App spree after closing my mortgage loan
After closing my mortgage loan with Bank of America I was itching to app for some new cards... Loan closed on 6/17 and began apping on 6/19 for a week.

Mail.app will not reopen after closing app
I am using a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.5.8 and Mail.app 3.6 (936). I have all current updates installed. My problem is that I will be using mail.app (configured as an IMAP account) all day and close the application without any issues, but if I reopen the application without fist restarting the computer Mail hangs and will not relaunch. This issue happens without fail. There are only two resolves that will allow me to relaunch mail.app: restart the computer or relaunch the Finder.
What can I do to resolve this issue?

After installing ios 5.1 on my iphone 4s, some apps are being closed automatically after a few seconds. I've tried a restart and a total reset. nothing seems to work. Any solutions?
The problem Apps may need to be updated. Or maybe your iTunes account needs to just update itself on your iPhone. To do this, install a free App from the App Store on your iPhone. Tap App Store app on iPhone, select and install a free App. When that is done try the problem Apps to see if they work OK again.

App switcher not responding after closing an application
I'm running OS X 10.9.4 on my late 2012 MacBook Pro Retina and I am experiencing an odd issue where the App Switcher is not responding right after closing an application. It seems that some applications cause this issue more than others. For example: when I closed Numbers and then attempted to go to another application using the App Switcher, the App Switcher did not respond to my respond to my requests for at least 10 seconds. It's as if there is a library that is getting locked by the closing application that prevents the App Switcher from being launched.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, is there a resolution to it?

ChrisYou will need to build the application through the project explorer, set the the .rtexe to 'Run as startup', and then deploy it.

If that is still not working, you may want to consider:
1. Checking to make sure that you can establish a connection between your project and the myRIO. Right-click on your myRIO target in the project and select 'Connect'
2. Verifying that you can run your code interactively (i.e. run your RT code directly from the host computer)
3. Writing a very simple myRIO application that toggles a user LED. This will allow you to visually see whether or not the application is running.

Finally made the 800 club!! To app spree or not to app spree...
So I've been waiting for my NFCU payoff to post after my credit card debt was consolidated onto a low interest personal loan. I've been saving up the CreditCheckTotal $1 trial until I noticed the balance was paid so I didn't have to wait for myFico to update (yes, I'm that impatient, you have no idea). Well, 3 days after the statement posted, EQ and EX were finally updated, and I went ahead with the CCT trial and got this: This is a first! I was in the 400s in 2011/2012 when I started on the rebuilding section of the board, so this has been a journey for me. Never would I have imagined I'd been in the 800s, especially with my horrible credit past. Now the dillema, I've been waiting for this so I could app for a few cards I've been wanting, mainly the Slate for the 0% BT offer, and the CSP to pair with my Freedom for rewards and the Amex BCE. Also considering one of the Chase hotel cards.. but now that I have an 800+ score, I'm not sure I want to apply anymore and ruin this great score! Don't know what to do.. decisions, decisions! I've been itching to go on an app spree....

Great Job. Try PenFed for your car loan. I've always found their rates far better then USAA or NFCU for auto but YMMV. Also, if you dont have an account with them, they do a HP for account openings and your pull is good for 30 days for any of their products. Thanks for asking those questions; I knew I was bound to leave some information out. Unfortunately, I don't have verifiable income during the summer, but I did during the school year, and I will during this upcoming school year. The only reason I was denied for the Discover CLI was because my history was so short (didn't even have a FICO score yet). I always PIF. I didn't even think to include that because that just seems like it should go without question with the way I view credit haha. Anyway, yeah I always plan to PIF with any credit cards. As far as getting my other FICOs, is there any free way? Just the whole reason I'm into credit cards is to save money (rewards now and lower interest on loans in the future), so paying for anything credit related kind of contradicts why I do this stuff. I do plan to get a Citi Double Cash in the future, and then I'll have a monthly EQ FICO score as well. I have looked at all of the Capital One cards, but none of them are really rewards leaders. Because I'm mostly just interested in the very best cards for me and Capital One triple pulls, I'm not really interested in them. As far as the plausibility of getting these cards, I think that if I applied for only one of the them (except maybe the Fidelity), I would be approved because I've seen many thin, clean files approved for AmEx cards, seen people with only 6 months of credit history approved for the Freedom despite Chase saying that they like to see a year of history, and the Sallie Mae seems to be geared towards students or recent graduates, so it makes sense that thinner files get approved for the Sallie Mae card. Anyway, I could be totally wrong about any of this, but I think that I stand a decent chance for these cards on their own, but applying in the right order might be key to getting hopefully at least 3.

