You'll be able to judge who you're dealing with long before you need to disclose the purpose of your app.
Finally, if you have no finances and are looking for a team willing to accept equity, be realistic about the importance of your contribution. If all you have is the text of your class presentation, it might be unrealistic to expect a 50% position in a development effort worth 100 thousand USD. Ownership tends to depend on how much each party puts into the product.
The farther you take your idea by yourself, the more equity you'll have in the outcome. If you show up at a developer's door with a suitcase full of detailed functional diagrams, mockups or videos to show what each screen does, along with a killer business plan, you'll have something to bargain with.
Do you know why it's highly unlikely that someone else will run away with your idea? The real reason is you're the only one on Earth who is both excited and committed to your idea. Did you notice no one else in your class is posting in this forum today? As impressed as they were with your presentation, I'll bet all of them have returned to exactly the same life they had before that day. You're the only one in the class who's working on your idea.
Hope you find something in the above that's useful, and wishing you every possible success!
    \- Ray

  • App idea - Marquee

Reading tiny text is impossible for people with low vision. But there still might be a solution - marquee. This ap should scroll text on the screen in user-defined appearance and speed, making it possible even for people with weak eyes to read messages, notes, etc.
Here are some ideas for UI gestures:
    Tap: pause/resume
    Swipe up/down - increase/decrease speed
Swipe left/right - manually move through text (even in pause mode)
    Pinch - increase/decrease font size
Action menu would allow to set fg/bg colors, initial font size and speed.
If the marquee was built into system, it might be an alternative to common way of displaying texts (even in settings/menu screens) In this way, no strong glasses/optics would be required to handle this gear.

    Hello,
I'm a fresh owner of SW2, and I don't like its default setup. Even the clockface editor is not enough for me, since I can't customize clocks/widgets to suit my needs. I'D need to resize some, change font properties, etc. And what I'd really want to see, are seconds on the standby screen - I care about them sometimes.
So is there a way for detailed clock face editing, like it's possible in some clock widget creating apps for phones? That's what I need to be able to create a watch face good enough for regular, daily use.

  • Need a Coder for my App Idea

I have a great idea for an app. But, I am unexperianced, and am lacking some of the nessary matirals.
Basicaly my app is a gambling app. You have bids, that you can buy as In-App purchases. You click on the bid button and a random, four digit number is given each time you do so. Then, every day or week (undecided) a winning number is chosen. The person then wins half the total money earned, and we split 50-50 the remaing money.
Anyone want to help on this? E-Mail me if you are seriously interested for more on the design and such.

Hopefully I am right about this but gambling apps aren't allowed on the App Store.

Also, try your luck in the Developers forums. This isn't the greatest place to pitch dev ideas. I'm in the same boat as you, learning programming when I have the time. It's pretty fun.
