App Store - An unknown error has occurred

Hi,
Trying to update OSX. When I enter to AppStore with My Apple ID it always says - "An unknown error has occurred".
I tried to create another account (as I read in some message form Apple Support) but it just keeps thinking, with no results.
I would like to update OSX, but I can't find the way.

Hi,
I used to do it directly from terminal.
mv /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces2.plist
mv: it will move file NetworkInterfaces.plist to NetworkInterfaces2.plist
Or you can go directly to the folder:
cd /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
and the move the file
mv NetworkInterfaces.plist NetworkInterfaces2.plist
hope it helps

  • In App Purchase An unknown error has occurred with test user account

I have created a test app that has in app purchasing. I am able to connect to the store and verify my product ID's. I then use my test user account to purchase a product. And guess what... it works... the first time. If I try to use the test user account to buy another product (the same product or a different one) then I get a pop up that says
    "An unknown error has occurred"
with a "Cancel" and "Retry" option. If I retry then I get the same error. After hitting cancel I get the error:
Error Domain=SKErrorDomain Code=0 UserInfo=0x161180 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"
    Any ideas?

I am having the same problem with my test account on multiple versions of iPhones. Any idea? Would this error affect real users?

  • I can't download Lion from App Store - says an error has occured. Have rebooted and contacted Apple support. Can anybody help?

Every time I try to download Lion, the download, the download appears to start, but then stops, saying an error has occured, with nothing downloaded, and the App icon disappears from the dock.
    Has anybody else experienced similar?

same problem and precisely with the OS X lion up to date program.
I called apple but they said there's nothing they can do for now. there are many problems they are trying to resolve and one of them is the up to date program.
the only solution available they said is to wait. but they didn't specify for how long.
One would think that they'd test their solution well when they took the decision to make the OS available only though the appstore or at least offer a back up solution should people be unable to obtain it like it is the case for us.

  • ITunes Store: An unknown error has occurred (4002)...

Can anyone tell me what this means. Every time I open my iTunes I get this message.
We could not complete your iTunes Store request.
    An unknown error occured (4002).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
I don't know what is trying to download or why I am getting this error. Is there something I need to look for?

Store > Turn off iTunes Match
Store > Update Genius (let it run & finish)
Store > Turn on iTunes Match (set it going and it should work properly)

after finishing watching a movie (paid movie), I tried renting another one but the "Could not sign in " error stopped me from doing that.  I have restarted the Apple TV many times, turned it off, restarted my cable modem, and much more. However, I am still getting this error. I would appreciate if anyone could give me a possible solution to this problem.

Make sure you have the correct country selected. Click the round flag icon bottom right side of the App Store window.

  • I can't connect with the App store.  It says "An unknown error has occurred"

This just started a few days ago on my MacBook Pro.  My account is working fine - I can access it on my phone.  But I can't get to it on my computer.
The first sign of trouble was when I tried to use a previously purchase app.  The app wouldn't open and gave me a message saying it wasn't purchased on this computer (which it was) and that I needed to enter my password.  When I entered it, it said "An unknown error has occured".  The first time it happened, I rebooted the machine and then the app opened and I was fine.  Next day same problem.  Our IT guy (not a real IT guy, I work for a small company and he is the most knowledgable about computer so he gets to do double duty) suggested making sure all software was up to date.  I downloaded updates, the computer rebooted, and I was fine again.  Day three comes and same problem.  Rebooting didn't help.  IT guy suggests upgrading to latest OS.  But when I try to access the app store to get the new OS, it asks for my password, and then says "An unknown error has occurred".  The computer can see my account.  It has my ID right, and I have a credit balance which I just updated last night and is being properly reflected on the home page.  But I can't buy anything or see details about my account.  I keep getting the same pop-up.
Any idea what is happening or how to fix this?

    On what OS?

  • Why am i getting an error message that says "an unknown error has occured" when i try to update my apps in the app store

Can someone please offer some suggestions why I am getting an error message that says "an unknown error has occured" when I try to download or update my apps in the app store?
    Thanks!
disregard! i noticed someone else's post about signing out of the app store and signing in again and it worked.....

    Hi ...
Try here > Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing
If that doesn't help, drag the App Store icon straight up off your Dock so it goes, "poof".
Now drag the App Store icon from your Applications folder to the Dock. Try updating your apps.
