App installed but invisible

Hello,
on my iPhone 5s are lots of apps installed but most of them are not appearing resp. hidden on the home screen anymore.
I see all those apps within "Settings > General > Usage" listed but strangely only with their icon without the app name next to it.
Only the apps which are still shown on the home screen have their app name listed as well.
Any ideas ?
Thx in advance for your support,
Ralf

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.

IPad4: some apps installed but i can't find the icons!? They don't be possible to start!? - They are shown in AppStore - with grey open - but not possible to start!

Go to the home screen, and swipe left-to-right.  Type the app name in the search oval that appears, and see if it appears there.

  • Kindle app installed but no icon

Hi everybody -- I just got my iPad 2 the other day, and rushed to download the Kindle app.  The app store notes that the app has been installed, but I can't find the icon on the screen (I did scroll over and look at the second page of icons, but it's not there either).  Any ideas?  I'd be happy to uninstall and reinstall, but since I can't find the icon, I don't know what to do next.
    Any suggestions?

Have you tried a reset to see if it appears after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Apps installed but can't find them!

I have skygo and BBC I player apps on my iPad but overnight I cannot find the icons for the apps when I try to reinstall the apps it says I already have them installed but I can't find them to delete to then reinstall! Help me please where have they gone? Ps I have checked my folders and can't see them in there.... Hope someone can help.......

If you can't find them on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find them via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then are they hidden by an app age rating in Settings > General > Restrictions > Apps ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find them after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. You could also do Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout which will re-arrange your apps and might make them easier to find

I have 2 apps, Photoshop CC and After Effects CC installed but the Desktop Creative Cloud app does not recognise them and says I have not yet installed any apps? I have checked my Applications folder is selected in CC prefs as default but no see!! Any ideas?

Check your language settings. if the apps are installed in another language then the one set in the CCApp prefs, they will be listed as not installed...

  • App store shows apps installed but are not on my computer

I recently installed Mavericks on my mid-2012 MacBook Air and was updating my apps but found that the App Store shows a several apps as installed but are not currently on my computer.  I saw a couple previous notes that addresses a special process to deauthorize/reauthorize iTunes which is supposed to correct this but the note was written in 2012 and also refers to a special right-click function that isn't working in Mavericks.
Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks!
    Jim

Can you find the apps by searching for them by name in Spotlight?

  • My Google toolbar is installed but invisible. It has disappeared

The View tab says it is installed and there is a space where it should be in my browser, however it is invisible. I have Windows 7 and the latest version of Firefox. when I uncheck it in View, Toolbar, the space goes away. When I recheck, the space comes back (where the toolbar should be) but there is nothing there.

I signed into a wireless network today at a company that blocked the toolbar. When I signed into my regular network, I could not get the toolbar to show. Disabling/enabling add-ons didn't help. Uninstalling/reinstalling toolbar did not help. When View -> Google Toolbar is checked there is a gap where the toolbar should be.

  • ITunes showing app installed, but, it's not installed..

Kind of a weird issue I've never seen before... But... I did a fresh restore of my iPhone 4.. I've selected a bunch of apps that I want installed on my iPhone and some just aren't showing up in the iPhone at all..
This is where it gets weird.. If I look at the app icon preview thing in iTunes it shows it on the phone, but, on the phone there is no icon. I've tried rebooting (both phone and computer) closing in and out of iTunes and it still appears this way. Oddly enough, even if I unplug my iPhone and plug it back into iTunes, the app preview shows the specific app as installed even though it's not visible (or searchable) on my iPhone.
    Anyone else see this issue?

We had this problem, and it was mystifying me.  Finally figured it out:
Do you have restricitons on with your phone and is the app for an age range outside those restrictions?
We had trouble installing Kik (an instant messaging app), and we figured out that the app is rated for 17+.  I had set his app restriction to 12+. I guess he earned enough of my trust to upgrade the restriction.... voila!  Now the app is visible!
Hope this helps some parent out there who was beating their head against the wall to solve this problem.
