App server HTTP install problem
Trying to install the 9i app server on SuSE 7.1 gives a javacore dump almost immediately that ends with the heading "Object Monitor Status".
Any ideas what is wrong?
Thanks,
Dan
Most likely there is a problem in your configuration, such that the admin service could not get started (didn't you originally get a 505 error?) Check your logs: admin and Tomcat (usually catalina.log) for any errors and fix the problems indicated in the logs.

Office web apps server 2013 install issue
Dear All,
when i install office web apps server in a new server(OS:Windows Server 2008 SP1) with PowerShell Scripts it keep the installing status for more than four hours .
what should i do now ,i think it should not take such long time as i do the same installing in the other server before which takes less than 1 hours.
beg your suggestions!Hey
please take these points into your considerations:
- OWA server can be installed on Windows server 2008 R2 or Windows server 2012
- Log in as administrator and preferred to use domain administrator account specially to create new office web apps farm
- run the script
Add-WindowsFeature Web-Server,Web-Mgmt-Tools,Web-Mgmt-Console,Web-WebServer,Web-Common-Http,Web-Default-Doc,Web-Static-Content,Web-Performance,Web-Stat-Compression,Web-Dyn-Compression,Web-Security,Web-Filtering,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-App-Dev,Web-Net-Ext45,Web-Asp-Net45,Web-ISAPI-Ext,Web-ISAPI-Filter,Web-Includes,InkandHandwritingServices,NET-Framework-Features,NET-Framework-Core
It takes approximately 20 minutes :)

Central Service Instance missing after Additional App server was installed
Hi Experts
I had installed SAP Netweaver CE7.1 system in 2 machines as distributed system.
I did installation as follow:
1. Install MSSQL server native access client in machine 1
2. Install DB server in machine 2
3. Install SCS in machine 1
4. Install DB instance in machine 2
5. Install PAS in machine 1
The installation had been fine. I had checked by confirming at the MMC. In machine 1, I could see SCS, PAS and DB running. I had also logged on into portal and NWA.
Then I installed Additional App server in machine 2.
Howerver, in the end of the installation it said that the installation has been stopped.
Later when I see the MMC, I found that I could see DB, PAS and AAS only. SCS was missing and
the system could not start.
I am very much looking forward to hearing from you what went wrong during the installation of AAS.
The log generated in the sapinst.log is really long. I got server error when I put the log data in this message. I can send it through mail if need be.

Sun8.1 app server's behavior problem
Sun8.1 app server's behavior is not good. I tried with the following scenario's.
1. Undelpoy one project: When I'm trying to undeploy one project, it is able to undeploy but, it is not able
to remove folder from <<C:\Sun81>>\AppServer\domains\domain1\applications\j2ee-apps\
If we don't remove this folder, when we try to deploy same project again, it is giving problem.
Solution: we need to shutdown our app server, go to above folder and remove undeployed project.
2. Undeploy multiple projects: When we are trying to undeploy multiple projects, server is undeploying one or two projects(not consistent)
and it is not undeploying remaining projects.
And some times it is not able to clean domain.xml (Path: <<C:\Sun81>>\AppServer\domains\domain1\config\domain.xml) properly. This means for each project there will be two entries(j2ee-application&application-ref) in domain.xml, server is removing one entry and not removing another entry.
3. Disable/Enable problem: When we are deploying first time, project is working. If we disable our project and enable it again, project is not working.
If we restart app server, project is working fine.We all have this problem.... while I was not around. ;-)

HTTP server download/install problems
This experience so far has been so awful, I hopt there's a fundamental problem, like I'm trying to download from the wrong place or something.
I want to set up a Solaris HTTP server to serve up my portlets. I tried downloading the HTTP server from http://download.oracle.com/otn/solaris/apache/apache0921_solaris.tar. Most of the time, I get a timeout error when clicking the link. Once I actually got a download, but when I untarred the file (tar xvf apache0921_solaris.tar), I got a directory checksum error. I also got lots of files and directories, but it's not obvious what to do with them. Do I even have the right download? Is there a more responsive server I can use to try the download again?
nullTodd,
Thank you for pointing out the problem with the Solaris download of the Oracle HTTP Server. We have placed a new file on OTN and I have tested that it downloads and extracts okay. The file is larger than the previous version, so it will take longer to download. Please go ahead and try the new file.

