App purchase problem w/download

I just purchased an app in itunes and my download icon on my phone is just sitting there turning.  It should have downloaded by now.  What could be the problem?

Have you tried swiping to a different screen? Have you looked to see if it ended up in folder somewhere? Try swiping to another screen to see if you can find it.
You can connect the iPad to you computer and launch iTunes, select your iPad on the left side under - Devices - click on the Apps tab at the top of the iTunes window on the right - and you can see all of your apps on the various screens.

  • In-app purchase won't download.  What do I do other than ask for a refund?

My in-app purchase hasn't downloaded.  Can I do it manually or should I just ask for a refund?

Are you on wifi or cellular? Cellular has download size limits that may be part of the issue.
You can also look on the app's support page and see what they recommend.

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here.
If you have a problem with an app that the developer can't/won't help you with then you will need to contact iTunes Support, either as described on the page that you posted from, or via the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem

Are in app purchases available for download in family sharing

No.  From Which purchased content can I share using Family Sharing - Apple Support:
There are a few things that you can't share:
Songs added to iTunes Match from outside the iTunes Store
    In-App Purchases
Items that are no longer available on the iTunes Store
    Items that were hidden
    Apps that aren't shareable

  • What is the license for an App Store App?  In-App Purchase?  Re-downloads?

    Hello All!
I purchased an iPhone 3G when they initially came out. My wife bought one (and uses my iTunes account on it exclusively) about six months later. I couldn't find and understand what the licensing agreement was about installing the same app on multiple devices. I wanted to be legal and do it right, but I knew I could download the same app on both phones (with a single purchase) since they both use the same iTunes account.
I asked the iTunes store support via e-mail for a clarification of the policy since I couldn't find or understand the legal version of application licensing through the iTunes store on the Apple website. I got the run-around and no simple yes or no answer after several back and forth replies. So, I posted a message here and received a number of replies telling me that it was legal (not just possible, but LEGAL according to the EULA and the iTunes Store's licensing agreement -- which does vary considerably with each type of product sold). I proceeded accordingly since then based on that information, since I couldn't get a simple yes or no answer from iTunes Support about the really simple question I asked them. I was just attacked about my total ignorance on a different website by a user when I questioned the change in In-App purchase policies. I know Apple has seen a spike in these purchases, but it's been driven (quite literally) by the GPS app subscriptions, not true in-app product purchases.
Up until now, I've avoided in-app purchaes because I just didn't like the fact that if it was lost due to some failure in hardware (or backups not working correctly, as that was a real problem with the iTunes software for some time for me), I had no ability to re-download it again, like the app itself. Now, with the policy change allowing for developers to avoid having to make a Lite version and make buying the full version an in-app purchase, this will make it unavoidable for certain applications if I want the full version.
*So, I've got several questions, and would appreciate an Apple employee response, in addition to others who really know (and aren't just doing what is possible). Is it legal for a purchased app to be installed on multiple devices concurrently? If that is legal, can an in-app purchase be installed on multiple devices concurrently (and is possible to make this download without additional charges)? And finally, can in-app purchaes be downloaded again if there is a hardware failure (and no valid backup to restore from) or do I have to buy it all over? If that last question has an answer of no, it's going to help me determine who I buy from.*
I'm not a fan of these in-app purchases since they weren't re-downloadable when problems occurred (as least that's what I was told), so as I said, I've avoided them. Obviously, I'm going to have to change that policy, but I want to know that my purchases will be safe. I like seeing the app on my computer's hard drive as a real file (and in iTunes as a listed application).
I'd appreciate someone clearing this up for me as I took the first time I asked as a basis for my decisions since then and now I'm being told that was all wrong. I wish there was a simple link, in non-legal terminology, that would explain the licensing rights for each type of product being sold in the iTunes store on the Apple website itself. If there is such a place, iTunes Support should have told me about that when I contacted them in the first place when my wife first got her phone (but instead, I had to get answers here because it seemed like Apple's support is just automated computers guessing at appropriate responses to questions). It was such a simple question and I couldn't get an answer, even after 2 or 3 back and forth replies. It was rediculous!
Would someone please clear this up for me?
    Thanks!
    Jim

    @wjosten:
I really appreciate your input, but I'd like an Apple employee response to rest my hat on (like JasonL, who has responded to my posts previously -- his user account is marked with an Apple icon and says Apple Employee on it). I know it's not official, but after getting attacked on another website for this question, I knew I had to head here. I couldn't get straight answer from Apple's iTunes Store Support, so I wanted to have someone attached to Apple sticking their neck out.
*A few questions for you, though, with the in-app purchases of both subsciptions (like with the GPS apps) and product additions, since I've never used them before because of fear of losing them. When you make an in-app purchase, and then I want to put it on my wife's phone, does it come up the same box saying it's free to download because you've already purchased it? How does this work with subscriptions, which would have to update the developer's servers somehow (to know how long to provide a service for)? I have MotionX GPS and need a subscription for esentially the app to work fully. I'm still in the 30-day free window, but it's not installed on my wife's phone. If I want to continue the service, will I be able to buy one subscription and just re-download it on her phone (and it would give her phone the same expiration date for her service from them)? Would it just update MotionX's system when the initial purchase is made and any additional downloads would be ignored (as long as they were made under my iTunes account)? This is particularly confusing because MotionX says you can stack subscriptions, so I would think each download would have to be paid for in order to do this. See what I mean?*
*I know about music being non-redownloadable, but also thought the same was true for all media except for apps (movies, TV shows, etc.). Is that also not true? It's not a big issue for me, since I don't get most of my media from iTunes, but I'd like to know the right answers when I do.*
Thanks for helping someone who doesn't understand Apple's SLA's or how to find them online on their system. Yes, I'm a PC, but am considering a Mac for the near future, but I've never had a lot of luck finding information in Apple's support knowledgebase at all. Microsoft's KB works better, but it just may be I'm used to it since I've used it for almost 20 years. I've only been using Apple's for going on 15 months.
Really, if you can clear up these other questions, I'd be happy to call it solved. I appreciate it a bunch!
    Take care!
    Jim

