APP store information

Hello, sorry for posting in this section but i dont konw where to ask about this topic. Looking in the different app stores i saw there are some apps that aren´t avaible in some countries. For example in Costa Rica app store miss some apps that are avaible in other countries such as USA, El Salvador.
So my question is why this situation happens and if this apps have a chance to be added to my local app store in the future. Thanks sorry for troubling

I don't believe that the app will know anything about the App Store, when it was bought, etc. But if you're looking for a unique identifier, there is a uniqueIdentifier property in UIDevice. That is guaranteed to be unique, and works well as a key in a DB to store information about when the client last downloaded data, etc. It's also rather likely that this will be how you address phones through the coming push service.

  • A friend of my daughter's used my mac when she got her new iphone.  Now I have a new iphone and my phone has her app store information on it and I don't know how to get it off and put mine in there!

A friend of my daughter's used my mac computer when she got her new iphone to help set it up.  Now that I have a new iphone, her apps and all the app store information is stuck on my phone.  Her app account keeps showing up when I try to install something new, and I obviously do not have her password.  How do I get this off my phone??

Open iTunes on the computer.  Without any iPhone plugged in, go to iTunes' menu and do Store > Sign Out.
The click the iTunes Store row on the left of the iTunes display.  You can then sign on from the signon row on the right side of the display using the correct Apple ID and password.  Then you'll be all set!

  • How do I remove my App store information from a Mac about to be sold

How do I remove my App Store information from
a Mac about to be sold ?

Before you sell or give away your computer, in addition to the steps mentioned in this support article, take these steps:
Run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test. The buyer will do this (or he should), and you don't want to be surprised by the results.
Reset the PRAM and the SMC, which might contain personal information.
If you set a firmware password, remove it by running Firmware Password Utility in Recovery mode.
If you activated FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, turn it off.
If you use Boot Camp, the partition must be deleted.
If you created any other data partitions on the internal drive, remove them in Disk Utility.
Erase the data partition(s) with the option to zero out data. An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You can't legally or practically transfer any software downloaded from the Mac App Store to the new owner of the machine, even if it was free. That includes OS X, so if you upgraded to OS X 10.7 or later, you must reinstall an older OS, either from the installation media, if applicable, or by starting up in Internet Recovery mode (option-command-R at the startup chime.) If you installed from physical media, deliver those to the new owner.
If you're selling the machine, or donating it in working order, and it originally shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, then you have the option of installing either from the discs that came with it or from a retail Snow Leopard disc (which you must then transfer with the machine.) The buyer should understand that if he doesn't get the original discs from you, he won't get the bundled iLife applications or the Apple Hardware Test. Replacements for the original discs can be ordered from Apple.
The new owner will have to redownload any software that came from the App Store, including OS X upgrades, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer those either.
Remove the machine from your list of registered products. If it's still covered by an AppleCare Protection Plan, transfer the coverage to the new owner by following the instructions in the AppleCare Terms and Conditions (under the heading "Transfer of Plan.")

  • App Store information available to apps?

Is there anything that an application bought from the App Store will know about itself? For example:
    - Date of purchase?
    - Unique identifier to distinguish this copy of the application from other copies bought by other people?
Since the App Store doesn't exist yet, it is possible that there is no answer to this question. On the other hand, there may just be a document hanging around somewhere that I haven't found a link to - or someone in this forum may have heard something...