Exchange Server 2013 install problem
I am currently trying to install our first Exchange 2013 mailbox in a child domain. This will coexist with Exchange 2010. I have run the prepare schema/AD and /preparealldomains in the root domain. I have checked the various ADSI attributes to check that
the updates have completed and I can see no replication issues.
All of the existing Exchange 2010 servers have SP3 and update roll up 5 installed apart from 1 mailbox server that is just SP3.
I am trying to install Exchange 2013 on Server 2012 r2 with all available updates.
The problem i am having is every time i run the Exchange 2013 setup choosing the mailbox role to install the prerequisite analysis fails stating "Local domain needs to be prepared" and points to an article on how to run the setup /preparedomain
that i have already done.
Can anyone offer any insight in to what setup is checking for, what might be causing this and how to get past it?
ThanksHi all, I had already tried to force replication and not seen any problems, The accounts I am using have the correct permissions, as Bruce says you can't /prepareschema on a child domain this has to be done in the domain where the Schema Master is.
I have also already run the /preparedomain in the child Domain and it has made no difference.
I have checked and confirmed the ADSI attributes in this Technet article
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125224%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx
The exchange setup logs are not really giving me anything to work with. Each time i run the setup i see an error on in the event viewer of the server i run in on as follows :
View Entire Forest: 'True', Configuration Domain Controller: 'Domain Controller', Preferred Global Catalog: 'Domain Controller', Preferred Domain Controllers: '{ Domain Controller }'
Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.ManagementObjectNotFoundException: The operation couldn't be performed because object 'Server' couldn't be found on 'Domain Controller'
Not sure if this is points to anything? I can obviously find the server object in the referenced Domain Controller.
I am also seeing this in the application log each time i run the setup.

HELP - SQL Server Express Install Problems
The SQL Server Express completed without error. However, when I tried to connect to the SQLEXPRESS instance I received one of those wonderful MS errors, "Specified file not found". WHAT FILE? (After all these years MS still can't figure out how
to give an error msg. that provides some hint of what's wrong.) Going on, I started the install console and selected the REPAIR option. (It didn't ask what the problem was, it just ran.) It did ask what instance needed repair. I told
it SQLSERVER. It proceeded to repairing it. My first hint that their repair function worked as well as their error handling was when I got the: That share name has already been used (or something like that) error (notice, MS didn't tell me what
share name, or what aspect of the db they were talking about). After pressing OK, the REPAIR function proceeded to run to completion. When I reviewed the REPAIR report I found that three db processes all had the same SHARE NAME ALREADY USED error.
Actually, I thought that it was no big deal. If this was a real REPAIR, it shouldn't matter that the name was already used because everything else should be the same. (I know I'm nigh eve about the
Intricacies of SQL server.) After repairing my installation, I brought up the SQL Server Management Console again. This time, it did not display SQLEXPRESS in the Connect field. I selected the drop down list arrow to see if it was
listed and the list was blank so I entered SQLEXPRESS in the connect field and clicked on the CONNECT button. I got a NETWORK PATH NOT FOUND error. So, before I really mess things up, I thought I should ask if anyone knows what I should do
next. (As an aside, I've pressed the MS Error Message HELP button numerous times abut various errors I've received over the years. Not only are MS error messages useless, their Help Page has never ONCE been able to provide any information
about the encountered error. MS should spend some time and develop some truly helpful error messages as "File not found" and unknown error code 837289 are absolutely useless and especially since their HELP PAGE is never able to provide any
information either. I do wonder how I can get Unknown Error codes from people who wrote the code that raises the error. Don't they document anything?)I did read the requirements and made sure I met them all. The install package I used was: SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe. You're correct. I'm not familiar with SQL Server.
I downloaded SQL Server Express and Visual Studio Express to learn and explore because I wanted to learn about the new technology.
After leaving my message, I did some more studying and playing with the system. I managed to figure out that I had to turn on the data base service before I could connect with it. I'm sorry, I don't understand how Microsoft could install a data
base system without turning on its services. Why would I want to install something and NOT use it? The default should be ON and the setup manager should provide a choice to set it to OFF on the configuration page.
My experience is rather dated. I had to retire due to a disability in 2005. I couldn't control my arms and hands. The doctor recently tried a medication again that I had had a severe negative reaction to. He first administered steroids
and started me on a small dose and titrated it up as I was able to handle it. Now I have some days where I have pretty good control — I can print a little but can't write well and other days where I can't print, write, or feed myself.
I have performed many functions. I have been an analyst, a programmer, a data base designer, and a college professor at three different colleges. I've done extensive work in process automation and have even automated the management functions
for a data base system that was used to schedule every aspect of all the aircraft, ranges, and weapons development processes on Eglin AFB. I also wrote major pieces of the code used by the system and trouble shot and corrected functions written by other
programmers. The system supported over 300 users a day on two bases. Unfortunately it was developed in Fortran on a VAX and with VB6 and MS Access using VBA, Queries, Tables and Forms on networked PCs.
I plan to do a lot of reading. I'll also be looking at the Microsoft sites for a sample DB and lessons to go with it. I am a little frustrated with how information is organized on the web. The other night I needed to find some information
about something from Microsoft. It took me almost two hours to ask my question in such a way that MS was able to provide what I wanted. I kept asking essentially the same thing, but I had to use the exact phrase MS used on the page. I know
MS is big and they support multiple generations of each product. They have an almost impossible task. I just have to find the various product entry pages.
Thanks for offering your help. -
**UPDATE Financial Reporting App Server not installed...
***Update the reason we are getting this error we noticed is that the HyS9FRReports service is not shown/installed on our Dev box.
what can I do to install the HyS9FRReports service? (we can run the bat from the bin directory but it is not showing in Windows Services)?
Thanks
When I log into workspace as various users with different provisioning I get this upon login
Namespace Process Error
-3; could not find a Hyperion Reporting and Analysis server running on locathost at port 6800. Please veriify your server connect string and confirm the server is set up.
If I try to hit explore icon I get the same error.
You look at this error and say easy, service not started, configuration not complete...but I have tried the following to no avail I still get the error
- Reconfigured the entire Reporting Analysis 'Tier'
- Reinstalled the Reporting and Analysis tier and then reconfigured
- Reviewed the order of the services and as per the installation manual I have them in the right order. I have tried the delivered service .bat, tried my own and manually started each service one by one in the correct order
- Ran Diagnostics which shows all green on all products
- Reviewed the provisioning in Shared Services
- Reviewed the servername:port/workspace/status which shows workspace correctly running and Reporting/Analysis does show on this xml file
What is interesting if I try to launch Financial Studio I get a different message about not have rights to access program, contact your administrator
Looking for avenues or specific log files I can review...
Thanks

