App store approval process

Hi,
I'm SharePoint admin of a SharePoint online tenancy, and feeling really thick, but I'm struggling with the process of users requesting an app.
Scenario:
User from his site goes Site Contents -> Add an app -> SharePoint store and finds a free app.  He chooses "Request it".
I go to the appCatalog on our tenancy, edit the request item in the list, marking it as "approved".
Then what?  The user still seems unable to add the app to his site, he can see that I've approved it, but can't get any further.
I realise this is probably really simple, but I can't understand it.
I have found that as admin, I can go and get the app, but a) that doesn't seem right to me, if it were to cost money, I don't want to pay for it, and b) it becomes available to install on every single site in our tenancy, I thought I was just approving it
for one site.
Thanks a lot.  Ps is this my first post so if I've done something wrong, I apologise in advance!
Richard.

Approving an app purchase will approve it for the entire tenancy, not just a specific site.  That's the way its designed to work.  Also, does your user have the required permissions to add an app to a site.  it requires the
Manage Web site and Create Subsites permissions to add an app for SharePoint.  Regular users won't have those permissions.

Will app store approve an app to load external swf containing actionscript code in it?

Hi...It is not in the application bundle...it will be hosted on a server and from there it will be loaded in the application. I had created one sample application where it is loading a swf which is hosted on different server. This swf contained some actionscript code on its timeline. This app was working on ipad. I just wanted to know whether App Store will approve this.

  • Is anyone else having problems with App Store not processing updates?

For last 36 hours, App Store is not processing updates. Rebooted, and hard rebooted. Tried tapping on apps to force a download, from the Purchased list and the home screen. Ipad also will not access new 8.1 version today. Any suggestions?

The iTunes and Mac App Store / iCloud problem spontaneously resolved for me as of 21:54 Pacific Standard Time on 9/30/2012.
Someone at Apple was aware of and fixed the problem. Finally.
    Yeah!

  • App store not processing Mavericks installation

    About my mac:
    Running OSX 10.7.5
    Mid 2010 iMac
I've tried all other assists, such as the sudo command but none have proven successful. What essentially goes wrong is that I click to install and am given a blank page in the "Purchases" tab under Mavericks:

There are two ways to recover from this condition.
    1. Select
    Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. Stop or resume the download.
    2. Open LaunchPad and find the icon of the app you're trying to install. There will be a small progress bar below it. Click the "X" to stop the download.

  • I am wondering how often apple updates the App Store which processes new app updates

Does anybody know how often apple updates their stor,  I am waiting for an update to my favorite app to be released

New apps are added daily for the most part.  When a developer submits an update, the update is reviewed.  Depending on the number of apps for review, I have heard it can be a couple of days to a couple of weeks for updates to be made available.  Your app's developer should know the approximate release date (or at least when they submitted the update.).

  • Affiliate links & app store approval

I've shied away from commerce in apps -- but would love to include some amazon affiliate links in something I'm working on. Has anyone done this, for physical goods, e.g., books? In the past, Amazon frowned on links from mobile devices, though that was pre-ipad days, and now we get into a semantic discussion about a mobile device. I'm more worried about Apple and their policies about "buy" links, though I think Apple's rules are (more) specific to digital goods.
If anyone has experience with this, pro or con, please share.
    Thanks
    David

I don’t think Amazon cares. You can generate a link using the share on twitter feature.
I won’t even pretend to know if Apple may have a problem with it.

  • Are apps in App Store approved by Apple?

I just downloaded "Memorial" (to 9-11).  it contains pics and videos from the attack.  The videos are coded in Flash!
This is not the first time that this has happened to me.  I trashed the others as I expect that I will do with this one.

Contact iTunes and tell them. they just *might* refund your money.
BTW, what did the user reviews say about this app? Did they mention some of the pics were in Flash? You may want to review it yourself and let other people know so they won't get that app.
As I had indicated previously, this app was a freebie.  However, I should have been suspicious about the reviews.  There were too many glowing reviews the first day that the app was released.  I now believe that they were "plants" (which also disturbs me).  After I had my issue, I read through many of them and, when you get to the bottom, there are some negative reviews that do mention the Flash issue.

  • The App Store

    Hey Guys,
This is my first post and to start off i'd like to say i'm loving my iPhone but i do have one question about the App Store coming this month in the update.
I would'nt dare think about jailbreaking my phone but is it possible that some of the existing third party apps may be included in the App Store ?
To say set themes and things ?
    Thanks in advance guys,
    Tina

Some of the existing non-authorized or approved 3rd party applications may be available via the iTunes App Store - if some of the developers of this software go through the iTunes App Store approval process.
The iTunes App Store made available via iTunes on your computer, may require an iTunes update along with firmware update 2.0 for the iPhone.

