App store connection

I am having a problem connecting to the app store to download apps.  I am using Lion, keep all my software up to date.  I can see the app store but when it comes to installing the updates for specific apps I get a pop up stating cannot connect to app store.  How do I fix this?

Me too, as well as others. I think the problem is an App Store problem, I tried suggestions on this forum, installed the 10.8.2 combo update, tried to connect from my backup drive all without success. Hopefully Apple will fix this soon.

  • I can't login to the App Store - connection failed...

yesterday I had totally forgot my password and security question & went through 'Apple Express Lane' in getting assistance to reset my password for my ID "[email protected]" account so I can update to Lion OSX & merge my MobileMe account to iCloud through the 'App Store'
the password was reset and was able to login to the App Store with new password and download OSX Lion.
I have now successfully installed OSX Lion and have completed all the updates up to OSX Lion 10.7.3
after the updates, I wanted to purchase some games through the App Store and tried to login, but I get a message in red
    'Connection Failed'
I tried to find answers and post a topic in 'Apple Discussions Forum' using Safari 5.1.3, but it won't let me sign-in on my ID '[email protected]' and my password.I get the following message :
'This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons. Visit iForgot to reset your account (https://iforgot.apple.com). Forgot your Apple ID?'
But I just reset it with the Express guy??
The other thing is I keep getting 'security certificates' popping up as well every time I attempt to login into 'Apple Discussions' or click to another webpage for a different site. Even when I click on legitimate(I hope) certificate to always trust, I find I have to repeat the step again
even with iTunes when I go to sign in I get the following:
iTunes can't verify the identity of the server "buy.itunes.apple.com"
The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "buy.itunes.apple.com" , which could put your confidential information at risk. Would like to connect to the server anyway?
so... wishing I didn't upgrade now
I had gone back to the apple support by email and they said I needed to reset my password again.
which have done and still no change. Twice now over the last two days in changing password.
When I use 'Firefox 10.0.2' I can login to iCloud & Apple Support Community & and don't get the pop up verify security cert's
I hope I have given 'enough' details, any help would greatly appreciated
    My Hardware specs:

  • Mac App Store Connection Failed After Mavericks Update

    Hi y'all,
immediately after I updated my Lion to Mavericks (10.9.1), I could not access no more Mac App Store: as I enter my (valid and active) Apple ID credentials, I receive a "Connection Failed" message (in red, in the same login dialog, under the user id field).
So I've tried to set to "Always Trust" all of my Class 3 Certificates in my Keychain, I removed all of the Mac Appstore plist files (appstore and storeagent), I've also tried to remove the network preferences plist file to reset my network interfaces preferences, I've also deleted the ocsp and crls cache files, and I've setup the ocsp and crls certificates preferences in my Keychain Access to off.
I obviously checked out my App Store account and it's correct and active - I'm also currently using it on my iPhone, iPad and iPod with no problem at all!
Anyway I wanted to try creating a new App Store account from the Mac AppStore itself: after I validated it, I tried to login into Mac AppStore... with no success!
So, NONE of the above mentioned attempts solved the problem, and I'm WORRIED and astonished wondering HOW APPLE COULD RELEASE A MAJOR O.S. UPDATE THAT SMASHES THE MAC APP STORE, WHICH IS ONE OF THE CORE APPS OF THIS O.S.!!! I use Mac OSes since many years and I never had O.S. problems (only some minor issue with third party applications out of Apple's scope and solved with some simple workaround).
CAN ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME? :-)
    THX IN ADVANCE,
    DANI

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

  • Mac App Store connection failed

    Hi all,
Haven't been able to login to App Store with ID. Keeps saying connection failed, but user and PW are correct. In fact, have changed PW a few times to ensure. Have looked at other threads ..... changing class 3 public to trust ..... parental locks ..... date and time ...... all failed to allow me in.
I'm signed in under root, yet when I log in under different user, App Store works fine..... purchased iPhoto update, upgraded pictures in library under different user and worked. Went back to root and can't log in, tried upgrading iPhoto and when I open app, tells me to update pictures then crashes.
    Getting frustrated. Any help appreciated.
    Thx.

    I'm signed in under root
That's why it isn't working. You should never log in as root.

  • App Store Connect Problem

I keep getting a (-54) error message when I try to connect to the App Store; resolve - how?

This one is a bit rare, but looks pretty close to 50 which is rather common:
iTunes Store: "Error (-50)" when downloading purchased content
              http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1583
Now that I think of it, there may be no similarity between these two. If no one jumps with the answere by tomorrow evening I'll try to dig deeper for you.

  • I lose my app store connection.

For somehow no reason, i've lost connection with my app store on my ipad since at least 1 month.... Can somebody tell me what happen, coz i can' t update any applications ever since.

Ok, so you are telling me that the problem is now with both the blue  App Store, and the pink iTunes store icon is that correct?
What happens in detail as soon as you click on them? I need more hints on what's happening here.

  • Missing Update Application button in App Store connect?

I have an application in the App Store that I would like to update with a major bug fix release, but the "Update Application" button is missing from my Manage Applications page. There's also an ancient minor update that's been stuck "In Review" forever, but should be discarded. What's the fix, or the proper channel to ask for help? Or are a whole bunch of other developers in the same boat?

  • Apps Store connection problem!

Every 3/4 apps purchase made always have a loading problem! How can i fix this? I've tried reboot, reset or any thing else but the problem persist. Man! I dont know what to do next. Been trying every recommended step by everyone, but it seems the problem still bugging me! Please anyone, any more good suggestions?

Well i think the only last solution is:
    1. Connect your ipad to a pc/mac and Restore your ipad. Before that, go to settings in your ipad and reset ipad to factory settings.
    2. If you are using a sim card/3G connection, try connect using wifi or another simcard 3G and try to Download again.
This is to diagnose if your simcard is the culprit/problematic.
    3. If the problem persist after this, send it back to your mac dealership for service, maybe they can diagnose whats wrong!
    Good Luck!

  • Hung application interfering with internet, app store connection

i received an ipad as a gift. I attempted to upgrade the operating system, and then tried to quit the install as it gave me an estimated upload time of 16 hours. I now have an icon "waiting" that is hanging my entire operation. I can't find a way to delete it and I can't get access to internet. Any suggestions?

Does anyone else have this problem or another idea to try?

  • The apple id connected with the app store for updates and purchases is outdated and will not change with the new apple id entered on my settings. how to change?

I have changed the apple id on my settings to reflect the current account for all our apple products.
But this is not changing when I go to the App store to make a purchase or install updates.
How do I get the app store connection on my IPAD to go to the apple id i am currently using.
Obviously just changing it on the settings was not enough.

Again, this only affects you if someone *redownloaded* content with a different ID. In my case, I emailed iTunes Store support, explained the situation, and they reset the counter.  I recommend you try the same
If you read discussion boards, this is a significant change from a year ago, when Apple told people in the same situation to go f&$# themselves.  Clearly it's dawning on them that this is a stupid policy, and my guess is if people keep complaining they'll change it to something more reasonable.  Remember, it wasn't that long ago you couldn't re-download content at all.
Apple can't really afford to play hardball on this. Sure, the hardcore fanboys will always say "Thank you sir, may I have another" whatever Apple throws at them,  but the rest of us will just switch to Amazon, which has none of these restrictions.
