  • Apps are disappearing off my iPhone and I can't get them back.

Hi, apps are disappearing off my iPhone and I can't get them back. Spotify, Shazam, BBC iPlayer and the Maps app have just gone. I have tried to redownload them from the App Store but there isn't the option, cant get them back with iTunes either. Help!

I wish it was as simple as that. I have tried to redownload them but they are marked as installed.
I have even gone into iTunes and in the app tab untucked the disappeared apps, synced, then reticked the apps. This is where the strangest thing happens, the app appears on my iPhone, the progress bar goes from zero to the top, then, when the app should be installed, it disappears.
So far Spotify, BBC iPlayer, the Maps app, iFooty, and probably some apps I'm not aware of are affected.
Interestingly, the apps have also gone from my wife's iPhone which is on the same Apple I'd, but they haven't gone from my iPad which is also on the same Apple I'd.

After I restart my phone, all apps are disappear including setting, contacts, and call icon and etc. can someone help me?  The phone now only remain two apps. I try to search using the phone serch engine but when i click on the result, there is a message pop out as: Unsupported URL

Failing that, reset the phone: hold down Sleep and Home buttons until the Apple logo is displayed.  No data is lost.

  • Apps are disappearing

My apps are disappearing.  I installed my apps that I use VERY frequently, however they keep disappearing.  I have to re-install them, several times now! Very frustrating.
I first was using App2SD pro to move my apps to "media area" and noticed it was those that I moved.  Well I stopped doing that and moved what I could back to the phone.  Well after the 500th install of ChompSMS and Dolphin Browser, I am starting to get VERY angry.
What the heck is going on?!?
Reboots, battery pulls, nothing helps keep them in place.

I have had the same issue! Even replaced the phone. I haven't used any App to move my apps to the "media area", just the native app manager. It seems to only "forget" the apps that have been moved as far as I can tell. After the app has been "forgotten", if you check the "media area" it still shows and the "move to phone" button is active. However, when you press it, it tells you the app is not installed! As it is still quite new, I am not sure what the pattern with the loss. It may have something to do with using the "mass media" setting when connected to the PC. I do know that when in this mode, the phone can't recognize the SD card or whatever is stored there. I ABSOLUTELY love this phone. But, these issues are extremely annoying, ESPECIALLY since it has been "coming soon" for nearly a year!
Now I have had the Incredible since it came out, and teach those people in my company that have android phones (at least 300-400) how to use them. I have used/setup/configured almost every model that has come out, so I am very familiar with them. I can honestly say that I have never seen this issue before. I believe it may be related to how the bionic sees the actual SD card as "sdcard-ext" and the internal phone storage as "sdcard", But I'm not completely certain about that.

  • Hi, i had backed up my data and then when i restored my phone with the restore backup option, all the photos, music where there but no apps. Al my apps are disappeared. Can you please tell me where are my apps backed up?

Hi, i had backed up my data and then when i restored my phone with the restore backup option, all the photos, music where there but no apps. Al my apps are disappeared. Can you please tell me where are my apps backed up?

Apps (like other synced media like music) are not included in the backup that iTunes makes. Thus, restoring from backup if the apps are not in the iTunes library there are no apps to restore to the iPod.
Redownload the apps into your iTunes library.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    And then restore from backup.
Make sure that in iTunes>Preferences>Devices the box that say "Prevent iPods..." is checked otherwise when you connect the iPod to the computer the previous backup (with your app data) might be overwritten.

  • When I launch iBooks, it wants my iTunes password. Apps are disappearing!

Every time I launch iBooks, it wants my iTunes password. If I click Cancel, some of my books disappear. When I leave iBooks, some of my apps are gone too. The only way to get everything back is to plug my iPad back into my MacBook and resynchronize.
Does anyone else have this problem. Better yet, does anyone else know how to make it go away?
I should point out that this happens when I launch iBooks and the wooden bookshelf appears. It has nothing to do with the Bookstore. I have no pending purchases in the Bookstore, iTunes Store, or App Store.

I am having the same problem, every time I leave the app on my ipad and re-open it I get the itunes prompt asking for my password, I haven't tried hitting cancel, but from what you have said I will not, but it is really a pain to have to sign in to open the book every time, my kindle app doesn't do that.

  • My apps are disappearing

WIthout doing anything I noticed my apps disappearing. First I noticed my YELP app gone, then Netflix app gone, then Instagram gone! I did not delete them because I use these apps frequently. I went to itunes to sync my apps and it shows that I have them on my phone but they won't appear on my phone. Where are they and what happened? Are they invisible on my iPhone but visible on itunes?

  • Calculator & EMAIL apps are gone in my 6300!!!