  • In-app purchases problem on Android

    Hello!
I'm trying to test in-app purchase as test user on Android device. After the payment is done a downloading process has to be started. But instead I receive the message 'Unable to validate purchase receipt. Try again later'.
To check my Payment account I downloaded some DPS magazine and bought a real issue. No problem. So my Payment account is checked.
    Please, any advice what's wrong?

Please double check that you have your Shared Secret setup correctly.  You may specify the Shared Secret/Public Key using the Account Administration tool on the DPS Dashboard.  Please refer to this forum post for more information Could not verify purchase

  • HT1725 in app purchase didn't download

I let my son do an in app purchase and then it said there was no connection. Yet my card was charged and nothing downloaded. How do I fix this?

I did that.  Clicking "report a problem" doesn't bring me to the screens shown on your link; it opens the Apple Support website.  That's how i got here to ask the question.

  • In app purchase problems.

I have just made two in app purchases that apparently did not go through...
I have been charged for them - but the applications do not recognize that a purchase has been made. I checked my account online, and there is no record of a purchase there either. So basically I have been charged by Apple for orders that don`t seem to have been passed on to the actual stores.
In this case, it was two different stores, one after another (Zinio and Magastore) so I doubt it is an application issue. As they were magazine subscriptions, it will REALLY hurt if I cannot get either a refund or the actual subscriptions I paid for. I have tried reporting a problem through iTunes, but it just redirects me to a FAQ page with nothing related to my issue.
Is there ever a serious (as in multiple hour) lag between purchase and it being passed on to the actual store? I know this is a first for me, and I am kind of concerned that I am going to end up paying for 2 magazine subscriptions that I will never get.

The purchase appeared to go through normally, but no, the magazine is not available for download. I checked my account via pc, and it the purchase does not appear at all on the Zinio side. I have purchased other magazines and subscriptions through them in the past, and while it might take some time to download, the addition to my library was always instantaneous.
The same goes for Magastore - where I made a purchase immediately following the Zinio one. Heading on a trip tomorrow so wanted some train reading... Suppose I should have stopped and checked to see if the Zinio one came through before making any other purchases, but as I have never had a problem I didn't think to.
So, I have confirmed that Apple has charged me for the two subscriptions, but neither account shows a purchase made.

  • In-app purchases won't download again, "network error"

    Hi,
I have the Rock Band app installed on my iPhone. It worked perfectly fine until now, I made a couple of in-app purchases to get more songs and they downloaded properly.
But a few days ago, EA Games announced that they would discontinue the game on iPhone after July 31st. As a consequence, all players should make sure they restore their purchases so that they can keep playing after this date.
That's what I did, but ended up with a message "network error, check your parameters and try again" (not sure it's the exact wording in English, mine speaks French!). I tried again many times, with the "restore purchases" button or the different song packs. It know I own them already, asks me if I want to download again for free and then gives me the error message.
I shut the app, reopened it: no change. I switched my phone off then on again: no change. I deleted and reinstalled the app: no change + I lost all my previously downloaded tracks that were still in the game.
I checked the internet and a lot a people seem to be having this problem, but I couldn't find any solution.
Can someone please tell me what to do?
I have several packs that are all going to be lost tomorrow when I paid for them!
    Thank

    What happens when you try:
You can try the standard fixes:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • Itune app purchasing problems

Hello fellow members, got my 5 yesterday and am enjoying it big time! Just moved from sprint after 11 years and was tired of same ole story about why no 4g in my quad city area. Man, iphone 5 on this 4g lte net in my area is night and day! Although I have experienced a lot of quirky connection problems while trying to purchase apps. Some messages say try later and some say trouble communicating with Iphone? Never had a problem with itune store in the past, maybe too many people trying to buy apps? Anyone else having any issues purchasing or downloading apps or games?

        Hi Johnnygreek!
Welcome to Verizon Wireless! I'm so excited to have you and I'm really happy you're enjoying your new phone.  I definitely want your app purchases to work correctly though.
I double checked my resources and I didn't see any known issues regarding app purchases.  Is this a new Apple ID? Have you tried rebooting? Perhaps these apps haven't been updated for iOS 6 yet?
I know it's been a few days, please let us know if you're still experiencing the same issues.
    Thanks,

  • My in-app purchase won't download. Please help!

I've rebooted my phone and the restrictions are off. So far Rovio (the app developer) has been copy/pasting the same answer into an email, and I've yet to hear back from iTunes, whom Rovio told me to talk to if their fix didn't work. It's getting really frustrating because I paid five bucks and nothing is working to make my in-app purchase appear. When I use the app and go to "restore purchases" it says I never made a purchase, but I have the reciept. Again: I've rebooted my phone to no avail, and I've turned all my restrictions off. So if anyone has any better ideas, I'm all ears. Also, my phone is the 5s, and I'm currently running iOS 7.1 so everything is up-to-date.
