App Lock application problem
i downloaded an app called APP LOCK from bb app world. I paid for it in April. It was functioning fine. Until I started switching back and forth btwn CDMA and my HSPA BB. Two weeks ago I switched to my hspa blackberry the app stopped functioning. Saying my trial and expired so I tired putting in the code for the purchased app it didn't recognize it. Then it sent me to a website to put my email in to show that I purchased the app. When I put in my email it says it doesn't recognize it. I have the original email about the purchase I've also emailed the apps support team a few teams to no avail I have a response. I am frustrated because I paid for it and it doesn't work saying I need to buy it! What do i do? Do I get a refund this is an inconvenience to me because I can't use it and I paid for something that should work.
Part of the support agreement between Telus and RIM involves BlackBerry App World purchases. Simply call Telus tech support and explain the problem. They should be able to help you out from there.

Does anyone make an app / folder in which I can keep other apps locked behind a password?
Are there any iPhone APPs / folders that I can keep other APPs locked up behind a password?
This seems to be one of many shortcomings that Apple fails to address. I don't know, maybe it is impossible to do this in the iOS?
This was the main reason I dumped the iPhone, I still have an iTouch because iTunes is unmatched...but I bought an Android phone and avoided the iPad for a Motorola Android Xoom tablet.
Android has more app locking applications than I can count! Kinda important when you have your e-mail or your Facebook, or even your period tracking app on there BUT want your 6 or 9 year old to be able to play a game every once in a while and not have to hover over them in case they push the wrong icon.
I just LOVE the responses from Apple Manics whose solution is: "Just don't let them use it!" "Keep it away from them" and especially the one response I found on here "Why would you need to lock an individual app?" Just go to the Android market and see how many "app locker" options there are and how many times they have been downloaded. This is a HUGE issue with Apple iProducts....every kid wants to play with it, with an App locker, a parent can be free to make them happy without them seeing your private stuff. -

Just won't give up, eh? If I were you I'd contact the developers of the app you used on the old BB device and ask them why they don't support the BB10 device. BB isn't going to develop this natively when they already have a password lock feature on the device.

When trying to launch ITunes I get an error message saying that application fail to start because MSVCR80.dll file not found. Reinstalling app may fix problem.
I've just (finally) managed to fix this problem today. I checked the Apple Support forums, and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem.
I rang the Apple Support line, and the very helpful man (thanks Alan!) talked me through it stage by stage. If you go to the following page on the internet: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376 it takes you through the process. WARNING - it takes a little time!
Basically, the first thing you have to do is go to your Program Files and double click on your iTunes folder. There'll be a number of files with the suffix .dll - you need to move all the .dll files from that folder to your desktop - you can simply click and drag them on the desktop..
Next, uninstall iTunes - go to Control Panel / Add/Rempve Programs and when the list comes up remove iTunes. This will take a few minutes... Then reboot your computer.
Next, go back to Control Panel / Add Remove and Remove - IN THIS ORDER -

Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot again!
Next, check in your Program Files that the iTunes folder is completely gone - if it has, great: if it hasn't, right-click on the folder and press Shift and Delete - it will say "Are you sure you want to completely remove the folder "iTunes"? Click on "Yes".
Reboot!
Then go to the iTunes download page and voila! It should download iTunes without any problems... well it did for me.... Good luck! -

Hi!! i have a problem with my iphone 4, i decided install an app from appstore and this aplicattion have 700 MB, i didn´t realized and i downloaded from 3G, i didn´t use Wifi and now this applicatition is locked in my iphone, my iphone sent me a notification that i have to use a Wifi, so i connected the Wifi of my iphone but its the same, don´t work, in the screen appears this applicattion like loading, but not load. Then i decided download the application from itunes and sync with my iphone...i downloaded but when i sync the iphone with the itunes not work...
Finally i decided restore my iphone and at the first works, yes... but in five minutes when my iphone wants to connect with the appstore ask me my password and then the app locked again. i don´t know what to do... i can´t to use this applicattion, always loading.

