App store asks me to sign in constantly. why?

app store asks me to sign in constantly. why?

Hello!
I suggest that if this problem is on your Mac, in order to solve this problem, we trash the /sc info/ folder using the Terminal command below:
Open a Terminal window - for example by searching for the word terminal via Spotlight (the magnifying glass in the top right corner of your computer display) - and copy-paste the line below:
    sudo rm -Ri /Users/Shared/SC\ Info/
Enter your password after pressing return. Note that your will not see that you're typing, so no stars or dots like: *** You'll have to enter the password blindly and press return once you’re finished.
After doing this, restart your computer, open iTunes and authorize one last time.
For your education, so you know what we’re doing: this /sc info/ folder stores your authorizations. So deleting the folder and restarting the Mac will force a fresh version to be created. This fresh version will not have any of the errors or corruptions which are probably causing this issue.
Issue solved?
If the problem is on your iPhone, restart or reset the iPhone: Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  • App Store Asking Me To Sign Into itunes to Update An App

I've just tried to update an app on app store, when i click on 'update' it asks me to sign into itunes.
I put my password in and nothing happens, it then comes up again. My password is correct, but it just doesn't do anything!
    Anyone had this problem?
One last thing, i've had a look around on my phone and i've noticed i'm not signed into itunes and app store on general settings.
    Could this be the problem?
any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Mine started that too recently. Even this morning, I was web browsing when all of a sudden the password screen popped up asking me for my password. I didn't enter it and everything was fine but I removed my credit card info and changed my password from iTunes just in case.
There have been a lot of stories recently about bogus iTunes charges, so I feel better to be safe than sorry.

  • App store asking me to sign into another account?

    Hello,
I have a lot of apps on my MacBook Pro that were downloaded with an old account ID. When I try and update those, it asks me to sign out of my current ID, and back into the old one to update.
However, when I log into the other ID and try to download, that doesn't work either.
It says "Please sign into the other ID to download", yet I am currently in that one!
    Can anyone help? Thanks!

Thanks Illaass. You know I couldn't think of any time that my wife purchased an app on my iPod, but then it occurred to me that she bought the device for me as a gift. iBooks was loaded on it at the time. Maybe somehow in those early transactions it became an app in her account -- or something. Anyway, I simply used her password (which she kindly gave me) to update.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • I need an information. If i want to download a free app, the app store ask me the credti card. Why?

  • I cannot change apple id when the app store asks me to update anything

i cannot change apple id when the app store asks me to update anything

App Store products can only be updated by signing in to the store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to download them. You can't update anything, including your own purchases, as long as there are pending updates linked to the other ID.
If you can't sign in with the other ID, you have to delete all the apps that are linked to it. If you don't know which apps those are, see below.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    3. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
    4. At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Delete each such item by following the instructions in the Apple Support article linked above.
    5. Quit and relaunch the App Store.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • Purchased app no longer available - App store asks me to pay again.

I purchased Call of Duty 2 on the app store, played it through and then deleted it, expecting that I could download it again when I wanted to play it again. That has been possible with other games - and Call of Duty 2 - but now COD2 isn't in my purchased list, and the App store asks me to pay again for it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi...
You may need to "unhide" the purchase..
Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
    Then follow these instructions...
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

  • The Simpsons Tapped Out, update through App Store asking for payment?

I am a daily player of TSTO, but I can't update cause when it takes me on to the App Store it's saying "sign in required" and then taking me to my account for billing information. Even though I found this strange I went ahead and put in my billing information. When I click done it's bring up the message "Your payment method was declined, please enter another payment method"?!? I have NO IDEA why it's even asking me for any sort of payment in the first place as it's a free game, and how could there possibly be a problem with my payment method as I use this exact same payment method everytime. Nothing has changed, card hasn't expired etc... I contacted EA Support team at first, and they said the exact same, it shouldn't be asking for any sort of payment! They advised me to contact apple but being from the UK this is pretty much impossible. There is NO way to contacted them about this sort of problem without having to pay an arm and a leg to phone them! I managed to email them through some sort of help thing that I now can't even find, but it's been 2 day's and still no reply...
If anyone can help thanks to you in advance

Well in my experience with having an iPhone for over 2 years, it is pretty hard to get help from them. I'll try that link though, thanks. Why is it asking me to update payment info? NOTHING about my payment info has changed and I know that I'm not the only person has this issue before. I used the same payment method the other day with no hassle
Anyway, even when I do put in the correct billing info again (updating I suppose)it's declining???

  • My iPhone3GS running iOS5 has recently been reluctant to upgrade Apps. The App store asks for my password and then marks all the Apps as being updated. Often only one or none actually update. Usually I get a message saying "Unable to download application"

My iPhone3GS running iOS5 has recently been reluctant to upgrade Apps. The App store asks for my password and then marks all the Apps as being updated. Often only one or none actually update. Usually I get a message saying "Unable to download application" and "<app> could not be downloaded at this time - Done or Retry".
It's not an iTunes login / password issue because sometimes one or two of the Apps will download and the others stall with the blank progress bar. The internet connection is working fine in all other respects.
Sometimes, many restarts later the downloads will complete. Is this a known bug? Is Apple working on it? Any fixes?

  • Iphone app store asks for old apple id when i try to update apps

I recently reset my apple id. However when I try to update apps in my iphone it asks for my old apple id info. When I enter this in it states that the info is incorrect and needs to be reset. However when I download new apps the app store asks for my recently updated apple id info. When I have tried to delete the apps that need to be updated and buy them again, I was charged for the app. As a result I cannot update any apps. How can I fix this?

You changed it wrong. You should have done it this way:

  • GarageBand already downloaded, Mac App Store asking me to pay for it again!

I have a 2008 model of the iMac. It started out on Snow Leopard and came with an iLife '09 disc which had GarageBand. It is now running OS X Yosemite and I have updated all of my iLife apps except for GarageBand. I wanted to update it from the Mac App Store, but the App Store asked me to pay for GarageBand again! Is this supposed to happen? Is there any way around this?

I wanted to update it from the Mac App Store, but the App Store asked me to pay for GarageBand again! Is this supposed to happen? Is there any way around this?
No, there is no way around that, sorry.
To upgrade from your  iLIfe '09 version of GarageBand to GarageBand 10.0 is a major upgrade - you can recognize a paid upgrade by the version number. If the first digits are different, it is a paid upgrade; only if only the digits behind the first decimal point change, it is a free update.
If you  upgrade, don't uninstall your current version. You may want to use your GarageBand '09 loops and instruments with the new version. It has a very different set of instrument and loops.

Aperture purchased from the App Store asking for Serial Number?
Has anyone seen this? I just updated the app and now I can't get in.
    I don't understand.

First thing to try is delete the app. Open the Mac App Store and the status in the Purchases section should update to "Install". Click to download the full app rather than an update.
