App similar to Rollcage?

Are there any racing games for the iPod Touch that are like Rollcage (for the PS1)? You know, where you can drive on walls and the tops of tunnels and stuff? The cars were double-sided and it was a REALLY fun racing game!
Let me know if there is such a game for the iPod Touch, thanks!

  • Looking for app similar to Nicecast (Internet audio streaming)

    I am a new Arch user migrating from Mac OS X. I am looking for an app similar to Nicecast from Rogue Amoeba.
    Nicecast takes an audio input (a mic, for example), provides some basic, real-time filters and outputs to an Icecast server. (Both Icecast and Shoutcast support would be ideal.)
    Suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply. I do know BUTT; I used it in OS X a few times. It can do the broadcast portion but lacks the effects filters of Nicecast.

  • App similar to stay focused for MacBook Air

    Is there an app similar to stay focused for MacBook Air?

    There is a way to see (in small window) short bits and parts of video movies, where they exist, in the iTunes application from the store page in there. My older Mac with earlier version of iTunes lets me browse Music, Movies, TV stores, from the sections on the iTunes application; years ago there was more direct content. They used to have a site page for some of those clips... I haven't looked lately.
    A screenshot of a video clip ^ from the iTunes Movie store, via iTunes in my Mac.
    If you browse the items for sale/rent, a few have a tiny triangle on them and this opens the little window where a preview runs. A few actual movies will have an option to see a preview or trailer-like video in a similar small window that opens up over the store screen.
    The older iTunes application in earlier Mac systems had various other features. In order to view movie trailer kinds of content streamed from the internet, you may have to look into a third party application or a web page.
    There may be a list of applications included with certain models of Mac portables
    and if you can find that name, that may be a talking point. The Store has lists of
    what software may be included in the most recent Macs in each products info.
    {There was no mention prior to your reply...
    that you did not want to make movies, btw.}

  • App similar to Hyperterminal for Symbian OS (N95 8...

    We have our own mobile GPS-units which we can call up via GSM data and receive NMEA-sentences (ASCII text with GPS data) on the fly. Using Hyperterminal from a computer with a com-port we can do this using AT-commands.
    However; during field tests it would be really helpful do send these AT-commands from our mobile phones. Does anybody know of an app similar to Hyperterminal which runs on Symbian OS - more specifically the new N95?
    Help would be greatly appreciated as this would simplify our everyday testing significantly...

  • Countdown iPhone app similar to countdown widget?

    Hello all,
    Our client has approached us to develop an iPhone app similar to the widget we just did, counting down the days/hrs/mins to a big meeting in October.
    The widget was obviously dead easy, as we used the template that Apple so kindly provides.
    Is there a similar template available for the iPhone, or could anyone point me in the right direction for creating something which at least seems relatively simple? But I'm a little stumped as to where to start. Any help getting started would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Sub - There's no template that makes a countdown clock, nor can I think of an Apple sample app that's directly related. The DateCell sample might my helpful. Though it doesn't build a countdown clock, it shows how to use several of the classes that could be used in your project.
    To find samples of countdown and alarm clock code, try a web search on keys like 'sdk iphone countdown clock sample code'.
    As you'll gather from blogs and forum posts on this subject, you'll have a problem to solve if your client expects some alarm or notification when the zero hour approaches. Legal third party iPhone apps can't run in the background. So unless your app happens to be active when an alarm is needed, there's no way for the app to directly alert the user. The closest you can get to that is by using the new "PUSH" features. So there's another key word you might want to search on.
    We might be able to help you more if you post more details about what your client expects the app to do, and what kind of UI you're planning. For instance, the sample at the above link shows how to use UIDatePicker as a calendar. UIDatePicker also includes a countdown mode that would be one way to anchor the UI without making your own shot clock.
    If you want to post more details, please also include your skill level. E.g. whether you've ever built an iPhone app. Be sure to also let us know if you'll need to use PUSH, or any other feature that would require communication with a server.
    Btw, does your client understand that the only legal way to distribute an iPhone app is by having it accepted for sale in the iTunes store? Several developers here have had to explain this to clients who want a private app which is only distributed to customers or employees.
    So there's an overview of things to consider. There's probably going to be lots more to your project than just coding a UI with a countdown clock. But we can certainly help you with that part as soon as we know what that UI should look like.

  • ? An app similar to adobe flash player?

    Apple does not support adobe flash player for IPad - is there something else that is similar ?

    No Flash for iDevices, ever. You can try using SkyFire or Puffin for some sites or see if the site provides an app for the iDevice.

  • App similar to Blue Mountain etc for BB?

    Sometimes I will receive messages from friends composed of a moving graphic or some music or both. Where do these come from? Is there an app available that does this or anything similar that you can subscribe to?

    There is no app available for the iPhone that provides this for free. There is a messaging app called WhatsApp that requires internet access for exchanging messages. Each iPhone must have the app installed, and there is a Blackberry version. You can exchange text messages only, or exchange photos, an audio note, share your location, or share a contact. Whatever data is used exchanging texts or anything else that is supported is charged at international roaming rates for the data received and sent.

    Hi.
    Those are very powerful apps indeed.
    Here is one more (my favorite): MainMenu

    It hasn't got many advanced options as Onyx, but it's easy to use, and gets the job done.

