  • HT4623 My apps are stalled during updates after installing IO6 on my IPhone 4

Since I downloaded IO6 on my Iphone4 last week, many apps showed updates and when I tried to download them, the Iphone shows installing, but this has been about 1 week and the apps are not usable.

Yeah, that's weird. I updated to IOS 6 and had around 8 apps that needed to be updated. I started the update (with the phone plugged in), and it did take awhile, but eventually a group updated. Then there were, I think 3 left that still needed to be updated, so I did an Update All on those, and they updated.
Afterward, my Apps Store icon still showed that I had 7 apps that needed to be updated (irritating), but when I clicked on the update option in the Apps app, the little red button disappeared, and everything was done.
I hope it clears up for you soon....One other option would be to download them to your computer and then to sync your phone with it. Might at least get this batch out of the way....
    Cheers,

  • App store seems very slow

App store seems very slow on my MacBook Pro.  If I turn off Keychain->Preferences->Certificates->CRL then it runs normally, but leaving this off might be a bad idea for security reasons.  Is there a better solution?

If you have any third (application enhancers) apps such as Little Snitch or anti virus software installed, that could be why the App Store runs slow for you.

Hmmmm... would appear that you need to be actually logged in to enable the additional menu features.

Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) Repair Disk Permissions 2x. Then restart in Safe Mode and try both apps. Restart normally and post results.

    Fixing a Mavericks Installation Problem
How to manage a failed OS X Mavericks installation | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews.
    Try these in order:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • My macbook pro is very slow after installing mountain lion

my macbook pro is very slow after installing mountain lion?  Is anyone else having this issue?

If you don't use an SSD and bump your RAM up to 8 Gb's you may experience slow speeds, but I noticed slow speeds with your general configuration in SL.
one thing you should consider right now is, Spotlight is Reindexing your hard drive, that takes time and resources, (resources which you don't necessarily have to spare).
If you continue feeling like your performance is slow, you have a few options with this computer (I have the same one).
the express card slot can house a wintec SSD drive. That little door on the side of your machine is pure gold for a really quick solution for speeding up your machine. I have one in mine right now i'm using as a scratch disk for CS6 but I used to boot from it, and the speed boost was out of this world.
You could take out the internal HDD and put in a new SSD (I have a Vertex 4 from OCZ) it is completely over kill but my experience is pretty fast and I keep up with the later MBP models colleagues have.
There are some other options for you like taking out the optical drive (however I don't know if I'm supposed to talk about that here). Google Data Doubler.
You need to also set it to always use the 9600 chipset, this will increase performance a lot too. to do this go to system preferences>energy saver>Better Performance. This switches the video card to the better one and makes a world of difference.
Lastly, your RAM. after an EFI Firmware update, our computer support up to 8GBs of RAM. Do it!

  • App store loading VERY slow or not at all

Hello.. I hope someone here can help me. Since i upgraded to ios 4 i have been having problems with the app store. It either takes 5 to 15 mins to load then another 5 to 15 mins to update or download an app or it doesn't load at all and kicks me back out to the main screen. seems to be only happening with app store. I have updated to the newest ios, done the soft reset, restored it in iTunes, changed my dns server and just about everything else i can think of as well as everything i have found on the internet. Any1 else having this problem or heard of it ? Or any1 know how i can fix it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I was using iOS 4.1 on my iP4 since last Oct., apart from the sporatic wifi connectivity issue, all was well.  The wifi issue kept persisting and nothing I did fixed it (did all the standard troubleshooting...again).  Apple Care said I had to update to (at the time) 4.3.3 before they could help me.  So I did, didn't help any, but I also noticed how certain things I did was lagging. ie. flipping through the screens, launching and quitting of apps, and yes, accessing the App Store.  Everything was taking about 3-4 second longer.  .  Apple Genius noticed the connection issue as well as the lags, so gave me a new iPhone 4 with 4.3.3.  Lags are still there, and App Store is very slow.
As the OP mentioned, it would take forever to just load up pages, when you go to update your apps, you hit Update All, it looks like your phone just froze on you.  You can't do anything but hit the home key and go out of the App, and try again, but you still run into the same issue.  But if you leave it for about 30-40 sec, it will eventually continue.  Or boot you out of the App Store and you have to start all over again.  Been like this since June, everytime I go to the App Store.  Could be first thing in the morning to 3am, makes no difference what time you go on, it always lags.  Does it both on wifi and 3G.  Note though, accessing the internet on the iPhone isn't laggy.  I would have thought about updating to 4.3.5, but heard that didn't resolve anything.  And since iOS 5 is around the corner as with the iPhone 5, I'm just grinning and bearing.  As what a lot of iPhone users have been doing as of late.  I really do hope that the transition to iOS 5 goes much, much smoother than it did for iOS 4.