Are you sure that you are trying to install the correct version? It seems like it's for Microsoft Windows Itanium (64-bit) edition.

Windows Server 2012R2 Install problems
I am trying to install Server 2012 R2 on a Dell Power Edge 830 with 8 GB of RAM and 2 RAID 1 arrays #1 = 374 and #2 = 474. When I boot with the DVD in the drive it goes thru the normal stuff then it comes up with a Windows boot manager error "Windows
failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause" Then it lists the normal fixes "File: \windows\system32\config\system" "Status: 0xc0000001. Then it says hit enter for OS selection when you proceed it then brings
up only one choice of operating systems "Windows Setup [EMS Enabled]" or press F8 for advanced options but when you press F8 it just takes you back to the same error screen and if you select the Windows setup option it then takes you back to the
same error screen. I understand that I probably need to disable driver signature but I'm not sure how to do that with F8 not working any ideas?I had a similar issue with my r940, it has to do with the dvd drive I finally got it to install by faking it, I removed the hard drive and put into another computer that would boot from DVD it was a desktop computer did the install up to the
first reboot, when it requests the first reboot it hasn't really done anything except initialize the disk and install the OS image form the DVD. So remove the drive and put in the 830 server and boot and complete the OS install. it will do all the hardware
detection after the boot. -
Proxy Server / http redirect problem
I am trying to use a WLS instance as a proxy server for another WLS instance.
I have configured the weblogic.properties file as follows:
weblogic.httpd.register.proxy=weblogic.t3.srvr.HttpProxyServlet
weblogic.httpd.initArgs.proxy=redirectURL=http://url:port
weblogic.httpd.defaultServlet=proxy
However, I try to serve the page, I get a 404 error.
The odd thing is though, if I submit the URL without the page name, I am redirected to show the index listing of the remote server!
Am I missing something?Hi Winnie Chow!

I have sun app server v8 installed on a winXP Pro laptop (I just want to take the J2EE tutorial). My problem is that when I bring up a command prompt and type asadmin to start the app server it gives me error "The system cannot find the path specified". When I echo the PATH variable I see "C:\Sun\AppServer\bin" in there (which corresponds to the directory on my machine with file asadmin.bat in it). It's interesting that when I type "asant" I get this message:
C:\Sun\AppServer\bin>asant
Warning: JAVA_HOME environment variable is not set.
If build fails because sun.* classes could not be found
you will need to set the JAVA_HOME environment variable
to the installation directory of java.
Buildfile: build.xml does not exist!
Build failed
C:\Sun\AppServer\bin>
I did upgrade my jdk from 1.4 to 1.5 so maybe that's the problem although my JAVA_HOME is set to "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_01" which is the correct dir for my java install.
I can't even type "asant.bat" in directory "C:\Sun\AppServer\bin" either so I'm really confused as to what's going on.
Any ideas? Much appreciatedsame thing happened to me...I set the JAVA_HOME value correctly..rechecked it using echo...
but I recvd the same mesg...cannot find path...
I then went to the desktop...right clicked on the my computer icon--->-Properties--->advanced----->environment_variables...
There when I checked the JAVA_HOME value it was different..why?......
I changed the value again and it worked...:) try it though I didnt know what was wrong ..why it wasnt set when I set it from the cmd prompt
