App Store accessibility ?

I have a new iPad wifi enabled. Every time I try to access the Featured section of the App Store I get a message saying "your request could not be completed". All other sections of the App Store work. Does anyone know why this is & how to fix it? Powering off and restarting does not work.

Try quitting the app store app completely, then restart the iPad and see if it will connect to the featured tab.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • How to get the US app store access for iPhone?

Hey. I moved to the US 6 months ago and I would like to connect with the US appstore with my iPhone. Even though I provide a US mastercard and a US address, I get a notification that my session has timed out with the code 5107. I need some US apps and as I live here and provide a US payment method I don't understand why I can't change it. How can I get the US app store access?

You could go to he Expresslane: https://Expresslane.apple.com and iTunes and iTunes Store for help.

  • After Mountain-Lion-Install no App Store Access

After having installed Mountain Lion I can't access the App Store anymore. It speaks of an inexistant internet connection, altough I am able to surf with Safari. Some pages like outlook.com and the iTunes store are defectively loaded (layout is not shown correctly). Also Safari has certificate problems (but I suppose this is due to missing updates). May there be a connection to an older problem I have? From time to time I have to restart the wifi connection because of "having passed the time limit".
I have already tried to fix the problem by repairing the permissions and resetting Safari and by changing DNS-Server to 8.8.4.4. and 8.8.8.8.
    Thank you very much

Problem fixed: it was a certificate problem.

  • App Store Access with Mountain Lion - Administrator only?

    Hi All:
After installing ML, I noticed that I only have access to the app store when logged into the Administrator account.  When logged in through any other account, my app store has the message "Cannot Connect to the App store".  My internet connection is fine.
Has this always been the case where administrators can only access the app store?
    Thanks!

I've seen this too.  Sort of.  On my MBPro I was able to access the App Store with my user account to install updates after upgrading to ML.  On my iMac, it has been hit and miss, mostly miss.  The day I upgraded to ML I was able to install updates but it took several tries.  I attributed it to the servers being loaded down with the release of ML. However, I've not been able to access the store for three days now for one last install.  After reading your post I tried my admin account and it worked.  This doesn't answer your question but thanks for helping me out.

  • Itunes password on every app store access.

    Hi all,
Every time I access app store on the iphone, I have to type my itunes password. Some time ago, I did'nt even have to type it once.
Does anybody know how it can be adjusted so I don't have to type it anymore?
    thx

From page 170 of the iPhone User Guide: http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf
"For additional downloads made within the next fifteen minutes, you don’t have to enter your password again."
    Otherwise, the password is required.

  • US app store access

I live in Canada and cannot access new app updates for a game I have downloaded because the app is now only available in the US store.  Is there any way I can access these updates?  I don't believe I can change stores because my billing address is in Canada

No, if the developer has pulled the app from the Mac App Store in your country, then updates are no longer available to you.

  • App store access

    Hello everybody,
I gve to my uncle my old 3Gs but without deleteing first. He is not very experienced with mobile phones and I dont know what he did but I cannot access my Apple account.
The account i m writting you is the account i have opened when i was in UK. After I came back Romania I had to register a new account here, with a Romanian card.
The thing is i have tried to reset the password, but via email i dont receive any emails and with the security question (which i dont remember) i cannot pass the age verification process.
I was told by the support to call a number in Romania, but this number cannot be reached via a mobile phone and I dont have a land line.
Any ideas how can I solve this problem ?

I just found a review on Macworld where they confirmed that in software 2.0 downloads via the App Store are restricted to 10 MB when downloading over the carrier network. In case anyone is curious I also confirmed Monkey Ball is 35.3 MB where as Crash Bandicoot is only 7.1 MB. Apple really needs to update the App Store to show file sizes of apps prior to downloading. This would alleviate frustration for customers and ensure those with data usage limits don't go over their monthly allotment. I would also like to see the size restriction either increased or taken away entirely.

  • ITunes and App store access after changing Apple ID.

Having changed country of residence recently, I changed my Apple ID. However, the old ID continues to come up on my iPad and asks me for my password. The ID has been closed and it will not accept either my old password or my new password under the new ID. It does work on my PC under the new Apple Id, but I cannot access, download or update any apps etc on my iPad.
When attempting to access the Apps Store it constantly comes up with a log-in using my old ID and will not et me change that ID. If I try to change the password using "Forgot password", it simply will not recognise the old ID as being a valid ID. The email address for the old ID is no longer valid or in use and that is why I chnaged my Apple ID rather than setting up a new ID.
    Any help greatly appreciated

    Hi ,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I am sorry to hear that you cannot connect to or download from the iTunes and App Stores. There are some very good troubleshooting steps that I would recommend in this situation. Please follow the steps and information in the article below.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • App store access privileges, app store access privileges

I am searching but not finding a solution that helps me...when updating mobile apps in iTunes, I always get "do not have access privileges..."
iTunes points to my WD external drive as it has "forever" where my media folder is located. According to App Store app, all on my Intel Mini is updated.
    Aaaarghhh!

