App Store crashing on launch after Mavericks update

Hi all. I upgraded to Mavericks about a week ago and haven't really been using my macbook pro since (its a late 2008 or 9 model, I don't remember). Anyways I have to use it now while my PC is being fixed and the app store crashes upon launching with what appears to be a similar crash log each time. I will attach the log in here somewhere. If there is a way to re-install the app store manually I might be able to fix it, otherwise I'm hoping you apple guys and gals can help me out. The app store is crucial as I'm sure you're all aware. Thanks in advanced.
Crash Log (taken a week back when it didn't work then either):

Edit* Found a post in this thread stating to reinstall OS. https://discussions.apple.com/message/23498644#23498644
Did the trick, many thanks to that user.

  • Illustrator CC crashes on launch after Maverick update (10.10.1).

I've just updated to Maverick 10.10.1 and now I cannot open Illustrator CC.  It looks like it is loading, but after about 30 seconds it crashes and I am offered up a screen to send Adobe an error report.
I've tried uninstalling, quitting CC, re-installing Illustrator and restarting CC.  No luck.  There are no 3rd party plug-ins in the Illustrator folder.  I've restarted my computer.  Not too sure where to go from here.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    jr,
You could try to reinstall using the full three step way:
Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

  • App store doesn't work after mavericks update

after installing mavericks, can't start app store

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

  • App store login - not working since Mavericks update

    All,
Since I updated to Mavericks, I find I am unable to log into the App Store. I get the login pane OK, enter my credentials, then get a spinner that waits... and waits... And never works.
The Apple ID I am using is good - iTunes likes it fine, and I'm using it to post this. Just the App Store, and only since the Mavericks update; indeed I used the Apple ID to install Mavericks...
Google tells me I am not the only one seeing this - but the suggested fixes do not seem to work for me. Do we know if a "proper" actual official fix wil be forthcoming?
Indeed, do Apple acknowledge that some folks are having a problem with this?
Anyway, in case anyone else stumbles onto this one:
    - There are many threads suggesting that deleting the network plist helps (though did not for me)
    - For some, deleting /Users/ian/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist helps (though not for me...)
    - and so on.
What "works" for me, albeit as a workaround, is to create a new user account on the machine, and use that to access the App Store - with the same ID etc., but this time it works. At least one time, so far!
I'd much rather my regular account Just Worked.
Any of the accounts (myself, wife, etc.) on the machine before the Mavericks upgrade however; they can not log into the App Store any more.
No Idea why not; presumably "something" changed in the updates and that broke the login in some way; though why iTunes et al appear unaffected is less clear!

Just an update to note that, after leaving it alone for a while, I tried the app store again today and it now works from my regular account once again.
    Which is nice...
No idea what changed in the meantime, but at least it appears to be working.

  • IBooks, Mail, After Affects, Quick Time Player, Maps, App Store, won't open after Mavericks install/update

Just about everything on computer is slow as mollases after Mavericks Update. I am very angry because I can't use After Effects at all. It says it's not compatible with this new system. My mail application crashes as soon as I open it. Notification centre is non-existent now and Messages app won't open at all. Other apps such as iBooks, Mail, After Affects, Quick Time Player, Maps, App Store, and a few others won't open at all on this new system. I'm soo angry with Apple as I've never had so many problems with a new OS X. .. I would love to downgrade back to Mountain Lion OS. Anyone with helpful info, please respond. Thanks.

  • After restore, itunes and app store crash on launching

I just restored my OS (latest 3.2) due to some problems. Now itunes and app store crash a few seconds after launching. If I'm not connected to internet then they don't crash (but of course they are useless)

What was the problem that caused you to restore? Maybe there is some corruption that is in the backup that is causing the problem. I would try restoring to as-new condition to see if the iPad works all right in that configuration and then determine how to proceed.

  • After updating to iOS4.3.5 App Store crashes on launch...

I recently restored my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3.5 after previously running 4.3.3 jailbroken with jailbreakme.com.
After the restore I am no longer able to use the App Store... It just crashes on launch.
I have restored several times... I have reset network settings... I have hard reset using the power button and home button...
I really don't want to have to restore as a new iPhone as I have lots of messages with information that I need.
Could it be due to the new 90 day policy, restricting additional devices?
Can anyone help, bare some light on the situation or just explain why this is happening??
If you have a similar problem please join this thread and state your situation too so you can be linked in to any outcome.
    Thank you.

Okay... I have managed to fix my problem.
I restored by putting my iPhone 4 into DFU mode first.
1.Turn iPhone off using the power button
    2. Plug iPhone into computer
    3. Press and hold power, and home button together for 10 seconds
    4. Release power button, but continue to hold home button until iphone is recognised by iTunes
Remember to back up your iPhone before doing this!!!
    Restore and update iPhone....
One problem I had after doing this is that the Mail icon was nowhere to be seen...
If this is the case for you go to...
    Settings>General>Restrictions>Enable Restrictions>Enter passcode (twice)> Then Disable Restrictions
This didn't actually work at first, so I played around with the settings in Restrictions, After turning everything off and then back on again, I disabled restrictions and low and behold, mail was back.
I hope this helps you if you've also been having difficulties.