    Hi everybody!
I'm new here, but have a big big problem, so if anyone knows the solution, please make no scruples...
I had installed a JAVA application (something **bleep**) onto my 6300, and after this app failed, the phone restarted, popped up a big VODAFONE logo (never seen before, although my service provider is VF).
AND after the phone was ready after restarting, I discovered that the Calculator and the EMAIL applications are missing! Right after I turn on the phone and I'd begin to write a new message a warning appears: "After turning the phone on while the "Message storage memory not ready".
I think it's normal, if I have tons of messages stored, but the two applications, mentioned above can be seen, while this warning message is active. If I would like to start one of these apps while the warning message is active, it says, "Application not found". Right after of the storage problem disappears, the Calc & EMAIL apps are disappear too, and it can never be seen anymore.
I tried to upgrade the phone's firmware three times with three different versions, but nothing solved the problem :-(
Please, if you have any idea, what is it, please, write...
YOU are my last esperance! :-(
    Thanks a lot,
    gmagich

Photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync process are stored in the iPhone's Photo Library. Regardless if transferring a single folder or multiple folders of photos from your computer, all photos are stored in the Photo Library. The photos in the folder or folders below include pointers only to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. The photos are not duplicated as in taking double the storage sapce. This way you can view the photos in an folder or album only by selecting the album, or you can view all photos transferred from your computer by selecting Photo Library. Photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync process cannot be deleted direct from the iPhone. These photos are removed from the iPhone in the same way they were transferred to the iPhone - via the iTunes sync process.
Photos cannot be transferred to the Camera Roll via the iTunes sync process.
Photos can be placed in your Photo Stream on your computer making them available in your Photo Stream on your iPhone. Your existing Photo Stream should not have been touched.

  • I updated my iPad to iOS 6 I face a problem to retrieve  my books in the iBooks and the videos as well all the other apps are fine , I am sure I did back up, the books appear for a second in the iBook then disappear? Thanks

I updated my iPad2 to iOS 6 I face a problem to retrieve  my books in the iBooks and the videos as well . All the other apps are fine with full data. I am sure I did back up to my friend's mac book pro .The books appear for a second in the iBook then disappear? Thanks

They gave me a brand new phone and I logged into all of my iCloud stuff, etc...
When I try to go onto the Internet it will say its loading, loading, loading, then give up. Pandora has given up after one song. All other apps that need to connect to Internet or networks load and load and then give up. I will double tap the one button and close out all the apps and it may work for a second but no more. Then I will turn the phone off and the same thing happens.
I have run out of ideas.

  • I restarted my mac and many apps and files disappeared. It's like it booted to a state several months ago. My CS 5 apps are not in the dock or applications folder. Has this ever happened before and what can I do?

It's like it booted to a state it was in several months ago. My CS 5 apps are not in the dock or applications folder. Has this ever happened before and what can I do?
The files on my desktop are not the ones that were there when I shut down. It's like it's gone back in time.
My display's power supply got fried (I think) in a power outage so I bought a new one. However, every time I restart the display usually stays black. I have found I need to keep rebooting until it kicks in and starts working. I unplug everything, wait a while (a few minutes to overnight) and try booting again.
This last time the display finally came on but I'm faced with this problem. I used to use time machine, but I deleted everything and disabled it a couple months ago or more so I'm at aloss as to why the mac is booting into the state it was in sevearl months ago.
What could I have done to cause this? Has this ever happened to anyone else and is there a solution?
Note: I did a search for a file I knew was created today. I found it and it showed that it was a file I had saved on the desktop this morning--even though that file's icon is not appearing on the desktop now.
I did a search for photoshop and saw my CS5 version listed.
However, I did a couple more searches and these files no longer appear in the search. I don't know if they're there or not. This is bizarre!
    I'm on a Mac Pro, 10.6.2.

Thanks for the obvious question. I mean it. The very same thought came to me this morning and, sure enough, I had booted into another drive--my old one that, of course, had the old desktop, etc.
It didn't dawn on me that this was the case since I hadn't set it as a boot drive but I guess in the course of all the restarts I did, it got switched.
    I'm back to normal again.

I upgraded to ios7 on my iphone 4s and now many of my apps are prompting me to connect to itunes for push notifications. In most cases, i can just click ok to this prompt and carry on, but it is still a real nuisance. However with the app dropbox and find my phone, I can not get out of the prompt. I have to reboot my phone to be able to use it again. Any suggestions?

  • All of my apps are gone, and I'm having trouble with iCloud

Let me preface this by saying that Apple made me change my password a few days ago, before I downloaded the new IoS software. So I synced my music, videos and apps to my PC this afternoon before downloading the new software. I downloaded the software, and now my apps are missing from my iPad AND my PC, even after I synced them. To make things even more confusing, when I entered my new password, it said it was invalid. I entered my old one, and it worked. No apps there. And I tried verifying my Apple ID, I clicked the link and filled out the info, and it said there was already a user with my e-mail. I'm trying to re-access it, and it says it still hasn't been verified on my iPad. What do I do?
Edit: Never mind, everything is fine now.

That's because your son's ID was used to make the purchases.  ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.  Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password.  Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another.

Restore.  Everything is restored except the password.  Note that a Restore can take quite a while.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
When the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad.  Say "YES" and be prepared for a long wait (several hours).  That prompt has a timer and will disappear if you do not respond to it within a reasonable time.  If you leave the computer and return and see that the iPad has only the built-in apps, simply click the manual "Sync" button (bottom right).