  • The App Store is very slow

Ever since I first started the App Store, I have been perturbed and annoyed by how slow it is. It takes a full 1 minute and 50 seconds to load! This is entirely down to the Featured page. Clicking on any of the top buttons, and then returning to Featured takes more than a minute and a half.
Now, my iMac is less than a year old, my internet connection is through a cable modem at 10MB and I have the latest version of Mac OS: 10.6.7. These days, having to wait nearly two minutes for a program to show it's front screen, and then spending ten minutes or more just looking at a few options is ridiculous.
I've used Apple computers since the II+, and I am disappointed in this program. The concept of the App Store is excellent, and I am delighted that I can buy iPhoto or Numbers as single purchases. Why should the App Store be so slow? iTunes takes only 10 seconds to load!

    HI David,
If you haven't done so lately, you might want to make sure check the startup disk in case it needs repairing. From your admin account launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities). Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left then select the FirstAid tab. Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions). If the disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to Verify and Repair Disks
While you have the Disk Utility window open, check Capacity and Available at the bottom of the window. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
If the startup disk is ok, and there's plenty of free disk space, install the v10.6.7 combo update available here. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.7. Make sure and restart your Mac after the updates are installed. Then try the Mac App store.
Check for Login Items. That may be slowing the system down a bit. Open System Preferences/Accounts then select the Login Items tab. Delete any files or apps you have listed there. And go to /Library/Startup Items. Move any files in the Startup Items folder to the Trash.

  • Boot very slow after installed Yosemite

I have a Macbook air from October 2013. I have successfully upgraded to Yosemite yesterday from the App store, but the problem begins after that. It boots very slow, sometimes even halt. How can I fix the issue? Thanks.

Not sure if this may solve your problem, but I've come across this on one of the Macs here.
Open the disk utility, verify & repair disk permissions, verify & repair the disk if needed.
Restart the mac, hold down Option-Command-P-R to reset the PRAM. It should reboot again.
This helped the bad mac, and we appear to be back to normal.
On my other mac, I go from cold to logged-in within about 12 seconds (I run an SSD).

  • Bridge is very slow after installing Photoshop CC

I just installed Photoshop CC last night and today Bridge is VERY slow. Every folder I open even if I opened it yesterday has to build some kind of an index.
Also it keeps crashing it never crashed before.

Yes I understand that my point is it only started to do this after I installed Photoshop CC. I have been using bridge CS6 for 3 months and it has never been this slow or crash. IT crashed 5 times today.
Note if you are using the Creeative cloud you may not know this but every 3 months you will have to log in and re accept all the licenses for all the products you open and want to run again, every 3 months. I just learned that today as well.

  • IPad 1 got very slow after installing ios5

After I have installed ios5 my iPad 1 got very slow. I press the settings button and wait for 5 seconds to appear.
    Any ideas?

First, we need to accept that the iPad will be slower under iOS5 than iOS4.  This is a standard situation, caused by each iOS upgrade being optimized for the newest iDevices – which have much faster processors.  (You should see how slow an iPhone 3G is under iOS4!)
Mine isn't dreadfully slow, but it is slower than under iOS4.  Apple's ideal solution would be to upgrade to the iPad 2; assuming that (like me) you don't want to do this, the best way to speed up the iPad is to do a soft reset.  (This has helped me in almost every situation where the iPad--or my iPhone--got very slow, or had too many crashes.)  Hold down the Home button and the Sleep button until the screen first goes black, then shows a white apple symbol.  It takes a while to finish resetting, but it clears most of the data that cause the slowdown.
To my surprise, by the way, it appears that shutting the device off (hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" bar appear, then slide) does not do as complete a job resetting the iPad as the soft reset.

  • After installing Mavericks my computer is running very slow, After installing Mavericks my computer is running very slow

Two days ago I installed Mavericks to my MacBook Pro.  The computer is very, very slow. I did not have that problem before.  Also as I change between windows the whole screen is blurred with horizontal lines.  Once safari, email or another app opens up it take a few minutes before I can actually use it.  The cursor pauses like crazy.  Quite frustrating. I checked the captibality before downloading and it met all the requirements.  Help please!!

After installing i found my mac has become very slow, its taking a long time to process applications and stuff. It does not shut down completely, i get an error message most of the time saying i should press the power button for 5 seconds in order to shut down or off the computer completely.
Please advise should i just go back to the old version or is there a fix to this
