App is on iPod Touch under Search, but not the icon!

I downloaded a new app before deleting an old one to make space for it. The app store shows it 'installed' -- and I can find it and use it on my iPod Touch when I do a search.
I did delete some unused apps to make room for it and then did a sync with my computer and iTunes -- thinking the icon would automatically move into place afterwards. I saw the app icon on the screenpage when it was hooked up to the computer, updating, in the new space I created. But when I disconnected, the app icon was not on my Touch.
I did try downloading another app and that successfully installed without any problems.
Naive me thinks I need to delete and reinstall the app. It was free so no biggie. But how do you do that from the Touch search? Or is there another way?
THANKS!

Touch will only show 9 (11?) pages of apps. You can load more than that but the additional ones will only be accessible through the Spotlight search results.

    Hello Bobbie,
Have you authorized your iTunes library yet to play and sync your iTunes purchases? To do this, head to the Store drop down menu and choose Authorize This Computer.  Then enter in your iTunes store account credentials and then try resyncing your iPod.

  • How can I change the Apple ID that appears on my iPod Touch? It's not the correct ID.

Somehow the email address that appears as my Apple ID when opening my iPod Touch (5th gen) is not my correct email address/Apple ID.  How can I change my Apple ID withing my Touch so I can access apps?

You might have to transfer purchases to your account. If its signed in on a different account. Or,
    1. Go to iTunes on your iPod.
    2. Click music and scroll down to the bottom on your iPod.
    3. It should show the apple ID that's signed in, and press it and choose sign out.
    4. Then click sign in and it should work.
    Hope this helps.

  • When I try to play a song with the music app on my iPod Touch, some songs freeze at the beginning and my iPod touch becomes unresponsive to anything for up to twenty seconds.  Help?

    Hi all I'm new here.
My issue goes something like this.  When I use the standard music app to play some of my music (MOST from Beatport) on about half of the songs, my iPod will freeze and become unresponsive for up to a half minute.  After that, it normally brings me back to the playlist song selection that I was looking at previously.  I have an iPod Touch 5th Generation that is running iOS 6.1.2.  I have only three playlists, but all of the three have over 500+ unique songs on them.  (I normally don't keep duplicates of songs on my iPod)  I started to have this problem when I upated my old iPod Touch 4th Generation to iOS 6.0.0.  Ever since I got that update, half of my songs have not and will not play.
I have tried numerous times to reset my iPod (4th and 5th) and I even re-installed everything without using a backup.
Any help as to what will fix my problem?

  • My Ipod Touch will update but not recover  HELP!

I recently got an ipod touch from a family member who recieved an iphone and had no need for the touch.  She told me that I had to restore it and update it so that i can make it my own.  however when I try to turn it on the screen tells me to plug it into itunes....no problem there.  after plugging it into itunes I get a message saying that it is in recovery mode and that i have to update and recover.  so i begin the process..... Itunes says that it will take four or more hours.
4+ hours later it tells me that the process has finished but for some reason when i try to use it (or unplug it and plug it back in) Itunes tells me that it still needs to be updated and restored.  I have done this process about 6 times now hoping that it's just a kink that needs to be worked out.  PLEASE! PLEASE PLEASE!!!!  tell me that someone out there knows what is going on.  I have tried to call apple but as a woman who works grave yards, i never seem to get the hours right.

  • I just upgraded my iTunes to version 11 on Windows 7.  I lost all my Playlists.  They are still on my iPod touch 1st gen, but not in iTunes.  How can I get them back?

I tried importing the iTunes Music Library.xml file, however it just duplicates the default playlists already in iTunes.  The playlists are still on my iPod Touch, just not in iTunes 11.  Therefore, I cannot manage and organize any songs into the existing playlists.  I do not want to have to go through and manually create the playlists again.  Any suggestions would really be appreciated!!  Thank you!!

    Hello.
I found my playlists.  They were never removed.  It appears that iTunes 11 shows them in a different place.  Which is kind of annoying.  Even more annoying trying to add purchased songs to the playlists on your iPod.
    - Click on the iPod button on the top right of your screen (beside the iTunes Store button)
    - Click Playlists along the middle of the top of the iTunes window
There are the playlists from your iPod
Kind of frustrating to add the songs, but the way I did it is:
    - Click on the song you want to add to your iPod playlist from your iTunes library
    - Click the arrow beside the song and select "Add to Up Next"
    - Go to your iPod playlists as per the above instructions
    - Click on the list icon in the same bar as the Apple icon on the top of the window (it is to the right of the apple     icon)
    - Now drag that song to the playlist(s) on your iPod
I am sure there is a much simpiler way....I just dont have time to figure it out right now.  If anyone has any simpiler way of doing this, please reply!!

  • Ipod touch works fine but not nano?

