App restore

Hi, I'm trying to restore some of my apps to their factory versions. When I restore my Nokia 301 Dual SIM to factory settings the apps are still with this versions! I want the phone like it's new with factory versions of the apps. Thanks in advanse and sorry for my bad English!

Hi KamozZze,
Once the apps are updated, there's no option to download or restore the older versions. It's the app developers (Nokia or 3rd party) who provides updates for applications. Restoring the phone settings doesn't affect the version of apps that are installed on the phone. Are you having issues with the current app versions installed on your Nokia 301 Dual SIM? If yes, which specific apps are you referring to? We'll be happy to help you try fixing the issue if you have any.
Let us know if you need further assistance.

during a software update, i lost all my apps. restore did not bring them back, how do i get my apps back?

Your apps will only be where you put them.  if you failed to put them on your computer beore updating, then they would certainly be gone.
    You can redownload them:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Just did a restore but only 30 of my 250ish apps restored!  PLEASE HELP!

Following the most recent ios version update, my iPhone 5 completely crapped out and had that little usb symbol on the screen.  I called Apple...they walked me through transferring all my almost 3000 photos/videos to my computer (obviously not able to do through iTunes/iCloud when my phone wasn't functioning).  I asked if everything else (about 250 apps...no music) would be in the most recent cloud backup which was only a couple hours before the phone crapped out.  They said yes.  I did the restore and only about 30 of my 250ish apps restored!  I never saw all my apps in my iTunes for some reason and all the apps that I can see in my iTunes have been restored.  I wasn't at capacity for iCloud storage either because it happened a couple months ago and I bought more storage space.  I've only been an iPhone user since Dec 2012 so PLEASE HELP if you can and let me know if there is anymore inof you need from me to help me troubleshoot.
PS=I use a good 30-40 of those apps while I'm running experiential marketing campaigns in the field...one of which is a HUGE campaign I'm managing starting tomorrow.  I'm toally FREAKING out right now with my apps not all restored even though the restore is complete.
    PLEASE HELP
    -super grateful in advance Julia

If you desire to have everything that is currently on the device safe and available to restore, don't just sync, backup the device.  A backup via iTunes will sync and transfer iTunes purchases to iTunes on the computer.
Also, copy any pictures taken with the device off to the computer for safekeeping.
Hopefully contacts are already synced with a supported application on the computer or a cloud service, if not, set that up before restoring.

  • How can I get my old calendar app restored

The new update changed my calendar and it is now HARDER to use. Is there a way to restore the old calendar? If not is there a calendar app that is similar to the old IPHONE calendar? I'm just about ready to leave apple for another phone becasue each change they make is not user friendly.

No, you cannot downgrade the software. However, you can take a look at apps like Week Cal, Fantastical, Tempo.

  • Changed from one Pixi to another - 3G connection interrupted during app restore. How do I get to them?

    Hi,
We lost a Palm Pixi, and got another one to replace it.  We don't have a data plan (have to pay by the mb), so when we were signing in to our Palm Profile as we activated the replacement phone, I quickly turned data off and wifi on.  I did want the apps from the lost phone to be restored to the new one, but they did not download over wifi, and I'm not sure how to proceed.
Most of the apps (like Angry Birds) required a WebOS update and were not even available to us on the first Pixi until we had gotten the newer WebOS version... so I don't know if our Profile would've allowed them to be put on the replacement phone without the WebOS upgrade. I'm in the process of doing that (upgrading the WebOS) right now.
But... how can I re-start the process of putting the apps, etc. stored in my Palm Profile onto this phone?
    Thanks for any assistance!

Once you get webOS updated on your Pixi, the apps should auto-install.  If they do not, open the App Catalog, then tap the shopping bag icon at the bottom-right of the screen.  That will take you to the apps you've installed or that have failed to install.  If your apps do not auto-install after the webOS update, you should see some yellow exclamation marks in the My Applications screen.  Just tap each app to restart the download.

  • Any apps restored to new iPod due to service will not sync with iTunes.

I had to have a retail location replace my iPod and they restored my music and apps from the old one to the new one. Since then, when I plug my device into my computer the 'Apps' tab in iTunes will not allow me to manipulate the screens of my iPod. The image remains dim and I cannot switch to different screens or touch the apps. Any apps purchased since the restore are syncing with iTunes without a problem. There is the option to sync iTunes to my iPod but that will cause me to lose the apps not synced into iTunes. I hope this is specific enough! I don't want to lose my apps, please help!