Thanks!You can only do it over wifi and if it is 700mb it is going to take a while. If it says "loading" then it will load, given enough time on a wifi connection. However, for an app that large you need to be aware that it will need 2-3 times it's actual size in available space on the phone to actually install (you get that back once the install is complete.) But you're going to need about 2.5GB of available space to get it installed.

I have iPhone app store downloading problem (iOS 5). I could not download or update any software successfully from yesterday. Every app shows "waiting for download" but nothing happen for two days. It seems my app store does not connect to server. I use same account in my iPad, but it works normal. So, what happen to my iPhone? Please help me!

How do I resolve LOCKED DISKS problem ? NO ACCESS ANYMORE !

I've looked carefully where to post this topic,
and I hope it's the right place here
(I have already been warned not to post the same questions in different places).
I have actually 2 internal volumes locked, 2 external Firewire volumes locked and 2 USB external volumes locked. I'm talking about *5,7 To* with *NO ACCESS* anymore.
It happened suddenly, and I was working on Snow Leopard 10.6.3 internal drive. This volume is the *only one* that has NOT been locked, but I lost a lot of applications, documents and so on on it.
Each of the locked volumes I am talking about shows,
in *Sharing & Permissions* (Get Info window),
the same Privileges :
— everyone : Custom
— admin : Custom
— olcha (Me) : Custom
— staff : Custom
— everyone (again) : Custom
You'll notice that "System" is not there (should be there with R+W),
and "admin" should have also R+W privilege.
I don't know why "staff" is here (perhaps, one day, somebody will explain to me the difference between : wheel, staff and admin).
I also don't know why "everyone" is there two times.
If I unlock the padlock (bottom right) with my password, I can only
check or uncheck the "Ignore ownership on this volume" square (bottom left).
Doing this (apparently) offers *no interest at all* to solve the problem
(and what does this function produce, when activated or not ?).
I can't *absolutely not* :
• Change *any privilege* of any of the 5 items ;
• Remove (with "-") any of these items ;
• Add a line (for example "System" or "wheel", why not ?)
but nothing new is shown after "+" making.
• The wheel (on the right of "+" and "-") shows only "revert changes" in grey.
I phoned immediately last thursday Apple Assistance,
and I am in contact with a Level 2 Apple Adviser who gave me his e-mail.
I sent him two messages, but he replied me that perhaps MONDAY
he could find the time to call me.
Now, first, please tell me if you have any idea or solution !

You know that, in Disk Utility, you can erase a disk or partition.
If, in "Security Options…", I choose "Don't Erase Data", and then "Erase…" :
1) Sharing and Permissions will be changed and become (reset to) correct ;
2) It's said, in "Security Options…",
that "many commonly available disk recovery applications can restore that data".
I would be very glad that you indicate me :
1) the best application to use for that recovery ;
2) I already own "Drive Genius 3.0", "Data Rescue 3.0.2" and
(I think it's the best after a try on an internal 30 Go partition)
"Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery".

I won't copy here the texts that are on both sites, but it's very instructive.
Remember that the applications don't only work on files and folders,
*but also on disks attributes*.
You'll also have some work to do (I don't remember, perhaps not), by going in the Get Info windows
and changing privileges to the correct ones, that means you must know
(I'm not sure, verify please) what privileges are to be set for a volume
(YOU WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THEM, AND CHANGES YOU MAKE WON'T BE RESET TO "CUSTOM").
Does anybody know something about the "Ignore ownership on this volume" checkbox ?
*I always uncheck it*.
I would also like very much to know the differences between the two-headed iconed groups :
"staff", "wheel" and "admin", and IN THE END know *WHERE are the rules* you have to observe

HT203421 Since installing Yosemite 10.10 the Apps Store application on my iMac does not work
installing Yosemite 10.10 the Apps Store application on my iMac does not work properly. Applications show up in the App Store window to be updated but in fact most of them do not download and install. Some 3rd party software does download and install but most Apple and HP Applications do not. They appear in some cases in both the Ready to update or install list and in the "Installed in the last 30 days list". In some cases when I click on "Update" it shows in the "Installed in the Last 30 Days list" but it is not installed. In the case of the latest Yosemite 10.10.3 beta down load, it momentarily show up like it is downloading but then disappears and does not install.
I am now using Yosemite 10.10.2 and am trying to install the beta Download Yosemite 10.10.3 hoping it will resolve my problem but starts to download from the App Store snd then quits.