    Heya,
I've got a 4th generation ipod that I bought for my dad and I have an ipod touch (1st gen). I have no problems w/ the touch as it is easily recognised in iTunes however the ipod nano is not being recognised at all either by Windows 7 (64-bit) or iTunes. I didn't have this problem in Vista with the nano at all.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I don't think it's the apple usb driver as the iPod touch is detected and can be sync'd. I've disabled all other services to try to narrow it down and still no luck.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

Hmmm. The touch uses the Apple Mobile Device Service for syncing and whatnot, but the nano would be using the iPod Service. So if there was trouble with the iPod Service on the PC, you could have trouble with your nano even though the Touch is working fine.
Let's have a look at your iPod Service in Services.
In your Start menu, right-click "Computer" and select "Manage". Expand "Services and Applications" and click "Services". Maximise the Window so you can see what's going on.
Find the iPod Service in the list of services. What is currently showing up next to it? For example, I see "Started" and "Manual".

  • How Do I Keep Music On Ipod Touch 4th Gen., But Not On Computer?

Yes, hello, I am wanting to cut down on the amount of space that is on my computer (I almost have 3GB in music and photos on my laptop.. lol, mostly music, though).  However, the problem I see with this right off the bat is that if I delete my music and photos (since they are also on my 4th generation ipod touch), they will be deleted of my ipod.  I know that I can manually manage music, and I know how to do that.  What I need to know is if there is a way that when I go to 'sync' my ipod manually, if I can just update with NEW songs and NEW photos- or, pretty much just 'sync' newly added files (that way, the newly deleted files will not be taken off my ipod).  If I go and 'uncheck' a playlist, it automatically will take it off my ipod.  What I really would like is an option to just add new material to each playlist, or add a new playlist, but not sync the whole ipod or the whole playlist (since, again, it would just end up deleting my songs that would no longer be on my computer).
I really don't mind itunes, however, I'm already figuring I will have to more than likely find a way to add my new songs and photos to my ipod WITHOUT itunes  (since this type of ipod, 4th generation touch, does not have the 'hard disk' feature, I need to know if there is any other way to upload music and photos).
However, if possible, I still want to be able to have the option to add to previous playlists and even create new playlists on Itunes so I can delete files off my computer, but not my ipod.  I just think it is a little inconvienant that with all of these high storage capacity ipods that they don't make it more clear on HOW to have that much space on the ipod WITHOUT filling up and slowing down my computer in the process
Also, I probably could just back-up my music and photos on my flashdrive (it is a 32GB), however, out of curiosity-  even if I AM able to find a way to delete songs and photos off my computer and still keep them on my ipod while still being able to add new songs and photos and create and add to previous playlists WITHOUT having to do a full sync, will there even be a way for my Icloud to NOT be affected and delete the now 'missing from itunes' songs and photos?  I am a firm believer that multiple back-up sources do not hurt (esp. since my flashdrive I've had for a few years now, and ICloud isn't a bad option for a secondary storage- although, I perfer skydrive)

Since you said "btw my ipod is frozen " first:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If you regained use of the iPod without restoring (doubtful, restoring will also update the iPod)) then do the following:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
When you restore from backup the iPod will also be updated.

  • HT1386 Why is the IPod Touch syncing photos but not music?

I try to sync the IPod Touch but it skips over Determing Tracks and does not sync any music. The capacity bar would show how much audio is there in GBs but then it disappears after it finishes syncing. Please and thank you

I am well aware that setting was on the iPod before iOS 5! My question is why is it missing? Because right now, Apple is selling the AV Composite cable claiming it's compatible with the iPod Touch (4th Gen) and it's not. Thank you!

  • Ipod Touch Recognizes WIFI but not password

I have a new 32gb Ipod Touch. At home I am trying to connect to my wifi. It recognizes my network. I try to connect to the network, type in the password, and it says "incorrect wifi password" Although I know it is the correct one, and I tried multiple times just in case I typed something wrong (the caps and lowercase are used on the correct letters as well). Anyway, any ideas or solutions help. Thanks.

What make/model router do you have?
What security type are you using (WEP, WPA, WPA2)?
If you are using 64 or 128 bit WEP the password must be exactly 5 or 13 characters long or it may be hashed to a different binary value by different operating systems. Also a WEP key must be key 1 to work with the iPad.
If you are using WEP you should consider dropping it and moving to WPA2. WEP has been deprecated by the WiFi Alliance since 2004 as insecure.

  • IPod found under diagnostics but not in iTunes

I have a reoccuring problem using iTunes 7.02.16
From time to time the iPod is not visible in iTunes, but when I choose "help" and "iPod diagnostics" there are 4 green buttons. "iPod connection" status green.
Usualy this problem is fixed by reinstalling iTunes and rebooting. But not anymore.
If I format the player in a DOS window (FAT32) the player is recognized and I have to "Restore system". When the player reboots and the firmware should be installed, it's no longer found in iTunes.
I have rebooted twize and reinstalled iTunes but no matter what, I can't reconnect and transfer any music.
In this case it's a 1GB nano, but I have had the same problem with the 2GB and the 4GB and the 8GB version. I think this may be a Nano problem.
Anyone else experienced this problem and how is it fixed?
    P4 3Ghz   Windows XP

Yes, that doesn't see to be the problem.
My iPod has reset itself now, wiping out all the music, and still it isn't showing up in iTunes. When I plug it in, it shows up on the desktop and opens iTunes, but does not update.