    Hello palemrgiggles,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iTunes.  That message occurs if permissions are incorrect on your iTunes folder or a folder inside that folder.  I recommend reviewing the following article:

  • App Store Access Overseas?

To be clear, I'm talking about the app store for Mac OS (NOT the iTunes store).
From the US, when the app store came out I was able to access the app store without any trouble.
Now that I've changed locations, currently Thailand, it won't load. When I open the app, the window comes up totally gray with the icons at the top. The "busy" spinning circle pops up but when it stops nothing loads in the window. Is there anything I can do to make it so I can actually access the app store?

    OP,
I have the exact same problem.  I'm located in the United States Virgin Islands.  The app store won't load from the dock, same "trying to load" but no go.  I go to the iTunes store and search for Lion download but all I can find is are "component" Lion downloads.
My suspicion is that it is a Red Line issue whereby if you aren't in the U.S. proper, you are excluded from downloads from the Mac App store.
I've run into this in other areas with my friends in Cuperino and the one frustrating issue is not being able to get clear guidance.  I can, for instance, purchase Appl products from resellers in the states and have them shipped here, but Appl won't ship hardware here from their site and for crying out loud, I am IN the United States, albeit a Territory.
    Carolyn, will all due deference:
    1.  My current edition MacBook Pro is at 10.6.8 and before looking for a Lion I ran a software update and am current in all areas.
    2.  There is (must be) a difference in how the iTunes Store responds depending on location because LION is NOT available from the store when I access it directly.

  • App Store access is blocked on our network...

as it is seen to be part of the iTunes store which is blocked on the company network. Any way around this? None of my Mac users can get updates which makes troubleshooting issues difficult. The current "can't access App Store" issue is not helping either. If I connect with my cellular card there's no issue so I know that it's related to our LAN/WAN.

If your network is blocking use of the iTunes/Mac App Store, then that is an issue to solve on your end. You will need to troubleshoot that issue with whomever is responsible for the network.

  • How to change my Apps Store access from Switzerland to U.S.A.

........so I can buy Apps available in the U.S.A.

Are you a legal resident of the USA?
To buy from a particular nations store you must be a legal resident of the country, supply a credit card issued to you by a bank in that country that has a verifiable billing address in that country. If you are a resident of Switzerland, I have my doubts that you legally qualify to make purchases in the US store.

  • Firewall blocking access to app store

Anyone know how to circumvent a firewall blocking app store access (same for itunes) - I can confirm access  when on a different network.

found http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1629 which give port number etc for itunes - which I assume as the same for app store

  • International App Store Control

I am currently in one of the countries with out App store access and can not access the App store to buy items. I have read post about this where excuses are given saying that it is due to goverment relations, trading laws and service..... I agree this can be the case but not for an unlimmited amount of time. (5-10 years)??? Why not invest a bit of capital and make things happen. I am sure the returns will be worth the investment. The community that are developing app's will also be happy to have a larger market. The Alternative operating system looks more-and-more attractive every day.
If you sell a product that indicate (suggest) that the online store is part of your product and service, is it then not wrong to deny that service?
Even the free programs are blocked/denied/control.
Sounds more to me like stagnation than problems. Problems can be solved....

This is a Mac user to user technical forum. No one here can tell you why there is no Mac App Store where you live. Apple is not here and does not respond to complaints like this one that you have posted. You are free to believe or not believe any ideas folks offer as to why there is no MAS in your country, but threats to become a Windows box user carries no weight here. Folks will just laugh at you.

  • After IOS8 can't connect to App Store or ITunes Store on IPad 2.   Tried logging out but now won't let me log back in!

Completely frustrated and considering dropping Apple.  My IPad 2 is quickly becoming a brick after loading IOS 8.  No WIFI problems, IOS up to date, logged out of the App Store and ITunes in settings - but no app store access, no ITunes access and my photos now won't load to IMAC.  Any suggestions?  Jeez, I really liked my Apple products, too...

    Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
              8.8.8.8
              8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
    In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
    Notes:
    1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the  Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
    2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.
