  • Yosemite app store damaged or incomplete

    Hi,
My app store package content folder is no longer in the app.
When trying to open the app store I get an error message saying that the app store is damaged or incomplete.
I am running osx yosemite 10.10.1
Alternatively, is there a way I can download osx Yosemite to do a clean install without access to my app store?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

After installing the 10.10.1 update the issue is fixed.

  • App store damaged or incomplete?

I've been scouring the internet for the answer to this. I'm running 10.6.8 and i've updated to the combo pack. I've virtually tried everthing and I can't access the app store. Its in my applications folder with a circle and slash through it. Please Help!!!! Its sucking my life away.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I know this has been asked numerous times on these boards but i've yet to find the solution that works for me. Surely someone else has had the same dilema.

  • Error message after 10.8.2 Install: SpeechSynthesis.app is damaged or incomplete. What should I do about this?

I installed 10.8.2 and it seem to go well except at end an error message reading 'Error SpeechSynthesisServer.app damaged or incomplete'. What should I do about this and what apps would be impacted?

Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
    codesign -vv /S*/*/*/A*/*/A/*/S*/*/A/S*S*S*
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste (command-V) into the Terminal window.
Post any lines of output that appear below what you entered — the text, please, not a screenshot.

  • When i launch the app store it says "app store corrupt or incomplete" how do i fix this?

    Please help.

If your profile of 10.6.8 is correct, down load and apply the Combo updater.
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1  and follow with a software update to pick up the most recent security updates.    This will reinstall App Store.
Be aware, it will take some time.

I am having the exact same problem.  MacForums has been helping me, and I called Apple.  After trying everyone's suggestions, and Apple's, no success.
My App Store app still says "incomplete or damaged."  There is even a circle with a line through it on the icon.  Apple said reinstall my Snow Leopard upgrade disc (not my original Leopard disc) and then run the Combo Update (like your suggestion).  Did not work.  I also updated the software from "Software Update".  Rebooted.
I think this started after I replaced my hard drive with a SSD and moved the hard drive to where the DVD was.  I wonder if the person above who had the same problem also installed a SSD?
Anyway, anymore ideas?  Even Apple is stumped.
(In answer to the other post above, my Quicktime works fine.)

Just did some more reading.  I was going by the icon in the dock.  When I checked in Finder, there it was, fixed and brand new!!  Thanks, anyway.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

  • App Store is "Damaged or Incomplete"? Running on v.10.8.2

I cannot open App Store because it is "damaged or incomplete". I've tried a few of the combo updates, but they say I need an earlier version to run... help?

First thing to try is to open up System Preferences -> Security and Privacy and set the allowed apps to Everywhere. This probably isn't the problem but its worth a shot.
If this doesn't work, you can also try repairing your disk permissions, by clicking Spotlight -> Disk Utility. You can then select Macintosh HD, and choose Repair Disk Permissions. Again, this probably isn't your problem but it won't hurt to try.
The last thing you can do is re-install OS X ontop of your current installation. This shouldn't delete any of your data (though you may want to make a backup first). You can do this by shutting down the computer, and holding Command+R when you start it up (at the chime). You will boot up into the recovery partition, where you will have the option to install OS X. Again, this shouldn't delete data.

  • My app store file is damaged/incomplete

    This is incredibly frustrating.
I'm not that attentive to the new innovations that Apple provides in the software updates, but I found out today, in attempting to upgrade my OS to Yosemite that I was supposed to have received the Mac App Store in previous software updates. I'm running 10.6.8, and my software update is telling me there are no further updates as my computer is all up to date.
But I don't have the Mac App Store anywhere on my computer. In searching my applications, I find one titled "App Store" with a blank application icon with a NO sign overtop (as in the same logo that goes over a cigarette for NO SMOKING" signs.) When I click on this it says, "You can't open the application App Store because it may be damaged or incomplete."
I'm trying to upgrade my OS so I can get the new version of Itunes so I can restore my ipod so I can listen to music. Every single step in trying to reach that end has been a pitfall and this is one of the most frustrating. I'm ready to upgrade, I've backed up my computer, and now I can't even download the OS upgrade... Nobody else seems to have experienced this.  Somebody PLEASE HELP ME.

    Hello,
Thanks for your response. I got rid of that item, and deleted it out of my trash can. I've downloaded that DMG you linked, and when I attempt to open it it says it cannot be opened because it is not recognized.
Seriously. What the **** is going on?
