I just bought "boulder madness" on my bold, i have the reciept and everything but when i try to find it on my playbook i cant find it, when i search it, it says i have to purchase it again!! Can someone please help me with this issue.

The vendor can choose whether the app is the same product on various devices or not. They could publish seperate products for each individual device, language, carrier, if it makes sense. Or they could bundle them all under one product. As the PlayBook and BB7 phone apps are very different, vendors often publish them as different products too. In that case, you'd have to buy the app for each platform.

New iTunes buys wont sync from phone to computer - Help please!!

When I have tried to sync up my phone to my laptop I have found that some of the music and films that I have downloaded to my phone don't come through to my laptop. Basically my question is if I restore my phone to the previous backup, will I lose everything that I have bought since that last backup? Or is there some way of getting them back from the store if I've already paid for them?
Sorry for being dense but I've had an Iphone for over 3 years now and this is my 1st problem so I've never needed to investigate further! - I'm one of the lucky ones ;0)

If you have Sync Music selected under the Music tab, Sync Movies selected under the Movies tab, sync TV Shows under the TV Shows tab (you aren't manually managing music and video with your iPhone), and you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading a song, a movie, a tv show, and a 3rd party app direct with your iPhone, the song, movie, tv show, and 3rd party app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
No iTunes content on your iPhone is included with your iPhone's backup. All iTunes content on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer. If you are manually managing music and video with your iPhone, then is a manual process in both directions. You must manually transfer music and movies/tv shows from your iPhone to your iTunes library. This will not be done automatically by iTunes for music and videos when manually managing music and videos - manual means manual all the way in this regard.

Depending on the size of the app or the connection speed when using Wi-Fi it could take a little longer to download. You can also try to download it onto your computer, might be faster, and sync it to the phone after that.

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

If you can you can choose the None option and only put the card info in when you want to buy something. It also makes your account less suceptable to hackers as there is nothing that they can use to buy anything.

Safe mode is not what you want in this case. Reboot to recovery mode - hold down cmd-R as the Mac reboots. Go past the language-selection screen, click the Utilities menu, then Terminal. Type:
resetpassword
Followed by the return key, and follow the prompts. Reboot normally when done.

Having trouble importing videos from phone to mac. Please help?

I was trying to transfer video from my iphone to my Mac and nothing is happening. When i try to quit iphoto i get the message
"Photos are being imported to the photo library. Please wait to import to complete."
Not sure what to do. Tried restarting the computer to no avail.
Note that I am very computer challenged.

Apps crash 30s-2m iPhone 3GS Help please

I have a 3GS and updated to 4.3.5 last week. Things were fine (even last night) until this morning. I was listening to my Stitcher app as usual this morning and it kept turning itself off after a minute or two. Then I realized this was happening with all my apps. Even "Settings" will close out after a few seconds. iPod, also. Sometimes the app/program just hangs, but usually it starts normally and then just stops and I'm returned to the home screen.
I have turned on/off; done soft reset; restored to original settings and then restored to backup. Unfortunately the backup was from 11am today (my phone auto-synced everytime I connected it to my computer - thanks to this board, I now have that turned off). The problem persists.
I have tried the "download a free app" solution and unfortunately that did not work for me.
Suggestions?

Argh. I thought the battery problem/hot phone was fixed, but it is not. My battery has drained out in 4 hours, without using any Apps (because they won't stay open)

Cannot publish from iWeb to .Mac, Help please!

I am trying to publish to my site from here in Australia. I was able to publish in the country at the beggining of the trip, but can not now. I get the message "Publish Error - an error occurred while publishing file /Web/Site/iWeb/Site/Blog". I had updated two blog entries and changed the date on an entry. Since then in trying to fix the issue I deleted both of those entries. I have been through .mac support troubleshooting steps to ensure it is not a network error. I have been able to publish to a folder, but when I try to copy the Blog folder from that folder to my iDisk I get "The Finder cannont complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written (Error code -36)". Since then they asked that I try to publish from a trial .Mac account or from a new OS X user account on my machine. Both of those attempts failed as well, which they say indicates it's not a .mac account or OS X user set up issue. They asked that I put a copy of my domain file out in the public drive for them to look at, but when I try to do that it goes through and does the copying and then freezes at "Copying Domain.zip to Public, Copied 599.5MB of 599.5MB (Closing file...) - Please wait". Then I get the same error code -36 and am disconnected from iweb. Can anyone out there help please?

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you too! I have experienced both modem/network problems and was unable to publish in Tahiti and Cook Islands because of that and now these problems which have nothing to do with network it seems - so yours may or may not be network related. I was able to cheat and copied my "Site" folder from my hard drive to my iDisk rather then publishing. I can't remember if you've tried this or not (read a lot of strings today) but you can publish to a folder and then copy that folder to your iDisk at /Web/Sites/iWeb/Site as "Site" after first renaming the one that is out there now. Let me know if you have any questions on how to do it. It sounds like you are traveling like we are and anxious to communicate with friends and family back home. When you are bored, our site is web.mac.com/baganworldtour.
At least we now have our first update out there in two weeks. But it took almost two hours to copy the folder and this won't work forever. Hopefully we, whether by the discussion room or .mac support next week, will be able to fix the problem for real.

There is nothing you can do to locate, lock or erase your dataif you didn't activate Find My iPhone. (What did you thing the purpose doing so was??)
What you can do now is report the loss to your carrier and get service disconnected, as well as report to your local police.

Apps that became iOS 4-only are deleting previous app copies from phone

I've noticed that newer versions of apps that became iOS-4-only have been causing the previous iOS 3.1.x compatible version of the app to be deleted from the iPhone when syncing. I assume this is because the newer version of the app is not backwards compatible with iOS 3.1.x, so iTunes tries to replace the app on the phone with nothing, thereby deleting it.
Is there a way to prevent this? An example of this behavior is iPassword Pro 3.1.1 to 3.5 on an iPhone with OS 3.1.2.

got my apps back!! while my ipad was plugged into itunes i clicked on my device, selected the Apps tab. It listed the 5 pages of apps I should have on my ipad. I moved the last app i actually had currently on the ipad to the bottom of the last page of what I should have had on the ipad. I applied it, it went thru a Sync and they are all back on now hope it helps you!
