App Role Not Granting Access

Hello,
We are currently using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1, I had to create a new dashboard and created a custom app with open access (read and execute). After setting this up I added it to catalog permissions however this app role grants access to everything but the dashboard. The end user can open the catalog and navigate to folder location where the reports are stored but is unable to see the dashboard. I have veried the app role is properly created in the Enterprise Manager. The custom app role granting full control for my power users works as expected.
Has anyone seen this type of issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes everything is good in this regard and did not need to change anything. I am unsure of what was happening but this group all of a sudden started working. It have never taken that long for permissions to take effect before.

I tried to add my Planner Plus to my calendar and it gave me a message that says "This app does not have access to your calendars." You can enable access in Privacy Settings. But when I go to Privacy Seettings, there are no apps listed under Calendar.

Oh my gosh. This worked perfectly!!!
After allowing the changes, I just had to open the apps again (such as Instagram), then the pop-up asking to allow access to Photos appeared!
And I thought I was going to get rid of my iPhone 4 already because of the issue.

Progress Reporter. I can't access,not granted access for direct login

I am trying to Access to Progress Reporter.
Web Access is running correctly and I got access with "admin" user. But when I am trying to use the admin user for Progress Reporter I got this message:
Logon denied for[admin]. You are not granted access for direct login,please contact your administrator. Please choose 'OK' to make corrections or 'Cancel' to exit tha application.
I don't know how to create user for Progress Report if that is the problem. Please help me......I will appreciate your help a lot.

I have the same problem (p6v7), but the diference with the case mentioned, I have all checkbox marked correctly and all permision to users.

Apps do not have access to camera,microphone, anything. Went to settings and selected the app but the option to allow access to these things aren't there.

Did you go to Settings/Privacy and check the apps listed?

FBA Not granting access to AD group users

In my FBA setting, individual user can be granted access to sharepoint site and works fine. It is able to resolve AD group but any user within that AD group is not able to get access to the sharepoint site. Same user when added directly gets access. Since
these AD groups have more than 2000 users it is not possible to add them individually. Is there anyway of doing it?
i followed this approach but it did not work.

you add the group in the site, you must make sure it was retrieved from the Role provided (LdapRoleProvider in your issue), but not the membership provider (LDAP in your issue)

Apps do not have access to photos?

Whenever I try to change an app's ability to use photos, there are no apps under the privacy settings to give such ability to. Please help.

My understanding is that an app has to have tried to access something before they show up in those lists. That makes me think that the app has not tried to access photos yet, so you have not denied it, or allowed it.

Closing WD My Cloud app does not logoff access

Hi, I found how to logoff from the windows app: From the menu go to Disconnect device and then from Previously connected devices choose remove. Password is required next time when open the WD My cloud windows app. All we need is just logoff menu.

Calendar app does not have access to my calendars

I have two iPads on the same account, one of which is for my grandson. I'm trying to get it set up for him (He's 4). And I'm only doing it while he's asleep, because once he sees it, it's all over, lol. Idk what I did, but this morning there's no data in my calendar, and when I press CALENDARS, it says it doesn't have ACCESS to my calendar!?! & to go to privacy settings. So, I go to privacy, but there's no way I can see for ME to do anything here to fix this! Also, my email isn't gone, but it's not on the iPad, apparently, it just keeps downloading them all (I'm way behind), every time I open the app. Can anyone PLEASE!, tell me how to undo whatever I dd so it works again?

App World not available when bridged

I cannot open App World on my playbook when bridged to my torch. It says to ensure I'm connected to a wireless network. Can App world not be accessed through the phone's 3G connection? I also get network errors when I click on a link while bridged. Not sure if it's related, but the bridge Browser works fine with the same links cut/pasted in.

Apps will not complete install/download

Recently, the little blue progress bar (like for the intial install or update) appeared in the icon for a Chess app that had been downloaded for many months. But I did not receive an update notice and had not accepted an update for that app. The progress bar would not go away, and the app could not be accessed. The bar would remain blank with the word Waiting for some time, then suddenly it would change to Installing and the blue bar would quickly go about half way across the icon, then it would go back to blank and say Waiting again, then after about 2 minutes a screen pop would come up saying the app was unable to download (cancel or retry). I tried this several times, but it will not download.
I deleted the app, went to the App Store and tried to re-install/download, but no success.
Now a Vanguard (Financial) app has done the same thing.
I powered my IPad 2 off, recycled my intenet connection, and looked for a software update on the IPad but it's up to date at this time.
I went to the App Store and tried to download a new app, and I specifically chose one that was not free (to check my login/billing), and it will not download the new app either. I was charged for the app, and received an email from ITunes confirming purchase and billing of the new app, but it has not installed on my machine.
The odd thing is the Vanguard app was also installed on the wife's IPhone 4 (under a different Apple ID, but her Apple ID is also on the IPad for email purposes), and it doesn't work on her IPhone either (we had to delete it there too).
Any ideas?

Try update using iTune (computer) and sync to iPad.

Problem Granting access on Business Area to Role

Hello everybody,
I am trying to grant access on a Business Area to a role but when I try to do so, the role does not appear in role list. It only shows role connect and resource.
The version of Discoverer I am using is 10.1.2.
Anyone has the same issue?

Granting privilege through role not working for PL/SQL

Version: 11.2.0.2
In our shop, we don't grant privileges directly to a user, we grant it to a role and grant that role to the intended grantee.
Granting privileges through a role seems to be fine with SQL Engine. But it doesn't work from PL/SQL engine.
In the below example GLS_DEV user is granted SELECT access on SCOTT.pets table through a role called tstrole. GLS_DEV can select this table from SQL. But PL/SQL Engine doesn't seem to know this.
Reproducing the issue:
SQL> show user
USER is "SCOTT"
SQL> select * from pets;
NAME
PLUTO
SQL> conn / as sysdba
Connected.
SQL> create user GLS_DEV identified by test1234 default tablespace TSTDATA;
User created.
SQL> alter user GLS_DEV quota 25m on TSTDATA;

You really should start your own new thread for this question instead of resurrecting an old one, but to answer your question.
There are two things going on here. First, there are a number of aler session commands that can be used by any user regardless of what privileges they are granted. Although I do not have the entire list at hand, things like nls_date_format and current_schema are available to all users, sort of like the grants to public in the data dictionary.
Second, when you use execute immediate, the PL/SQL engine never really sees the statement, as far as the compiler is concerned it is just a string. It is only when the string is passed to the sql engine that permissions are checked, and there roles are not enabled.