  • TS3274 Images of the apps in App Store not showing plus images in some apps

The images of the app in the App Store not loading and images in apps that are already loaded not showing, the text and everything else is fine only the images are not loading..?

    Hi, Pepe6.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would recommend closing all applications in multitasking and power cycling the device.  Test the App Store after processing these steps.

  • TS1424 MY Ipad shows 2 updates available but when I try to open the update section of the app store it does nothing.

I have an IPAD2 which has been great however last week I could see I had two updates and I when to the app store to process those updates and when I
did the program just sat there.  I opened the other tabs and I downloaded a program.  I have shut down completely and rebooted.  I went to the itunes store on my pc and applied updates to that. Everything seems to work except the download updates tab.  Any suggestions?

It seems Apple is having some issues at their end. There have been hundreds of posts on the forum with the same problem.

  • Private Label Apps - is approval possible?

We are planning to create a Private label application with different themes and different feed server with same fuctionality for multiple clients. Is it possible to post multiple versions in Apple App store approval.

We call that app "Ex-Girlfriend Who Still Has the Passcode to Your Phone".  Seriously, though, unless your phone has been jailbroken, not, it's not possible.
Actually, there are now claims that it is possible, at least in theory:

Whether such an app could slip by Apple's controls over the iTunes Store is an open question.

  • Upgrading from cd install to app store for iwork

I'm currently at snow leopard, but preparing to updated to Mavericks (which I still have waiting to update on my MBP). I have the cd installed version of iwork, but software update, after a certain version, stopped offering updates. I know iwork went to the app store instead. Will my 3 iwork apps be recognized by the app store update process after I update to Mavericks, or will I have to delete and repurchase through the Mac App store? Just trying to get a heads up

If you previously downloaded Mavericks from the OS X App Store, you will be able to download it again. If not, it is gone, and no longer available — and you will either need to upgrade to Yosemite, or purchase Mountain Lion from the Apple Online Store. If you choose Yosemite, it is advisable on older hardware that you strongly consider 8GB of RAM. Do a total system backup before you update the OS.
You could also install the newer OS X alongside Snow Leopard in its own partition, and give yourself a dual-boot machine.
Since the iWork '09 DVD installs application dependent Frameworks (libraries) into the operating system, you should assume that these may get purged during any operating system update. I would recommend reinstallation from the iWork '09 DVD, followed by this Apple iWork 9.3 updater, which brings these applications to their last revision. If you install Mountain Lion, the OS X App Store will tell you that new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are available, but not compatible with Mountain Lion, it may then offer to update your iWork '09 applications. If not, then the preceding advice.
The iWork '09 applications (well Pages anyway) sees the iCloud Drive in Yosemite. The Share menu item, Send via Mail, is now inoperable.

    Has it been 24 hours?
I take it this was a gift card.  iTunes Store:  Invalid, Inactive, or Illegible codes http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1292 - gift cards
I don't know if this provides an alternative means: https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'iTunes' in the first column; 'iTunes Store' in the second column
If you are really desperate you could buy the app yourself, then request reimbursement.

    Hi,
Install the v10.6.6 combo update available here. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.6. The combo includes fixes that were not included in the original update.

Restart your Mac and try the MAS again.
You can download apps directly from the MAS once you have it running.
Considering the TM backup took so long, make sure there's enough space on your Mac startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space.*

  • Single Edition - How long for approval from Apple to App Store? Is Content Viewer an Option?

    Hello -
I am in somewhat of a predicament. We have a client who has just told us that they would like to make an app we created for them available for attendees of a conference, somewhere from 100-300 people. The app we created for them was just done and put into Content Viewer, as it was just for that one client, and on that one iPad.
Now, we'd like to make it public for 100-300 people, so we are going to purchase the single edition. But, we need this up and available for purchase in the app store in 10 days. I realize it varies from case to case, but does anyone think there's a chance the Apple App store could approve in enough time, say if we uploaded on a Monday and needed it to be available on a Friday?
If not - anyone have ideas for contigency plans? Some questions I have: how many Adobe IDs can an app be shared with? Like, would it be possible to share the folio with one Adobe ID, and then give that login to people at the conference who want to see the app, and then they log in to Adobe Content Viewer, log in, and download if they want. Seems shaky at best, but is it worthy as a backup plan?
    Thanks much,
    B

You can check some websites that give a average idea of the current wait times for an app to be reviewed.
I generally use the below to give myself an idea of the wait time. I do not use these type of sites when talking to clients however.
