App Store does not allow me to choose different Apple ID to sign in
I have an iMac that is connected to a network, and has different accounts. My account has admin rights and I am able to manage the computer settings, but for some reason when I open the App store window, and when I am trying to download some updates, it prompts me to enter my apple ID and password. The problem is that the Apple ID of the account that was used to set up this computer appears prepopulated, and there is no where to change an account or reenter the correct Apple ID.
I deleted the apple ID record from the account that contains the apple ID that appears in the App store page, but it continues to appear when it asks me to sign in.

I've been using App Store for my iPhone and iPad for several months to download useful applications.
She already has a formal account, otherwise she could not be downloading free apps.
The link that you provide only works if one creates a new Apple ID. She would then have two Apple IDs*, two "formal" accounts and content associated with both accounts. This is likely not a good suggestion if one wishes not to have a very confusing situation in the future.
*She would also have to have a spare email address as her primary address may already be tied up with the first formal Apple ID and account.

I had the same problem on a MacBook Air that ships with Lion
This is how you fix it
0. Close Every App (Safari, iTunes, AppStore, etc)
1. Launch Finder
2. Press CMD+SHIFT+G (or click on Go then Go To Folder)
3. Type the following /var/folders
4. Open up Console (Spotlight Console and launch it)
5. Open The AppStore
6. Try to buy something free and you will see this message "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
7. Switch to Console and look at the error message

In my case the problem was some file in the /var/folders/3p
5. Quit AppStore
6. I deleted the entire 3p folder (it gets recreated when you launch AppStore). If you really want to be safe, create a copy of that folder.
You don't need to restart. Just Launch AppStore and it works! -
Mac app store does not accept my apple password
The Mac App store does not accept my password for my apple ID. A red line appears that says "an unknown error has occured." The ID and Password are being typed in correctly, I am 100% sure of that. Credit card is up to date. Itunes is working fine and logged in to Apple ID. Ipad and Iphone are logged in, working fine. Have not installed Maverick, still using Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. I was going to update to Mavrick, but not sure I should with all the negative reviews and now this problem. Please help, thanks!

And if you have anti virus software installed, disable that before trying to access the App Store.
If you have Litlte Snich installed, that can prevent access to the App Store.
Keep in mind, you can't update your existing apps from another Apple ID if you create a new account. -

following hard drive failure on iMac running Maverick I have recovered from TimeMachine backup but now app store does not connect. All other internet connections normal. Does anyone know of a fix?

App store does not 'see' Aperture (no update)
After updating to Mavericks, the App Store does not recognize Aperture as an installed/bought app.
Updates from 3.2 up to and including 3.4.5 have worked flawlessly. Now the App Store update page tells me there are no updates for Aperture while I'm stuck at version 3.4.5.
In the System Information app, under 'Installations', there's an Aperture Update entry dating 30 October 2013 but without a version number. Could this be a botched update which is blocking further updates? If so, how can I purge it?

GusOn another discussion thread, I found the "solution" to the problem. Changing the system language to English magically solves the issue and now Aperture is at version 3.5.

My app store does not load the featured apps. The screen remains empty everytime I open it.
Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

I can not open aperture databases anymore as osx10.9 keeps telling me i have opened it with a newer version, which i have not but i understand from other discussions that thru the upgrade of iphoto osx automatically thinks that you have opened with aperture 3.5. the app store does not show me the update as i have not purchased the program thru the app store but on dvd. what to do?
If you are running MacOS X 10.9 and Aperture is installed in your Applications folder and simply called Aperture, not Apertre 3 or something, the AppStore should be showing you the update.
Have you already updated to Aperture 3.4.5 from the Support page Aperture 3.4.5?
Try to update manually to 3.4.5 and then reboot and sign again into the AppStore with your AppleID and look at the Update page.
For some forum members it helped to set the main system language to English U.S. to make the update finally show.

App Store does not accept PayPal in all countries. The acceptable methods of payment for your country can be seen on your Account Information screen - and by editing your payment information.
