App similar to Hyperterminal for Symbian OS (N95 8...

We have our own mobile GPS-units which we can call up via GSM data and receive NMEA-sentences (ASCII text with GPS data) on the fly. Using Hyperterminal from a computer with a com-port we can do this using AT-commands.
However; during field tests it would be really helpful do send these AT-commands from our mobile phones. Does anybody know of an app similar to Hyperterminal which runs on Symbian OS - more specifically the new N95?
Help would be greatly appreciated as this would simplify our everyday testing significantly...

Try www.mochasoft.dk maybe they have something similar.

  • App similar to CCleaner for OS X?

I was just curious to know if there is such a program for OS X that is similar to CCleaner for Windows?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi.
Those are very powerful apps indeed.
Here is one more (my favorite): MainMenu

It hasn't got many advanced options as Onyx, but it's easy to use, and gets the job done.

  • App similar to 'poynt' for N95 8gb

I was wondering if anyone knew of a app for the N95 similar to that of blackberry's 'poynt'. Its an app that allow you to view movie timings of any movie near you based on the theatre or the movie itself. Its also integrated with the GPS so you can quickly get directions to the movie theatre.
    Thanks

    Hi
My friend showed me poynt on his Blackberry today and I tried to go on the website only to find that it's just for Bberry's and I phone.
Do not despair though there is an app called Near Here in Ovi Store very similar I have downloaded that onto my E71 and I have to say I think it is as good as Poynt maybe not as aesthetically pleasing but the information is all there.
    Hope this helps

  • Google Killed Gmail App for Symbian

It looks like the Gmail app for Symbian is no longer available. On what used to be Google's download page for the app, they now tell you to to access gmail through your web browser.
Does anyone know where I can download the final version of the Gmail app that was made for Symbian? I can't find a download link anywhere...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I used this website: http://www.cellmind.com/expired_certificate/
You upload the .sis file with the expired certificate there and they send one back to you that works.
Or, there is a version of Gmail now posted on All About Symbian that has a good certificate. Go here: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/13776_Gmail_application_finally_pull.php and then click on the "still sideload" link about halfway down the page.

  • WireShark/Packet Tracer like app for Symbian?

    Hi
I need some appz that have similar funcionality like those 2, but r available for Symbian phones (Nokia N95 8GB). Any clues? Thx
    Luk

i dont think there is libpcap support on symbian so a good sniffer for symbian is probably not availble, maybe some lower function hex sniffer but porting wireshark to symbian without libpcap will turn out difficult im pretty sure
contact Gerald Comps (main creator of wireshark) and ask him maybe.

  • Looking for app similar to Nicecast (Internet audio streaming)

I am a new Arch user migrating from Mac OS X. I am looking for an app similar to Nicecast from Rogue Amoeba.
Nicecast takes an audio input (a mic, for example), provides some basic, real-time filters and outputs to an Icecast server. (Both Icecast and Shoutcast support would be ideal.)
    Suggestions?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I do know BUTT; I used it in OS X a few times. It can do the broadcast portion but lacks the effects filters of Nicecast.

  • App similar to stay focused for MacBook Air

Is there an app similar to stay focused for MacBook Air?

There is a way to see (in small window) short bits and parts of video movies, where they exist, in the iTunes application from the store page in there. My older Mac with earlier version of iTunes lets me browse Music, Movies, TV stores, from the sections on the iTunes application; years ago there was more direct content. They used to have a site page for some of those clips... I haven't looked lately.
A screenshot of a video clip ^ from the iTunes Movie store, via iTunes in my Mac.
If you browse the items for sale/rent, a few have a tiny triangle on them and this opens the little window where a preview runs. A few actual movies will have an option to see a preview or trailer-like video in a similar small window that opens up over the store screen.
The older iTunes application in earlier Mac systems had various other features. In order to view movie trailer kinds of content streamed from the internet, you may have to look into a third party application or a web page.
There may be a list of applications included with certain models of Mac portables
and if you can find that name, that may be a talking point. The Store has lists of
what software may be included in the most recent Macs in each products info.
{There was no mention prior to your reply...
    that you did not want to make movies, btw.}
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Adobe Photoshop app for symbian OS