Never mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

  • How to make one app restore in iOS5?

I have a 3GS and just installed iOS5. All is working well except for one app that is not restoring to my phone. I see it in my apps in itunes on my computer. I have tried synching and backing up, but this one app won't restore. It's a $9 app so I don't want to buy it again. Any suggestions?

Go to the app store and click buy. It will ask you to enter your password and it may look like it may charge you for it again. Once it starts downloading a pop up will show that will state "You have already purchased this app, would you like to download it again" Just click yes and it will download once more without charging you twice.
Another way to do it is with your phone plugged into itunes drag the app onto your iphone and it should sync it.

  • (App) Restore Missing Quick settings

Some of you have noticed that some of the quick settings seemed to have disapeared. Samsung has released an app to restore them - Direct Link - Quick Panel Restore Samsung releases app to fix missing quick settings issue on the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge

    Hi Suesbi,
Which password are you being prompted for? The password you created as a backup to the fingerprint unlock? Or the Google password which will be asked if you get the backup password for the fingerprint unlock incorrect too many times.
If you are unaware of either password then you won't be able to unlock the phone. These are security measures put in place by Google. If you have forgotten your Google account password then you'll need to completely reset the phone which means you'll lose everything off the handset.
f this is the case I'd suggest connecting your phone to a computer and transferring everything off you want to keep and then go ahead with a hard reset via the phone buttons.

  • IPhone - SDK 3.0 - Store Kit - Has anyone made app restore work?

    Hi all,
I'm doing some tests with the Store Kit for the in-app purchase feature. Everything seems to work fine but this:
I just couldn't get restore to work.
In particular, I notice that the SKPaymentQueue documentation refers to paymentQueueRestoreCompletedTransactionsFinished:
and paymentQueue:restoreCompletedTransactionsFailedWithError: , supposedly part of the SKPaymentTransactionObserver protocol, but its reference page doesn't mention it at all.
I still tried to implement it with the following prototypes:
    - (void)paymentQueue: (SKPaymentQueue *)queue restoreCompletedTransactionsFinished: (NSArray *)transactions;
    - (void)paymentQueue: (SKPaymentQueue *)queue restoreCompletedTransactionsFailedWithError: (NSError *)error;
For testing, I have three elements in the sandbox, one of each kind, and I bought all of them and then deleted the application from the iPhone. When I install it back, I'm expecting restoreCompletedTransactions to get at least some of them restored, but none of the observer's selector gets called back.
Has anyone successfully restored transactions? Did I miss something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi,
I'm looking for informations about In App purchasing but I find any interesting things !!
I see that your tests work fine until the restored transactions.
So could help me to start with this feature ? I've read Store Kit Programming but I don't understand how start?
What are the first stages to follow ? How do you create a list of product to store with their ID associated ?
    Thank you!
    Cédric.
PS:I write this post in English but i'm French so you can reply me in French or not!!

  • Removed Video app - restoring didn't

My daughter removed Video and Maps apps. I tried to restore my iPod Touch but I got error "iPod could not be restored. the device isn't eligible for the requested build.". I have iPod Touch gen 2 with 3.1.3.
I have always used my iPod touch by proper way. So what now?

I only saw that she removed Video app. She removed it by normal way like other apps.
I think issue can be related to my MacBook. My MB display get broken (my daughter dropped it) and I bought similar second hand model. Then I just changed hard disk. Maybe I will try to restore it in other mac.