Java apps lock up on Windows 7 64 bit
3rd party Java apps and apps I've developed all seemed to be very buggy on one of my 64 bit windows 7 machines with JRE 1.6. I can run them in an XP VM on the same computer with no problems. Some apps lock up immediately and others it's just a matter of time before they lock up. I've searched and searched but haven't seen this issue anywhere else and don't have this problem on my 64 bit Windows 7 machine at home. Does anyone have any idea what might cause this? I'm at a loss and since it's my work PC with the problem I have to test Java apps in the XP VM which is a pain.

App Locker: admin user (non-admin token) unexpected run behavior
As an administrative user with a filtered token (not choosing Run As Admin), when I double-click an .exe residing in a location that no App Locker rule would allow a non-admin token to run - I expect to see the application blocked by App Locker, but it runs
instead.
Background:
No App Locker rule exists that would allow the .exe file's location (on my administrative user's desktop) or any of the other .exe's I'm able to run from my user's profile directory. I checked several of these with ProcExp and they all show
BUILTIN\Administrators = DENY on the security tab.
The only App Locker rule that would allow me to run this is the default rule for BUILTIN\Administrators.
I have verified with ProcExp that the current Explorer.exe is running with a filtered token (BUILTIN\Administrators is denied).
My administrative user is a member of a group, Workstation Local Admins, which is a member of BUILTIN\Administrators. I am not expecting this to match the Default rule for BUILTIN\Administrators.
UAC group policy is configured as follows and I have verified this policy is applied to this system and registry keys have been set to match by group policy processing: ENABLED -> [Admin Approval Mode, Only elevate UIAccess applications...secure locations,
Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode, Switch to secure desktop when prompting..., Virtualize file and registry write failures...]; DISABLED -> [Allow UIAccess applications to prompt...without using the secure desktop, Detect application installs...,
Only elevate executables...signed and validated]; PROMPT FOR CONSENT -> [Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators..., Behavior of elevation prompt for standard users]
AppIDSvc is running and seems healthy
all rules categories are set to enforce
So what is going on here? App Locker event log happily reports that all these "were allowed to run" - but how are the rules evaluating to allow them to run?

Row lock contention problem on Inventory Management

My client is product based company and have e-Commerce (online Sale Order) application using Oracle database 10.2.0.5 & Web application deployed on WLS. Client have ~ 90 Warehouse country wide and ~ 200 Products (Items). Each product stock for each warehouse is maintained in Inventory Table (INV_BALANCE) which get updated for each order and their sale's products. We are using NO WAIT function to acquire lock on row to update stock balance. Last few months, client business is growing very fast and during Promotional Events (EXPO), they have sales of ~ 75K orders (~ 250K Items) within 2-3 days which start causing row lock contention problem on INV_BALANCE table. We are seeing lots of "Row Lock Wait" and "enq: TX - row lock contention" event which cause ORA-00060: Deadlock detected and we need to eventually clear blocking sessions or everything just choked.

I saw you are using FOR UPDATE in your query.
If you want reduce row locks, then you not must use FOR UPDATE.
As you know, FOR UPDATE is locking rows.

Whenever I click on the Mac App Store icon in my dock, I get the spinning wheel for a minute and a half. It then loads. While in the App Store application, it takes a minute and a half to switch from "featured" to "top charts" for example. Nothing else on my 24" iMac takes that long to load. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Drag the App Store app from the Applications folder to the Trash. Drag the App Store icon off the Dock. It should go "poof"..
Download and install the v10.6.7 combo update.

That should re install the Mac App Store for you. It's ok to do this even if you are already running v10.6.7
If the combo did not re install the MAS for you use Pacifist to extract the MAS from the v 10.6.7 .dmg folder.