  • App similar to 'poynt' for N95 8gb

    I was wondering if anyone knew of a app for the N95 similar to that of blackberry's 'poynt'. Its an app that allow you to view movie timings of any movie near you based on the theatre or the movie itself. Its also integrated with the GPS so you can quickly get directions to the movie theatre.
    Thanks

    Hi
    My friend showed me poynt on his Blackberry today and I tried to go on the website only to find that it's just for Bberry's and I phone.
    Do not despair though there is an app called Near Here in Ovi Store very similar I have downloaded that onto my E71 and I have to say I think it is as good as Poynt maybe not as aesthetically pleasing but the information is all there.
    Hope this helps

  • How to use Help View 2 in standalone Winform app similar to VS Package Help2 from DTE2

    Hello,
     We are successfully obtaining a DTE2 object and then the Help2 object to connect our context id names with triggering the Help Viewer 2 in a VS package but can’t seem to do the same outside of VS.
     Here’s a sample of how we handle getting it okay from the VS package code:
    dte2 = Package.GetGlobalService(typeof(DTE)) as DTE2;
    help2 = (Help2) dte2.GetObject("Help2");
     Then we can set out context id like this:
    helpId = “MYFORMCONTEXTIDHERE”;
    help2.DisplayTopicFromF1Keyword(helpId);
    Within VS this works fine for our package.  However, the winform app version can’t get the DTE2 object as no instance of VS is running.  For instance, an example like this:
    dte2 = (DTE2)System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetActiveObject("VisualStudio.DTE.11.0");
    won’t work as there’s no VS instance.
    Given all this…and us not wanting to use the older CHM HelpProvider winforms approach, is there any way we can achieve what the package version is doing in a pure Winforms application?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.
    Based on your description, I’m afraid that it is not the correct forum for this issue, since this forum is to discuss:
    Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor.
    To help you find more useful information or find the correct forum for this issue, would you mind letting us know more information about it?
    It is the WinForm developing issue, am I right?
    You said that you use the DTE 2 object, is it related to the VS extension?
    >> However, the winform app version can’t get the DTE2 object as no instance of VS is running.  For instance, an example like this:
    dte2 = (DTE2)System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetActiveObject("VisualStudio.DTE.11.0");
    won’t work as there’s no VS instance.
    I did some research about it, the following case and document shared some information about the “Get References to the DTE and DTE2 Objects”, it seems that it also shares some information about “Get an instance of the currently running
    Visual Studio IDE” like the code here:
    // Get an instance of the currently running Visual Studio IDE.
    EnvDTE80.DTE2 dte2;
    dte2 = (EnvDTE80.DTE2)System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.
    GetActiveObject("VisualStudio.DTE.11.0");

    If still no help, I might not have the correct detailed answer you need, but I might lead you into the right direction to solve your problem.
    If it is the WinForm developing issue, you could select the correct forum here:

    If it is related to the VS extension, maybe this forum would be better for you:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=vsx
    If I have misunderstood this issue, please feel free to let me know, I will help you find the correct forum for this issue as soon as possible.

  • Looking for iPhone Security App Similar to Droid's Lookout Mobile Security

    I'm a droid user, and because of the iPhone's one button and lack of customization I will most likely always be one. My sister however (even though she loves the droid) kept getting phones that after a few months stopped working. We aren't too sure why, I've never had a problem, but she always does.
    Anyway we decided she should switch to iPhone and she is loving it. However I know my sister and she loses her phone constantly. On Droid the Lookout App allows you to locate your phone, back up your phone, 'scream' (in which your phone flashes it's LED and emits an increasingly louder siren to help you find it), lock (making it unuseable if stolen) and a 'wipe' feature that wipes out all your information from the phone if it lands in hands you can't retrieve from.
    Now I saw on here that there is already phone backup provided by Apple and a few of these features already but I'm mainly looking for an app (or apps) that can perform the screaming, locating, phone lock and phone wipe feature.
    Does anything like this exist? I know a lot of people seem to feel that what LookOut provides isn't needed on the iPhone but I just would feel safer if we could get these features on her new phone.

  • Looking for an app similar to TetherGPS

    TetherGPS an app available in Android Market allows to grab GPS connection in Android Tablet. The app is installed in Android tablet as well as in Android phone. The phone acts as a server waiting for a client and the Android tablet connects to Android phone. Are there any IPhone app that will do the same thing but should allow a cross platform tablet running Android o/s?

    @Springbk: I had tried but was unsuccessful. There is an application for Iphone called GPS2IP, created by Capsicumdreams in UK. . This application acts as a server in iphone,  waiting for client to connect to an IP address 192.168.1.101:11123. I tried that and using telent application in Android Tablet I was able to get connected to server and it started showing all signals received from GPS2IP in latitude and longitude. That means Android tablet is able to receive GPS signals, but I have no idea how to use that in a map application. I want the map to grab GPS2IP server signals and show me my current location as I drive along. Do you have any suggestions?

  • Can anyone recommend an app similar to idvd?

    I don't know why Apple got rid of iDVD but can anyone recommend an app for burning an iMovie project to DVD?

    I don't know why Apple got rid of iDVD
    Apple is the largest media company in the world. They sell nothing on disk. It is to their financial advantage to have the physical possession of movies go away.  (I am not participating in this.)
    can anyone recommend an app for burning an iMovie project to DVD?
    Yes, iDVD.
    Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, and others.  None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.
    With iDVD you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.
    IDVD is easy to get. It is available on disk as part of iLife 11.
    IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.