Anyway, did you check the chase approval site? I would apply for amex first. If you dont get approved, call in for a recon for a different product. I think you will be just fine with whichever card you select. I would apply for chase second. And Salliemae 3rd. Only because the first two have the most room to grow with you and therefor seem to be the priority to me. My reply doesnt have much advice, but hopefully it will bump it to the top so others will chime in! -
First Ever "App Spree" 5/5 Approved!
Closed on my duplex property purchase 6/30. Last week I apped for a Home Depot card at the appliance desk and received $4500. Called for CLI, asked for $10k and received $10k. Yesterday, the payoff of my existing Capital One account reported, so today I proceeded with my first ever post home purchase app spree! $3300 - Citi Dividend Preferred - 21 months 0%$1000 - AmEx Blue Cash ED - 15 months 0%$3000 - Capital One VentureOne - 12 months 0%$5000 - Chase Marriott$12000 - SYNC/Lowes (initial line $2000, called for CLI, asked for $20k, received $12k) These lines will help keep my overall utilization low while I do some remodeling/upgrades to my newly acquired property. I was approved for all 5 of the cards I went after today. I couldn't really be more pleased. I was not pre approved for any of the cards I got today. I was only ever pre-approved for the Home Depot card. Let me know if you have any questions!

NFCU and Mortgage Loans Question
I know someone who had a pre-approval from NFCU for a mortgage loan. I SO had been holding monies for this person for closing costs on the mortgage loan. After that person transferred the money to the new prospective mortgagee, NFCU asked where the closing costs moneys came from. The mortgagee told them that a SO had transferred the money. NFCU then advised that the whole amount would not be allowed to cover the closing costs and disapproved the previously approved loan based on that. NFCU said that only 15% of the transferred money could be used toward closing costs. This is their reason for disapproving the loan: Consumer could not cover the closing costs for the mortgage. Have any of you heard of such nonsense?

As long as the gifted funds can be documented by the gifter and there's a signed letter stating the the funds don't have to be repaid, then i don't see where NFCU would have had an issue. Window Memory usage even after closing windows
I've included links to a test app that does nothing but
launch a window, play a sound, close window / repeat.
When application launches it uses about 20mb of memory. When
you click on the only button, it will launch a secondary window
that will simply play a wav file. (I set the volume low but you may
want to mute it :D)
After launching and closing the window several times the
memory usage goes up considerably and *never* falls back a
significant %. (I got it to about 100MB before I decided to quit
trying to increase the memory usage. Right now it's been running
w/o any user interaction since opening about 10 windows and it's
fairly stable at around 61MB (although that appears to be
increasing w/o user interaction).
Does anyone know of any methods I can use to ensure that the
memory consumed by secondary windows does not just persist forever
even after closing the window? Is there something I'm doing wrong
here?

Note: When I *minimize* the window it looks like garbage
collection is forced and app drops back to 11MB (on restore back to
19mb).
Edit: note in your task manager, application appears as
JBTest.exeYou can call System.gc() to force the garbage collector to
run.
Try removing the event listeners when they aren't needed
anymore. I think it is more difficult for the gc to cleanup objects
when there are host objects (like Sound) refering to JavaScript
objects and JavaScript objects refering to host objects, so you
need to be especially careful about those. It SHOULD clean them up
eventually, but it may take longer for it to figure out that those
objects are no longer in use.
You might also clear the secondaryWindow reference in the
parent document when the window closes. That reference might retard
garbage collection, too. -
Why do I have time machine disk problem after closing and later reopening clamshell.
I consistently see the following after closing and later reopening my Macbook Pro (5,1). I have to unplug and replug my Time Machine USB drive.
The only thing new is Mountain Lion. The Time Machine disk has 229 GB free of 1.5 TB. I never had to unplug this drive under Lion.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I ran disc repair on Time Machine Drive yesterday, but it found nothing.

Time Machine is intended to be left enabled always whether a backup drive is connected or not. What Time Machine cannot handle properly is a situation where the backup drive loses power for whatever reason. Time Machine treats this, as does the OS, as an improper disconnect of an external drive without being properly ejected. This in turn throws Time Machine a little bit of a loop.
For you I would suggest not using Time Machine. Instead use a third-party backup utility that you can either schedule or run manually as you wish. They will work with the same drive you have used for Time Machine, but you will need to first erase the Time Machine drive using Disk Utility. Please DO NOT try dragging the Time Machine backups to the Trash.

Others may be found at MacUpdate. Each one can be used for a trial period. No need to pay for one until you've decided on which one you like best. I, for example, use Carbon Copy Cloner but please don't take that as a recommendation over the others. It's just my preference. All can be operated manually or can be set up to backup on a schedule you determine. Some can even be set up to backup as soon as the backup drive is connected.

My ipod will not let me use all but like 3 apps fully without closing me out of the app and i can only use safari or the app store for about 10 seconds without it shutting down the app. This has been happening for about 6 months after the upgrade to ios 4. Please help, should i take my ipod to an apple store?? It is a ipod 2nd generation itouch with ios 4.
We won't know until you try the procedure. The reset will not affect the content of the iPod.

Sizing issue for query runtime in portal
