App Store Location Issues

Hi. I live in the UK but am working in the US for 3 months. I want to download an app which is only available in the US app store. I tried to change app store location through the settings to enable this , but it won't complete as all my bank cards are UK registered. Any bright ideas?

Yes, you cannot download an app from a different country until you've home address and credit card for that country.

How can I change a app store location? I'm in US trying to dowload an app and it says my account is not valid in the Australian store. I have nothing to do with Australia.

Go to the iTunes Store. Scroll down to the very bottom and click the flag that is on the bottom right. Then you can select what store you want.

You can only purchase items from the country's store in which you are located and your account, including the payment method has to be associated with that country.
To change the country's store, see:
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account
You may have to go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign baack in to allow the change.

How to change app store location on iphone 4s?

    Changing App Store Location
NOTE: Your App Store account location, your iTunes account location, and your Apple account location are all the same thing. In other words, if you change the location of one of these accounts, the change will be applied to all accounts (actually it'll be applied to just ONE account, since they're the same and all, but you know what I mean).
STEP 1 - Open the App Store app.
STEP 2 - Select the "Featured" tab at the bottom.
STEP 3 - Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "Apple ID: [email protected]".
STEP 4 - Select "View Apple ID".
STEP 5 - Insert your password and select "OK".
    STEP 6 - Select "Country/Region".
STEP 7 - Select "Change Country or Region".
STEP 8 - Select your desired country from the list. NOTE: If your country is not listed alphabetically, scroll to the bottom of the list where you'll find it written in original form (for example, Japan is listed at the bottom as "日本"). Then click "Done" and "Next".
Finally, input your billing information. If you do not have a credit card connected to a bank account created in the country you selected, IT'S OK! Just select none in the credit card section. As long as you have a workable address, you're good to go.
*****As of this post, Apple has set no limit to the number of times you can switch your account back and forth between countries.*****

  • HT1937 App store Location problem

    Hello apple
I'm living in Cambodia. i used iPad with retina that brought from USA from at&t cellular + wifi.
I have a problem with App Store location.
App Store automatically change the country like Australia store, Vietnam store, Thai store, etc.
When I login to my account and start to download the app it always ask me to change to
the store that I used for my profile. Also I login with my friend account who live at the USA it stills
ask me to change again and against and App Store itself has switched to the store that asked.
App Store not stay at the same country as profile country or account country.
    How to fix this?
Sorry for bad English I'm Cambodian.
    Thanks

Just as a heads up you are not talking to Apple here as this is a user to user forum.
Now in terms of your App Store you need to use the Cambodian App Store.
    - go to settings>itunes & app store
    - tap your Apple ID at the top
    - select view apple id
    - enter password if prompted to
    - select country/region
    - change it to cambodia

  • Is app store location matters the updates?

Hi, I heard that some app in US app stores are cheaper than AUS. Can I change my app store location to US? If doing so, can I update my purchased apps from US app store?

The terms of use of the stores state that you can only buy/download content from a country's store if are in that country e.g. for the US store (from here) :
The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance.

  • App Store Mavericks issue - App Store Button Toggles between "Install App" button and "Free Update"

When I go to the app store and click on the "Free Upgrade" Button it switches immediately to the green "Install App" button.  Nothing is downloading in the background.  When "Install App" is clicked on it immediately goes back to "Free Download".
Currently running 10.7.5, 2009 Macbook Air, app store account is Canadian.  Currently located in Grenada.  Friends with other accounts (USA, Canada) have been able to upgrade without issue.

This has been happening for a few weeks now with no solution in sight. It seems to be an issue with the App Store, not the phone. You'll just have to deal with it for now. Use the search function on the right or just look through recent thread titles to see several other discussion on this issue.

  • IPhone 5S cannot make purchase with App Store (login issue)

Ok - I am rather irritated.  I tried to purchase a 99 cent app, and upon tapping the purchase button, the App Store insisted that I enter my Apple ID password (what happened to using your fingerprint, which worked when I bought the phone?).  Ok - so I enter the correct password.
I am then confronted with another window that states that I need to confirm my ID - and it has me enter my password again - then says I need to answer two security questions... which I did.  It tells me I did not answer one or both correctly and to try again.  I again entered what I absolutely KNOW is the correct info - and it repeatedly gave the same message... until it finally said I would be locked out from making any further purchases, and to contact customer support.
Funny - I can log in using iTunes on my MacBook Pro and am having no issues whatsoever with that.  I can view my account, make purchases, etc.
    So what gives?

I have no idea what the deal is - but I somehow "fixed" this... I manually logged in to my apple ID on my MacBook Pro, went to the security section and confirmed my security question answers (I had them right, just as I thought).  Closed out that page, went back to my iPhone and simply tapped the "go" button again (same answers, same questions) - and it logged in just fine...
Must have been an App Store glitch...

  • App store billing issue (prob not the right place for this but i couldn't find a better one)

I have been using the same card for my itunes account for as long as i have had an itunes account and a personal credit card, all of a sudden about a week or so ago while trying to update some applications on my iphone it asked me to sign in and confirm my billing information, from that day on it has refused to recognise the security code for my credit card or any other credit card for that matter, has anyone else had a similar issue with billing for their app store/itunes account and if so is this something that can be fixed easily without sending the device out or going to a repair centre
the most frustrating thing of all is all of the updates i need to install are free updates for applications that were also free :-/

go to http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp, enter your billing address, it will then show you how the USPS recognizes your address. Enter that address EXACTLY how it is shown on the USPS site into your itunes billing address info.

  • IOS 7 App Store Updates - Issue?

    Hi-
I recently updated to iOS 7 and have noticed what I think is a bug with App Store.  Occassionally when I unlock my iPhone (iPhone 5, if that matters) I see that the App Store badge has 1 or 2 updates available.  However when I open the App Store, there are no updates and in fact I see updates that I downloaded and installed on September 19th.  I've set the App Store to not install updates automatically.
This seems like a bug...has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks!

Resurrecting old thread, but I'm having the same problem on multiple devices.
More specifically, I am updating apps via cable sync from desktop Itunes. The apps are updated on the devices via the cable sync, but the counter stays there. As noted in the original post, when I open app store app on device, the apps needing update will first show Update next to them, then quickly change to Open, but the counter remains.
    Iphone 6, iOS 8.1.2
    Ipad 2 iOS 8.1.2
    Iphone 5 iOS 8.1.2
I called Apple service (my iPhone 6 is still under warranty), they had no clue what was happening. All they did was told me to call them back another day and gave me a case ID.
I have rebooted devices and restored them both as new and from backup. When the restore is done, the counter goes away, but then when a new app needs updating, it happens again.
Anyobody having this issue recently and fixed it? It's very annoying.