    Hi Sir,
Can you develop the Photoshop app for Symbian OS also??? I have used Photoshop app in Lumia 720 & it was gorgeous. And as you know Nokia 808 Pureview is one of the best camera smartphones ever made. With 41 mega pixels, we can do wonders. But only problem that I found is the sodding Symbian OS. There are no good photo editing apps for Symbian platform. Does Symbian OS meets the requirements?? It would be great if a Photoshop app is available for that platform also.
    Regards,
    Sajeev C

No, the CS5 software is operating system-specific and even if you were willing to trade for the Windows version you could not at this point due to that only being possible for the latest. release, CS6.

  • New apps for symbian belle

Hi. When will new apps available for symbian belle phones?. We can see that in android phones are flooded with apps.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is a huge number of apps for Symbian.
Up to about 2010 it was the leading operating system in smartphones.
What Nokia don't have is the Apple IOS type of well organised app shop. A lot of Symbian app developers sold their apps directly, and a lot have withdrawn the apps from the shop for some bizzare reason. Those in the latter group who don't sell them directly are a problem and you have to google for the .sis file and eventually you will find one that installs.
Both the Nokia app shop and the Apple app shop are 95% useless garbage, however, and that will always be the case for smartphones because there are loads of app developers who think they are going to get rich by writing some near-useless app and selling a million of them for €0.50 each.
"Symbian is in the late stages of it's "death" now"
That's interesting. Can you post the date my phone is going to stop working? With 26,746 posts you are probably well connected and know the exact date.

  • Socially App for Symbian^3

quick heads up that the Socially App has had a beta release today, optimised for Symbian^3 (still works S60v5) just note I had a couple of installation problems, but after deleting my current version, the install went fine and the new UI is very impressive, as a free app I think it's great as an additional option for social networks and worth a try

  • How come the same apps that are available for my iPhone and my iPad are not the same as the apps in the app store on my mac

I want some of the same apps available on my iphone and ipad2 to be available on my macbook pro app store and to be able to link them through icloud. Is this not possible? If not, why not?

The Mac uses Mac OS X and iDevices use iOS. These are two different operating systems and the apps must be written for each operating system specifically, even when the apps go by the same name, such as the iWork apps, they are two ifferent versions of the same app for the two different platforms.
So, as an example, Safari has been written for three different operating systems, Mac OS X, iOS and Windows. And the Safari apps, as similar as they are visually, are not interchangeable for the different platforms.

  • HT4539 How do I get a paid app onto my iPhone when I have downloaded it to my iPad. The app has a license for 5 licenses

    Hi
I am a newbie to paid apps, and have previously used freebies. I have never quite understood the mechanics of how the iPad and iPhone are meant to keep the apps in sync. I've paid $150 for a Hema mapping app which I downloaded to my ipad ok. The license covers up to 5 idevices. I'm stuck on how the app is meant to "appear" in my iPhone.
I've googled, searched apple forums, and the best I get is the brochure ware on the apple page which says that things are meant to appear in one device if they are downloaded to another (or something similar to that). Can someone take the time to explain what I need to enable to have this happen, and/or what I need to do to get the mapping app onto my phone if enabling a feature doesn't retrospectively "sync" my devices.
    I have a iPhone 4, iPad (
    Thanks so much.

Thanks AnaMusic. I tried that, after I couldn't find anything on the internet. Their advice was your iphone must have insuffucient capacity. Told them nicely that it was more fundamental than that. Their response was effectively not our space.
My take: sucky  support for $150..... but we want the app on our ipad for a remote area 5 week holiday that is coming up in a couple of weeks time.
hence my question on here, so I can get down to the basic fundamentals of app store/itunes wherever it is that is managing the 'syncing'between devices. I've not managed to get a grasp on this functionality & don't know what I don't know if you get my drift.....

Nokia has already abandoned Symbian long time ago in favour of Windows Phone.