  • All App Store downloads repeatedly failing after upgrade to 10.8

Every time I attempt to download a new app or update a currently installed app on my retina macbook pro the downloads fail in one of two ways.
    1) The download skips from Zero KB to Installed and then back to Zero KB in a un-ending loop.
    2) One of my downloads reaches 10.25MB and then goes back to Zero KB and retries to download it 2-3 times until the App Store informs me an error has occured.
I've deleted the downloads from finder (both from the applications folder and from "private/var/folders/... /C/com.apple.appstore/-random number-/") , canceled the downloads in the app store, restarted the app store, restarted the macbook and several combinations of these troubleshooting options.
Can anyone help me resolve this problem?  The nearest genius bar is quite far from where I live.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
The crashes are due to font issues of some kind:
    Thread 0 Crashed:
    0 ...ple.CoreServices.CarbonCore 0x90b96064 TSAcquireReader + 28
    1 ATS 0x902bc198 ATSFontFamilyGetEncoding + 40
Does either application work from a different user account? You can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+|-\] to add/remove extra accounts.
If they do work fine in the other account, look in /Users/YourUsualUsername/Library/Fonts/ and remove any fonts you have added recently.
Failing that try FontBook to resolve any duplicate fonts and use FontFinagler (Google for it) to remove potentially corrupt font caches.

  • Can't download 10.8 mountain lion from app store

    Hi,
I own a 2008 mac pro. The system drive was still running an original install of osx (upgraded to the latest version of 10.8). It had become pretty slow, so I bought a new ssd for a fresh install of the os.
I own 10.6 on dvd, which I have used previously on another computer to acomplish the exact same thing I'm trying to do here; install 10.6 on a new drive, then upgrade to 10.8 (the only way I know how to do this).
So I did the usual - new drive in, old drive out, install 10.6, update 10.6 until the "app store" becomes available. So I'm now running 10.6.8. I open the app store, log in, go to "my purchases" and see osx mountain lion sitting in the list. It says I purchased it on the 12th of November, 2012, which is correct. If I click on "osx mountain lion", the app store informs me that "Item not available. The item you've requested is not currently available in the UK store". I bought the "item". I paid good money Apple. Why can't I download this? If I click "download" a little spinny thing appears for a couple of seconds next to the back/forward arrows, then disappears.
10.9 is unsupported with the software I use - everyone's reporting faults, so I need 10.8. Can someone help? Obviously I can just put the old drive back in, but this NEEDS to be available somehow...?
    Thanks

    That's good to hear.
After some mucking about I managed to get it downloading on another computer (which is already running 10.8). Hopefully I should be able to copy it over and install.
But I will let Apple know - potentially pretty disasterous for people.
    Thanks.

  • App Store error when updating

App Store informs me that there is an update for iPhoto. When I try to update I receive an error message "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13)

Quit the App Store if it's open then open the Finder.
From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy / paste:   ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go then move the  com.apple.appstore.plist   file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch the App Store.
If that doesn't help, type or copy / paste:   ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go the move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
    Try the App Store.

  • InfiniteSMS app or similar available on Mac App store?

I'm getting rid of my iPad possibly and switching to a MacBook Air. I like the convience of the InfiniteSMS app and would not want to lose that. Is something similar or same app available through the Mac App Store?
I'm at work and cannot pull up the app store information.
    Thanks in advance!

I just called the number PDilla gave; they took my credit card info, and will send a download code and instructions later.  I was a little surprised it wasn't immediate, but I'll report back when I get the mail (or when I don't :-) ).
Apple hardware runs a long time (this is an early 2008 Macbook); you'd think they'd keep software such as Lion available for those of us that have hardware that cannot upgrade to Mountain Lion.
Update: In the time since I began typing the info, above I have received an acknowledgement of the order.  The email implies that it will be a physical shipment, but the Apple store representative said it would be a code for download.  It has not yet shown up in the Purchases section of the Appstore.

  • Mac app store will not update my apps

I try repeatedly to update aperture to 3.x.x and the app store keeps saying there has been an error and try again later ... for about 2 months!

    Thanks for your response ...
Aperture was purchased from app store. Was updated to 3.2.1 and again to 3.2.3 but will not update to 3.3
I get an ' error at app store, can not update at this time (13)'
Just wondering if it's on my end or something at the app store.
Why would the app store inform me of the update but not let me get it?
    Best regards, T.

  • An error in App store for redeeming

    Hi,
I've got redeemable gifts (pages, keynote, and numbers) for my iPad but when I redeem each of them (just clicked "Redeem Now" in email) it says " This code is only valid for customers of the Stores" without any country app store information. The sender lives in USA and So am I. What's the problem? Can anybody can help this out??

