"App Store" got corrupted.  How can I reinstall w/o disk?

I am using OSX 10.6.8 in a MAC Pro desktop.  I want to use the Cloud to sync my desktop calendar with my iPhone 5 calendar.  When opening up preferences, iCloud is not among the "Internet & Wireless" options.  I went into my Applications folder, looking for the App Store application, thinking I could get the application and reinstall the Cloud option.  It was there, but a window came up saying: "You can't open the application App Store because it may be damaged or incomplete."   So, what would I need to do?  Your time in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.  P.S. I don't have the actual disk for this version to reinstall.  If I upgrade to OSX Yosemite, I'm afraid I'll have to upgrade all my main applications to be compatible, at a phenomenal cost.

Install over the top of your system and see if that solves the issue.

    Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
    If you have a PPC Mac you cannot sync your idevice without a newer computer.  See the end of this post for options.
    If it says you have an Intel Mac you can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but check system requirements first:

    After installing run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.

    Options if you cannot upgrade:  iTunes Store purchases can already be downloaded directly. Use iTunes Match to put non-Store music in iCloud, then download to your device from there.  Backup your device directly to  iCloud over a wireless connection.  Photos can be downloaded from the Camera Roll using iPhoto or Image Capture.

    If you change your Apple ID you will need to sign in with the new information or password the next time you use an Apple service or feature that uses Apple ID. If you have multiple devices that use features and services that require an Apple ID, you will need to sign in again on each device.

    Thanks that helped me get it back in my list! I have also just found out that software can be re-downloaded (for example Lion is no longer formally available in the App Store) by clicking on the "purchased" button while holding down "alt". This worked for my Lion software today.

    Swipe from screen to screen to look for it.
    Check Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that you didn't disable it.
    You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.

  • I changed my Appleid online yesterday because the old one was based on an email address that is no longer active. My phone still shows the old Appleid and will not let me access APP store etc. How can I get the phone to accept the new ID?

    I channged my Appleid at appleid.com and now the phone stills shows my old id and will not let apps that require id/password prompts work.

    Just scroll to the bottom of the screen in the store, log out and then login with the new ID.
    As long as you changed it from the manage account option at https://appleid.apple.com/ (ie. replaced the primary email address with a new one), then all your old purchases should be fine.

  • Bootcamp corrupt , how can I reinstall?

    I was going to use bootcamp to copy a windows ISO image to a USB stick and read that I can modify the Plist file under Bootcamp by removing the "Pre" infront of the USB section in the Plist.
    Now Bootcamp will not restart.

    Forcing a USB to be created from BC Assistant leads to errors further when you get black screens or no bootable device errors. This is a bad road to travel.

    all you have to do is connect your ( ipad/iphone ) using the cable and start the itunes from your mac and it will start sync with your ( ipad/iphone ) then enter[ the setting >general>itunes wifi sync ] and verify it with your mac
    FROM THE ITUNES OF THE MAC do the following :
    1 : search for your [ipad/iphone] in the device section at the right if you found it that means the sync is completed
    2 : if you want to download an app from the app store .....use the ~ itunes store~ located on the top right

    How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
    Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
    Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
    Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
    Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
