App Store Not Accepting Password

App Store Not Accepting Password.  I have valid credit card.  This is for updates

Hi , I have the same problem . I can login and purchase from iTunes , I can view my account details when I log in via the app store . However I have two updates waiting and everytime I attempt to download them I get the sign in prompt followed by " we could not complete " error 100 or 1004 . I have reset my password and it is accepted for everything but updates . Any help would be appreciated .

  • ITunes/app store not accepting my password today.  But when I logged on here it worked fine

I am unable to log in to iTunes or the App Store.  It advises me there was an unknown error and to retry.  But I was able to log in to this forum with the same apple Id and password with no probs.  thoughts?

    Thanks for your reply.
It's good to know that all I have to do is wait.  I had read some old discussions about having to delete folders from my Mac, etc. etc.
I tried again this morning and now I get this message:
I'll wait a few hours and try again.

  • ITunes and App Store not accepting my Apple iD

I cannot sign in with my Apple iD on either application. I get an error message on iTunes after approx 2 mins saying "We could not complete your iTunes store  request. The secure network connection was refused. There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later.".
I get a different message on App Store simply saying "Connection failed".
I'm running a MacBook with MacOS X version 10.6.8, with iTunes version 10.4. All my software is up to date. I've tried disabling the firewall in MacOS this makes no difference.
The username and password are correct for my Apple iD as i'm using it to post on the community board.
I am able to browse the stores but can't purchase anything as it requires me to sign in to purchase.
Both applications have worked in the past with this iD, but my last purchase was back in April, I don't buy too much, now I can't purchase anything anymore as it won't sign in.
    Can anyone help me?

  • Mac App Store not accepting my login details. Help!

For some reason, after updating to 10.6.8 for the upcoming release of Lion. I could not download any apps and every time I attempted to login it prompted me "Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance." I can confirm that I am entering the right password since it works perfectly on iTunes, that I deleted the preferences com.apple.storeagent.plist and com.apple.appstore.plist, and that I never installed Fruit Menu or APE.
Thanks to anyone who is willing to help

    Don't count on cust support . . .
Same problem, multiple times.  It keeps wanting me to reenter my credit card info (all I want is a free app) and then when I DO enter it I get the "technical difficulties, try later" message.
I tried the app store/itunes support link (apparently they are the same thing) and the response/form letter I got back was all about iTunes (which I clearly indicated was working fine for me) and didn't give any clue about my problem with "technical difficulties" logging into the App Store.  So I wrote back pointing out that they didn't even come close to answering my question . . . and got another form letter on how to PAY to get support . . . all I wanted to do was download a free app from the mac store.
I'm going to give them a week or so to iron out the obvious bugs in their "new" toys and then try again.  I do have applecare with my new mac so if all else fails I better be able to get help through them . . . but this is VERY annoying.
Please post back if any of you have better luck!

  • App store not accepting Apple ID to leave reviews. Only the App store though. I-tunes takes Apple ID no problem. Anyone else having trouble ONLY in App store?

ID not working in App store only. Anyone having this issue?

purchased apps and music are forever associated with the itunes account/ID that was used when the purchase was made.  If you change ID on a device, then you'll get the prompts because the apps are from a different ID.
Either put up with this, or (using the ID that you want to use in the future) buy the items again.
As for the account (itunes or icloud) that a device is currently using, go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account then enter a different account if that's what you want.
For itunes, go to Settings>itunes & apps Stores, tap the account name on the next page, then choose log off (or whatever the option is called).  Like icloud, you can then log into a different itunes store account.

  • App store not accepting my debit card. But I'm still being charged?

So Ive been trying to buy this app for a while now so I bought a $15 app store gift card. The app is 14.99 so I apparently forgot about tax. So I try to put my debit card info in (paypal) and it keeps getting denied. Next I checked my paypal acount to see that I have a few 1 dollar charges pending and I'm not really understanding whats going on. This even happened after havin to "identify" myself before downloading a free app. So whats going on? BTW Im on an iPad 3 ios 5

  • App store not accepting valid payment info

i've had an issue similar to this two other times, both of which were solved once my debit card balance was higher than $0. this time, it won't accept my valid payment info and it says it's due to an error in a previous purchase, which i don't even know what it is or why there was even an error to begin with. now because of this, i can't update any apps or even install free ones.

Contact iTunes Support to resolve the matter. Debit cards are not accepted in all areas - and
some areas that previously accepted debit cards no longer do. Until the matter is resolved,
you will not be able to download anything including updates and free items. Start here:

  • App Store Not Accepting Credit Card Info

Ok, so has anyone else had this problem? I can't purchase anything from the app store (aside from free apps) but I can purchase from the rest of the iTunes store.
Does anyone have any tips? Thanks!

You are so lucky! I also called the US from here in HK and was on the phone for about 45 minutes.
He put me on hold for 10 minutes while he researched the problem and returned to say that they are now blocking non-US IP addresses from accessing the US iTunes store. He told me that the only thing I can do is buy iTunes gift cards or have someone in the States log-in to my account and download them for me. I suspect that it must have something to do with some Chinese websites that gives you 24 hour unlimited access to the US itunes store to download anything you want.
But this can't be the whole story as some people in the US are experiencing similar "verification loop" problems.
It's too bad. I finally made the switch to iphone after years with Symbian Nokia phones. Despite Symbian's lack of apps, I never once encountered such restrictions as I do with this iphone.

  • Iphone App Store not accepting correct password

I have an Ipad 2 & an Iphone 5, just recently i was trying to update apps on my iphone and i get the message 'password incorrect retry' i know the password is correct as i logged in to itunes on my ipad ok, i am using IOS 7.1.2. My imessage and facetime are working fine too.
Is there any way to fix this? I have tried to change the password and also a soft reset but that didnt help with the problem.

Even though it's working ok on the iPad, reset your Apple ID password >  Apple - My Apple ID
    Then try updating apps.

  • App Store not accepting my Apple ID without credit card

Hi! I recently bought an Iphone 4S and tried creating an Apple ID but was not successful because I don't have a credit card. What I did was I just registered using my laptop and was able to create one without any credit card details. However, when I tried using it on my Iphone, it still asked for a credit card which again, I don't have. I read on some topics here that you need to initially put in your credit card details and then just change it to no credit card afterwards. How can I do that if I don't have a credit card at all. It's sad that Apple assumes ALL people have credit cards. Is there any other workaround for my problem?
