App Store Gone

I have been trying relentlessly to find and install App Store on my Mac since I discovered its disappearance yesterday. I have scoured the forums here and tried the update recommendations multiple times, to no avail. I want to update to Lion but without App Store I am stuck. Does anyone have a recommendation for me? Is there something I am missing? Is anyone having this same problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Click your Apple menu icon top left in your scree.
Click: App Store
Just to make sure, you checked the Applications folder?
Try Recent Items from the Apple menu also.
If nothing helped, install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1

I just upgraded my 32 gb 3rd Generation itouch to the new iOS 5, and when i started it back up after the process my safari, itunes store, and app store icons are gone! am i just being stupid and overlooking something, or do i need to take action here?

I'm asking for my mother in law: she somehow deleted the app store icon on her Ipad Mini.

App Store is native and can not be deleted, but it can be turned off.
Go to Settings > General > Restrictions and see if it's been turned off

App store gone after fresh install

Hi,
i reinstalled my Imac 27 after HDD upgrade with Snow Leopard and did all the updates.
But the App store is missing. In the menu i can click on Mac OSX Software thats points to the apple website.
In programs i have the app store program but with the standard icon ( not the appstore icon). When i click it nothing happens.
Manual Combo update gives me an error ? Any ideas?

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

FWIW, I just got off the phone with Apple technical support about this. I use Genuis for creating playlists, so I don't want to disable it, but Apple support confirmed that there is no way to avoid syncing Genius data without disabling Genius altogether. I'd read somewhere else that subscribing to iTunes Match might allow you to avoid this, but that is NOT the case, as I've confirmed, and Apple support has confirmed. For me, it routinely syncs thousands genius of items, so I have to allow a lot of time for my manual syncs.

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the Swiss iTunes Store.
The issue is that your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

Cannot connect to itunes or app store after updating 5s to iOS 8.1.1 - have already gone through troubleshooting.

Hi there,
I'm super late in updating the iOS on my phone because I heard people were having so many problems with this one. I updated today and low and behold - issue. In order to make room for this update I reset my phone and erased all content - then preformed the update to iOS 8.1.1. This is done and I logged back in and started to set it up again.
However, now I can't connect to either itunes or the app store. I've already been on apple.com and gone through the troubleshooting section there. Meaning:
- My date and time are correct.
I've turned off automatic setting, made sure it was correct and turned it back on as a second step.
- Obviously it's updated to the current 8.1.1
- I'm unable to connect either on LTE or when connected to Wifi however, my computer connects to wifi and can get to itunes.
Even though I am connect to wifi - data is turned on for both itunes and app store.
- Restrictions are off
I have fully closed the apps and restarted my phone after taking the above steps but still no luck. I don't get a specific error number only "Cannot Connect to itunes".
Any ideas with this one?

I had the exact same issue. try log out of the App Store in Settings. Then make sure to close all apps running, and log in again. worked for me. Good luck!

TS1702 I upgraded my iPad 2 to ios6 & now certain apps (YouTube ) are gone & are not listed in the App Store. Another app (ny1 news) no longer works! Again it's not listed in the App Store. How do you correct this problem?

I found the following in the Macbook Help, and the last bullet worked for me.
"You can uninstall apps you got from the Mac App Store, from other websites, or from discs. You can’t uninstall apps that are part of OS X, such as Safari and Mail.
Apps downloaded from the Mac App Store: Click the Launchpad icon in the Dock, hold down an app’s icon until all the icons begin to jiggle, then click an app’s delete button . If you later want the app, you can reinstall it from the Mac App Store.If an icon doesn’t have a delete button, it can’t be uninstalled in Launchpad. For more information about Launchpad, see Use Launchpad to view and open apps.
Apps that have an uninstaller: In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. If an app is inside a folder, it might have an Uninstaller. Open the app’s folder. If you see Uninstall [App] or [App] Uninstaller, double-click it and follow the onscreen instructions.
Apps that don’t have an uninstaller: In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. Drag the app from the Applications folder to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock), then choose Finder > Empty Trash.If you change your mind, before emptying the Trash, select the app in the Trash, then choose File > Put Back.WARNING: When you empty the Trash, the app is permanently removed from your Mac. All my apps I downloaded a few a go were gone in my purchased items in the app store, what happened?

When I checked my app store recent purchases, all my apps were gone except for the very recent purchases. Even my apps I got from the itunes 5 year anniversery were gone but the apps were still in the itunes library. Also my ipad can't sync it, it says there's a problem. Pls. help.

It appears as though you have a couple of different issues going on here. For the App Store problem and for the syncing issue as well, start with this. Close all apps on the iPad, reboot the device. Then quit iTunes on your computer, reboot your computer.
After you close all apps and reboot the iPad, go back to the App Store and see if the apps show up.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If the apps did not appear in the App Store, try syncing again - after you have quit iTunes and rebooted the computer. Please post any error messages that you get, if you get any at all.
