App Store is just a blank page

I open the iTunes store, the music store loads fine, so do all the other stores except the app store -- I get a blank screen. No error code, no pop up, just a blank space where the App Store should be. If I look up an app in my Firefox browser, I can hit the "view in iTunes link" and see the app in iTunes and even download it. If I click on the category the app is in (like "Games"), I get a blank screen again. I'm running Win 7 home premium 64 bit, my DSL is running fine, otherwise (surfing, Spotify, YouTube, Netflix...).
Anyone else having the same problem? Apple tells me it's not on their end. Should I reinstall iTunes?

I have verified that the iTunes Store is functioning and accepting connections, which indicates that the issue is related to your internet connection, local network, or your local computer itself."
Have you tried contacting support?

Force close the App Store app and reset the iPad. No data will be lost when you reset the device.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

There are a lot of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them.

Swipe through your screens and swipe to the left of your Home screen. Type in App Store in the search field. It's a permanent pre installed Apple app so it can't be deleted.
If you can't locate it on the iPad for some reason, connect the device to your computer. Right or control click the iPad under Devices left side of the iTunes window then click: Restore from backup

Can I install an app from the mac app store on just my login?

I'd like to download apps from the mac app store to just my login and NOT have them installed on other users logins. how can I do this?

In your Mac, you have two Applications folder: /Applications, and ~/Applications.
The first one is the used by default and it stores the applications that are going to be used by all users. The second one is stored in your user folder (~ refers to the user folder), and you have to put the apps you only want to use yourself in this app.
First, open Finder, select Applications folder in the sidebar and copy all the apps you want, selecting them with Command key and then, pressing Command and C keys. After that, select Go menu > Go to Folder, type ~/Applications, and press Command and V keys there to paste your applications.
Finally, go back to /Applications and delete the copied apps, so only you will be able to access to those applications

I restarted in safe mode. I opened the firefox and it did not show not responding. However I was unable to connect to the internet in safe mode, so I don't know if it is a system driver yet or not. How do I start in safe mode and be able to connect to my wireless router? If it does turn out to be a system driver or something, how do I figure out which one it is? If restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod dow not solve the problem you likely have a hardware problem. In that case either make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare. If defective, Apple will replace your iPod at no cost.