  • On the music path ipad app restore problems

    Hello!
My name is Georgios Iatropoulos and I use the Greek App Store.
I recently found out that the developers of the "On The Music Path" app don't do business anymore. I did the mistake to uninstall the app in the past, so I erased all of my purchases info. I decided to reinstall the app from itunes, because the app no longer exists in the app store. Everything in the app is working fine. I can see the lessons library and the samples. What I can't do is to buy new lessons, (which I expected), but unfortunately I can't restore my purchases...
I contacted the developers and a guy named Alan was kind enough to answer to my questions. He claims that I should be able to restore my purchases through the buy button and that all lessons are still available through the App Store, but I can't buy new ones. However, when I press buy to the lesson I had already bought, I get the following error:
"Error. Unable to connect to App Store. Please verify your internet connection and App Store settings and try again."
Of course my connection is working fine and my App Store setting are ok, because everything else is working fine.
I also contacted itunes support, and they told me that the can't give me a refund. However, my main concern wasn't a refund, because I prefer tech support in order to get my lessons back!!! In addition, I knew Apple don't do refunds for in app purchases.
So it seems that my big mistake is that I unistalled the app, and I lost my in app purchases record. However, I wonder why the App Store has blocked this app completely and doesn't let me get my purchases back. When I use other apps, App Store knows when you buy something new and when you "buy" something you had bought in the past. Why not with this app? How am I supposed to get my lessons back? I know that Apple isn't responsible for In App purchases, but I think they could provide a better solution to the people who trust the App Store. Providing libraries and samples, but not the bought content is really strange and I think the App Store could be clever enough to distinguish between new purchases and old ones...
Any response would be really appreciated... And I hope App Store will be more reliable with the in app content. Until then I won't buy anything "in app".

Well they may read the feedback, but they don't ever answer. This is not right. I contacted both itunes support, and the developer who owned the company "on the path". The sure thing is that one of them lies. The developer, named Alan Kozlowski, said to me that I can restore my purchases, and that all lessons are available to the store. The app is discontinued, but I had the app saved in my itunes library. Unfortunately this is not true... You can't restore anything... On the other hand Apple says that they don't know anything to help me... The only thing they know is that they don't do refunds.
I also asked Alan to provide me some links to the lesson videos at least after providing him my store receipts... No response... But in the app he clearly states that the customer can have access to the lessons forever... Unless forever means until we discontinue the app without further notice...
I agree that this is not the "apple" way of doing business and we the customers got screwed. That is also why I stopped buying anything from the store for several months now... It's not that I stopped liking apple or the store... I am just afraid of losing my money again.

  • HT4859 Notes app restore

I deleted a few pages from my Notes App.  Is there a way to recover these deleted pages?  Thanks

Restore it from a backup, or else do as follows.
    Back up all data.
Boot into Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it.

  • Single app restore

I have an app that is no longer offered in the App Store.  Is there a way I can install this single app from iTunes?  I don't want iTunes to delete any of the new apps I have that I haven't backed up yet.

I think all you need is a sync. iTunes will not delete the non-synced apps because it is bought with your account. Unless the accounts for your iPhone and iTunes are different, you shouldn't have any trouble.

  • Lost one app restoring backup from iCloud to new iPad

I got a new iPad and started to restore the backup from iCloud. Everything else but my VLC player was restored.
It is still on my MacBook and iTunes but won't sync to my new iPad.
    What can I do?

If you've previously synced the iPad with iTunes on your computer, you can check there for a backup. Just connect the iPad to the computer and right click it in the source list, then choose restore from backup.
I don't think you'll ba able to use that iCloud backup, see this article -> iCloud: Troubleshooting restore issues with iCloud Backup
Error: "Your iPhone cannot be restored because there is a problem with your backup data. Choose a different backup to restore from."
Your Backup does not appear to be usable. If you receive this alert, you should check the iCloud System Status at the iCloud Support website to make sure there are not any issues occurring with iCloud Backup. If there is not a widespread issue notated on the iCloud System Status, the error may self-resolve if you wait several minutes and try again. If issues persist, you should contact iCloud Support via the iCloud Support website.

  • Time Machine error while trying to restore Mail.app

Ok, I'm not really sure how to explain the mess I'm in, but I'm going to do my best.
I accidentally deleted two very important Mail accounts. Before I realized that to restore them all I had to do was restore the library files, I attempted to restore the entire Mail.app.
When I did this, I chose to replace it with the backup from last night. Example: I had the Finder open, Mail.app selected, and went to the time machine and went back to last night. It asked me if I wanted to keep the original, keep both, or replace and I chose to replace. It asked for my password (I'm the ONLY user on this computer), I entered it, and then it told me I do not have permission to restore it.
Now, I cannot even open Mail.app. So... I can't even open it to bring it to the foreground to attempt to restore it that way.
How do I restore Mail.app in this case? I have the missing library files restored already... now... what do I do about the program?
FWIW, I'm on 10.5.4... not sure why I haven't upgraded yet.

Ok. I managed to get Mail.app restored... as in, I can open it and I can see the accounts that I didn't accidentally delete.
I restored the files in the Library and I can see the account there... now... how do I get them to show up in Mail.app?