There have been a few other reports of this today. Contact iTunes support:

  • Yosemite-App Store repeating downloads

After upgrading to Yosemite on Mac Pro and MacBook Pro, they both show unusual behavior in the App Store.  After upgrading 'Pages' and 'Numbers', the App Store informs me I need to update them, even though it shows below that I have updated them just hours before.  I even tried updating them for a second time and later the App Store tells me an update is available.  Any sugestions?

I solved problem. Apparently there were folders on my hard drives with old versions of iWork 09 that I had not deleted and the app store was finding them even though I had the most current version in the Applications folder.

  • The App Store asks to "verify" my personal information, For my name, state, credit card, etc. I don't even live in the US and I don't have a CC, nor do I want to give away my personal information. I just want to download free apps. Any work-arounds?

    Title says it all.
I'm really getting sick of websites getting more and more into your business. Google forcing you to get a G+ account and asking for your identifying information, for example (like your phone number).
It's extremely irritating, and I'm opting out of everything that enforces the such. If Apple begins pushing like this, I will just close my relationship with the company and obtain apps by using third-party software to force them onto the phone.
But before going that far, I'd like to find work arounds.
First of all, I don't even know why it asks me for my "state". I don't even live in the USA anymore, as I moved to China (though I won't use the Chinese store as I don't speak or understand the local language, which is Chinese).
All I want... is to continue using the English App Store to get free apps from here in my home in China, without getting stopped by Apple asking for more info on me. I don't want to share my name, I don't want to share my address, and I can't even complete the form as I no longer have a "state" and don't have any credit info.
So that's just that. If there's no way around it I'll find another way to install apps without the App Store.
Sorry for the message tone, I'm just really irritated with the way the internet is getting.
    Thanks in advance!

The living issue is complex in my case. Legally speaking, I have no personal residence globally. I just live wherever my father goes, which is everywhere. I'm an expat and it seems that these sites aren't really expat-friendly. They seem to be built for localization and assume everyone stays in the same place.
I don't know what I'd be considered. I'm a US passport holder and live in China, but I only speak some Chinese and I can't read it (it using non-latin characters is just too much for my mind's memory to handle). Besides that, I'm not interested in popular Chinese apps. They tend to just be annoying and kooky and generic and put together badly, often full adware and spyware (speaking for most Chinese software, in fact). In fact, a lot of apps I want are illegal in China (YouTube, Facebook, etc) and I use a VPN to use the services. I assume I wouldn't find these apps on the Chinese store. In fact, last I checked, there wasn't many English apps on the Chinese app store. This is probably due to their strict moderation or something.
I've been going to international schools since I got here and college would be in English too. I can speak some Chinese, but not read it.
Well, I guess the answer is that I can't use the App Store in English. So I guess I'll just sign out everything on my phone involving my Apple account and just start using third-party tools to do my business.

  • I bought a MBPro which came with Lion installed,i also wanted to have a copy of installation disc so i used mac app store.Normally if an app is already bought there is a warning or a sign that informs the buyer.I've charged for this download is it normal?

Hi ,i bought a MacBookPro which came with Lion installed on it (i have registered my mac book pro right after i bought it), i also wanted to have a copy of the installation disc in case of a crash, so i used mac app store to get it.Normally if an app is already bought (for iphone app store) there is a warning or a sign that informs the buyer, than the app store lets the buyer to re-download/re-install the app.I've charged for this download afterwards, because i was using virtual credit card, there was not enough money transferred to that card during that download but the app store let me download it anyway. I haven't charged before the download, the app store first let me to download it then it requested that amount of money for next download wich it was a free app. Can anybody enlight me? thanks

    Hi ...
i also wanted to have a copy of the installation disc in case of a crash
If you have problems with your Mac you use Lion Recovery
However, you can create your own installation disc >  How to create an OS X Lion installation disc | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews
Since Lion came pre installed on your Mac, the App Store doesn't not recognize that as a purchase so you if you want to re download Lion to create a boot disk you will have to pay for it. You can then re download Lion on all your authorized Macs for free.