  • App store doesn't work since Mavericks Update.

I've been looking all over for a solution to this problem. Ever since I upgraded to Maverics on my 2010 iMAC, the app store is effectively dead. It takes a
long time to load the app. The icons (updates//purchases, etc) across the top do nothing and sometimes call a spinning ball of death. I can make it work by logging out (not even a restart) and logging back in again. It will work for a little while, then go out to lunch again. I've tried various fixes, including
         resetting PRAM
clearning out caches/cookes and such that are appstore releated. (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5523685?tstart=0)
fixing the permissions of the home folder (https://discussions.apple.com/message/22861032#22861032), which only confused the snot out of Carbonite.
changing DNS to point to google's servers rather than my ISPs
boot into restore partiion and reinstall Mavericks.
The only think that works is logging out and back in and using the app store app before doing much else.
Starting the appstore app provides these messges in the appstore.log file

Interestingly, I have 5 machines running Mavericks (2 iMacs, 2 MBAs and 1 MBP) and only one of the iMacs shows this problems. All of the other machines work flawlessly.
Is there any solution to this problem? It's driving me nuts.

  • MacBook Pro 2010 crashing / kernal panic after Mavericks update

After we  updated our MacBook Pro (late 2010) to mavericks, it has a kernal panic crash not just on wake/sleep, but also when a program is opened (usually 2 or 3rd program).
it happens when plugged in and when unplugged. I have tried a few of the "fixes" but nothing has helped. Doesn't seem to be the power issues some have sugested. Also, doesn't appear to be a HP issues others have also had.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I tried tons of things from the forums and the rest of the internet:
*deleted the Mac App Store - copied from another Mac
*reinstalled the 10.7.1 update (the error actually happened on 10.7.0 before I updated to 10.7.1)
*shouted at the Mac (sorry for that)
*booted in Safe Mode - tried the same things there
         *unmounted Boot camp
*deleted all cache, property and cookie files
*unpacked the 10.6.6 combo package and used the commerce framework from there, and the App Store too
         *pulled my hair
         *and so on...
    Nothing helped!
PLEASE tell me how can I start the Mac App Store again!!?
    Thank you!!
    Artur

Since you have Lion installed, use Lion Recovery

  • IBooks, Maps and App Store does not open after Mavericks installation

I'm having troubles after I update to Mavericks, iBooks, Maps and App Store doesn't open, I can't check for updates or anything. How can I reinstall Mavericks or how can I solve the proble.
    Thanks for your help!!

Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down) and use Disk Image to repair disk permissions and the disk itself.  Reboot and try again.
To reinstall the system boot again into the Recovery volume and use the install system option. That will reinstall only the system.

    (a) applying 'specialized softwares' to uninstall is not a good idea. Each time somebody report a problem after using such tool the first thing to do is to ask the user to uninstall correctly.
To do that, months ago, I delivered a FREE script.
Go to my iDisk (address below) and download :
    For_iWork:iWork '09:uninstall iWork '09.zip
    (b) what are you meaning by "b) reinstalling ? Did you reinstalled from a copy kept on some local media or did you re-installed from the MAS.  If you used a copy kept on a local media, maybe it's not the late version (Numbers v 2.1, Pages v 4.1)
    (e) as in (a) you wrote that you bought from the MAS, moving the apps in a subfolder Applications:iWork '09 wasn't a good idea. Doing that is required when we bought the old-fashioned iWork package. The apps bought from the MAS are supposed to be stored in the Applications folder.
I would not be too much surprised to learn that the apps build a pathname starting from Applications to reach the frameworks which are now embedded in their own package.
I apologize but I have no plan to buy one of these apps from the MAS, just to be able to check that.
    (f) was unneeded. On my machine I have iWork '06, iWork '08 and iWork '09 installed.
    (g) if you reinstalled from a local copy, maybe this one is corrupted.
I read nothing in your message about the removal of the iWork fonts cache.
This one was the source of some reported failure.
    It's located as :
    <startupVolume>:Users:<userAccount>:Library:Caches:com.apple.iWork.fonts
    Removing it can't hurt.

  • Downloaded software from App Store crashes on launch

I downloaded a trial version of a sofware program (Pixelator). After installing and using it to make sure it met my needs, I purchased it from the App Store. App Store downloaded another copy of the software then tried to launch it. Now the software won't start; it crashes when launching. The App Store lists the software as "Installed". How do I get this software (and App Store) to work?

Thank you Carolyn, unfortunately it still crashed:
