App Store it says my computer or device cannot be verified - it's ok on my other mac

Want to do a routine app update, tried to sign in at the App Store, no good, "computer or device cannot be verified", didn't have a problem on my laptop, same ID & password.
Does anybody have any ideas, Thanks

Launch iTunes.
From the iTunes menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer
Go to the menu bar again click Store / Sign Out.
Quit iTunes, launch the App Store then try the update.

  • What is wrong with App Store?  On all of my devices it says App Store is unavailable

What is wrong with App Store?  On all of my devices it says App Store is unavailable

    Based on posting time
It could be off line for maintenance - picking slowest time of day.
It could be off line because of a power failure - even with UPS(uninterrupted power source) they may want to shut down.
Extreme melting can flood man-holes causing line failures.

When I try to sign on to Mac App Store I get the message "Your device or computer cannot be verified" Yet I can sign on in iTunes no problem.  I've tried all the suggestions from App Support but no luck. What am I doing wrong?

What troubleshooting techniques have you tried? Have you restarted the app? Have you restarted your computer?
One idea is to Trash this file; Mac HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist and restart.

  • Apple id was originally disabled. I reset my password and can sign into my apple id account. But when i want to buy an app in the app store it says my apple id is disabled again.

apple id was originally disabled. I reset my password and can sign into my apple id account. But when i want to buy an app in the app store it says my apple id is disabled again.

It's real easy to create a new one and, in fact, it's too easy.  I say that because multiple IDs are a PIA.  The problem is that anything obtained from the iTunes Store is PERMANENTLY associated with the ID that was used to obtain the item(s).  iTunes items can not be transferred from one ID to another and IDs can not be merged.
The problem arises when you want to update an app.  If you're doing it from iTunes on your computer, you must log out and back in to get to the correct ID.  Then you update and log out/in again to get back to where you started.  It's slightly easier if you update from the iPad/iPod device as there is no need to log out/in BUT you still need the correct password for the appropriate ID.  Of course, with a disabled ID, the problem is much worse!
A replacement Apple ID makes sense ONLY if you wish to start out absolutely brand new with zero iTunes Store purchases.
If you're really butting your head aginst a wall and you're reasonably close to an Apple Store, my suggestion is that you make an appointment with the resident "Genius" and get his/her help.
One last thought...  If your brother actually got a human on the phone to dispute the charges, go there and explain the problem.  Of course, if Apple did not accept his explanation of what occurred, that could be the whole issue.  Apple believes that money is owed on the account!

  • Why is when I try to download from the App Store, it says "The application cannot be downloaded." I do have an ID account and my software has been updated.

Hello there, I'm new to the Apple world, and I'm still learning my way around.
Why is when I try to download from the App Store, it says "The application cannot be downloaded."
It doesn't ask me for payment or anything. When I click on download, about 10 seconds later, that message pops up and nothing is downloaded onto my laptop. I can download other stuff onto my laptop for e.g. Microsoft Word and other various programs such as Google Chrome from the internet. However, I just cannot download from App Store. Any suggestions on how I can download apps?

There is nothing wrong with my iTunes, is more of the App store that I am concerned about. And I've tried the "Authorise this computer" yes it does download when using iTunes, but no luck with App Store. And, yes I am logged onto iTunes when doing purchases.
I find this really fustrating because the App store works fine on my ipod but once it comes to my macbook, it does not download. A few seconds later after I click on an app to download, the pop up message notifies me that the purchase cannot be downloaded.
    Anyways, thanks for your suggestion.

  • I keep getting banner that there is 8 apps to be updated, when i go to the App Store it says all app are updated, how do i get this to stop?

i keep getting banner that there is 8 apps to be updated, when i go to the App Store it says all app are updated, how do i get this to stop?
It seems that every time I start up the IPad the banner over ITunes shows 8 or more in the banner.  I have completly signed off of the ipad and it still comes up.  Any suggestions?  It seems to have coincided with IOS 7 being released, I have not downloaded IOS 7 to my IPad or my Iphone at this time.

I"m not sure exactly what to do because once I got mine sorted out I can't exactly replicate it to test it, but it's like somehow your ID gets messed up.
I tried to download an app, then Apple thought that I'd never bought anything from my device so went through the whole 'give your secret questions' thing and ended up having to call apple to get them to reset.
Long story short,  the inability to update has something to do with the App Store not recognizing your device, even though part of it does recognize your device (which is why you get the little badges)
You could try downloading a free app and see if you can verify your ID. Or you can poke around in here

and see if you can manage your account  and see if that helps.

  • App Store wiped off my computer! What do I do?

App Store keeps saying closed unexpectedly and I can't find it anywhere in the Finder! Seems like it's completely wiped off my computer, what do I do?

Download the large Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo and install it over your current installation. It is safe to do.

  • When I try to open a spreadsheet on my Mac that I worked on with my iPhone, I get "You need a newer version of Numbers to open this spreadsheet." When I go to the App store, it says I already have it. I have v. 2.3 and can't seem to download newer version

When I try to open a spreadsheet on my Mac that I worked on with my iPhone, I get "You need a newer version of Numbers to open this spreadsheet." When I go to the App store, it says I already have it. I have v. 2.3 and can't seem to download newer version.

If you are running Mavericks, and the Mac App store says you are up to date, then you have Numbers 3.2 as well as Numbers 2.3. You are getting the "Need a newer version message because your Mac is trying to open the document using Numbers 2.3.
Launch Numbers 3, then open the document from within that app, or right click/control-click the document and choose Open with Numbers 3.x.
