App installed halfway - now can't get rid of it

My wire got disconnected halfway installing an app. Now it's forever stuck at the 'waiting' status. I'd like to get rid of the app and put it on again, but I can't. There's no X for me to click on, when I'm on the iPhone to uninstall. iTunes uninstall by 'unchecking tick box' for the app doesn't seem to be working. When I go appstore, it says app already installed.

You downloaded the app with iTunes on your computer?
If so, no change after syncing your iPhone with iTunes with the app selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes - the app is not installed on your iPhone?
If not, the app is not completely removed from your iPhone after deselecting the app under the Apps tab followed by a sync?

You don't take the pictures off the PC you leave them there and tell iTunes that you don't want them on the iPad (by unchecking them) and then sync. That will delete the pictures from the iPad.

App store App shows a red 1 for an update which I already have installed. I can't get rid of it.

I think it is a bug. The problem and the question keeps coming up in these columns. The suggestion from Hackintosh is correct; part of the problem relates to other versions of an App being somewhere else in your computer, maybe Time Machine.
I've searched 'More like this' and tried answers like signing out and in again, all to no avail.

I have a Yahoo search bar acting like an App tab that I can't get rid of. There is no option to unpin when I right click on it.

I have a yahoo search bar which was installed during a download and installation of SIW.exe a system information application from http://gtopala.com/. It was the freeware version which is add based software. However I didn't expect that the search function would be such a nusance and interfere with Firefox's functions.
The search bar is acting like a App tab that I can't move or get rid of. Ther is no option to unpin the object when I right click on the bar or to change it in any way using the 'group your tab' function to the right of the tab tool bar.

Am running W7 so the XP Tools, Options, Advanced , Use Hardware acceleration when available, wasn't of much help here, however I did fix a problem on another computer running XP with that same fix. I accidentally duplicated app file? and can't get rid of the duplicate

I think I've done something silly, but I don't know how to fix it.
I suddenly wondered if I could organize FaceTime and Skype into a folder on my dock so that they wouldn't be taking up two slots for essentially the same function. In applications, I made a folder and dragged each of them in, but FaceTime seemed to copy/duplicate itself rather than moving (I guess because it's hardwired into Lion). I realized I couldn't put the folder in with the rest of my apps on the dock, only to the side with my downloads folder, so I wanted to put the apps back onto the dock individually and delete the folder. I dragged FaceTime from applications back onto the dock, worked fine, and I put the folder in the trash. When I went to empty the trash, it said the item FaceTime was in use, and when I opened up the trash, the icon for FaceTime was the little missing-application-image icon.
I dragged it from the trash to my desktop, then tried to put it into my applications folder to see if it could be deleted by putting it near the "real" application, to which the system responded, "FaceTime can't be modified or deleted because it's required by Mac OS X." So I can move it between the trash and the desktop, but I can't put it anywhere else or delete it. Get info says its file kind is an application, name being FaceTime.app, but its file size is only 78 KB, compared to the 15.6 MB identically named file in my applications folder.
What on earth did I do, and how do I get rid of this ghost that thinks its an app? If anyone can help, thanks.

TS1702 I have a problem with an app called GSN casino. It has appeared on my app screen and I can't get rid of it.

There is no way that I can see to get this supid thing off my app screen. I can't update apps I can't add new apps I can't do anything and I **** sure don't want this app.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Preview crashed while printing PDF, now can't get rid of PDF.

Hello, I need some help. The other day, I was making a PDF out of individual images in Preview, and while I was 'printing'/saving it as a PDF, I noticed that it was taking an abnormally long time. Preview then crashed. I tried to open the PDF, which I had saved to my Desktop, but I got (and still get) this error:
+Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize.+
I tried to delete it, so that I could start over again without having the same named file on my desktop, but when I empty the trash, I get the following error:
+The operation cannot be completed because the item "Acts 7.pdf" is in use.+
I would like to get rid of this thing, and make a new file once I redownload the images. Any assistance in deleting this, or at least finding out why it won't open, would be appreciated. Thank you!

Couldn't install CS4 Master Trial now can't get rid of it.

I was not successful at installing CS4 Master Collection Trial. I received installation errors for all of the applications on Disk2. Some form of 1620 error code. I called support. Was told that perhaps I had a corrupt disk, so they said they would send a replacement. They didn't. So rather than go through the queue again, I felt it was easier to just pony up another $16 and try again. Same result.
So I gave up and tried to reinstall Acrobat CS3 because Adobe in it's infinite wisdom, chooses to upgrade your Acrobat whenever a new version is introduced to the system. Problem being that since I couldn't successfully install CS4, I now had a non-working Acrobat.
So I called support again. (sorry, live-chat). After fully describing the issue, providing numerous proofs, serial numbers, customer ID's etc. The response came back. You need to uninstall the full CS3 suite and reinstall. Fine, I had nothing to do on my weekend. I could kill 8 hours working on this, so I uninstalled the CS3. This is of course AFTER I had uninstalled what did install of the CS4. And you know what? CS3 install wanted the CS4 disk 1 dozens of times. Guess the uninstall wasn't so complete after all.
So I got completely frustrated, went out and bought Win7 (Professional 64-bit). Figured I would do a complete wipe of my system. Install from "Gold" OS code. Stupidly I chose to try the CS4 trial. Figuring on a lark that perhaps now, on virgin territory, that it would in fact install. No such luck.
So I uninstalled again. I reinstalled CS3 Web Premium and was successful!! yeah! But hold on. I had bought InDesign CS3 separately as it didn't come with Web Premium. And you know what, InDesign installer wanted the CS4 Disk 1 again.
So I did a web search for a cleanup script for CS4, because I have been through this before with CS3. I found the cleanup script, and installed it. I found that there were 4 entries in the install log:

So I chose to uninstall InD first. No problem:

I have the exact same problem, same version of CS, and exact same error details.
In my case, I had CS4 installed and running fine for a couple of months, under Vista Ultimate 64 on a Gateway P-173XL FX laptop. Then my hard drive crashed and I rebuilt it from scratch, reformatting and reinstalling the OS.
CS4 was one of the first apps I tried to reinstall. I had some trouble with it, as the installation kept running into errors:
     Adobe Color JA Extra Settings CS4
     Error 1603. Internal error 2203.

Per advice from this forum, I downloaded and ran the CS4InstallerDatabaseUtility to make sure all vestiges of the failed installation were removed. Tried the installation again, and got:

Bootcamp install stuck, now can't get back to OS X

While installing XP pro, i realized I am missing my CD jacket and key...
so I cannot quit the install or continue it...
I tried restarting the mac, but it either wants to boot off the windows setup CD OR try to setup windows off the HD, and since I don't have my CD key, I'm trapped.
Holding OPTION key does not get me to the screen to choose to boot into OS X
And the WinXP cd is stuck in the drive on my mac Mini, so I can't install my Leopard disk.
Now what?? How can I escape this??

Hi,
first: to get the CD out of the drive, restart your Mac while hoilding down the Left-Mouse-Button. That should eject the Windows CD.
Second: try the Option-Key again during boot or as an alternative the 'X'-key.
Third: Use your OSX DVD for bootup ('C'-key).
