App Store Not Working - Purchases Failing - Error: PMT50016

Hi Palm,
I am in the US and for the last week or more whenever I go to try to make a purchase from the App Catalog/Store.  I get the error message 'Purchase Failed'.  When I tap on the exclamation mark/message I get the following:
'Couldn't Purchase' - The Item could not be purchased.  Try again later. PMT50016.
I first thought this was an issue with the particular App I was attempting to buy, but I have tried others and I still receive the same message. 
I've checked my CC on file and nothing appears to be wrong with that.  I've also rebooted the phone multiple times, so not sure why this error would start occurring.  In the past, I'd been able to make purchases successfully. 
Anyone else having this same problem?....If so, is there a fix?  Is Palm aware of this issue? - Please help.

    I was at my friends house, everything was working fine. I went to my girlfriends house, everything was still working fine. Then once I got home, I got back out my 2010 MacBook Pro 15" to use and some pages on the internet looked a little odd. They were all in HTML format and wouldn't go back (Pages such as Skype and Apple's main page). I thought they were just down or being fixed up, but then I went to update my Mac under the App Store. I clicked the App store and a message popped up saying "App Store cannot verify a secure connection with the App Store." The options were "Cancel" or "Continue". I clicked "Continue" so I could update my Mac, but weird enough, the App Store started flickering (strobing; blinking) as seen in this video by someone with the same problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De8aQZccRvA
    I do not know what to do or why this is happening, so help would be VERY nice.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
    Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

    I have an IPad 2.  Just got ita few months ago.  All was working well untill last night.  My App Store will not work.  It will open but it will not let you search or show apps.  All I get is a white screen.  I have tried resetting, hard boot, nothing works.  I wanted to buy and download an app but now I cannot. Please help anyone?

    Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

    If you did not purchase the card from a Canadian Walmart it will not work/redeem in the Canadian iTunes?App store.

    FYI.  Super annoying that I had to do this, but I factory reset my phone and set it up as a new phone and that solved the problem.  That is a little less of a pain for me since I have all my contacts sync'd with gmail so they all just pop back up when I add that account on my phone.
    App store working like a champ for now.

  • Mac App Store not working - first day with new MacBook Pro

    Hi guys,
    I received a new MacBook Pro 13 inch with retina display today and have been working on it this evening but I have a problem: My app store won't open.
    It was fine earlier - I downloaded both textwrangler and notepad - but now, whenever I click on the icon in the dock it bounces for a few seconds before simply showing a blank screen.
    I have uninstalled my downloads from the day in the hope that it would prove to be a fix but nothing has happened. I live in the UK so it's too late for me to ring the store - it's past 10pm here - but I was hoping somebody could help me out!
    Also - My iTunes doesn't work - whenever I try to purchase an album or listen to any music an error message pops up reading 'an unknown error occurred.' I'm not sure if the two problems are linked...
    Any help will be greatly, and gladly, appreciated!

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Macbook Late 09 10.6.8 App Store not working fresh install

    Greetings!
    I had upgraded the Macbook to Yosemite not very long ago and then decided to purchase a SSD. I have a Snow Leopard disc, so I installed SL and immediately ran the updates. Now when I open the app store, every 'Get', 'Download' or 'Install App' button does nothing.
    I tried everything I could find online (deleting plists and cache>reboot, disable firewall, checked all network settings, enabled/disabled indexing etc etc).
    I finally gave up and ran the install disk again. I erased and zeroed the SSD and tried everything again. Once the install completed, I went straight to Software Update and ran everything again. Same deal. I sign in App Store and nothing works.
    There are no error messages. Each button grays out like its clicked, but nothing happens, even after leaving it for hours. There are no incomplete downloads and nothing changes status on the 'Purchases' list.

    Hmmm... I've been trying since Wednesday night also.
    My Software update also shows there are no updates with 10.6.8 running. I'm signed the App Store etc. My hardware is definitely compatible since I already had Yosemite installed before the HDD swap.

    Yes, it's been reported and yes, Apple is working to resolve the issue.
    More than likely a server issue.

    After upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite. I checked the App Store's icon to see that I have 6 updates. I launched the App Store and this was my window:

    When I click on Store -> "View my account", it keeps on asking me to sign in forever.
    Also when I click on "iCloud" in preferences, I get this error which I think is related:
    I tried restarting my mac several times. I tried quitting the storeagent from the Activity Log. But it's still the same.

    When I open up the App Store on my iPhone 4 (current software is 5.1), and click on Featured, it takes me directly to the New Year, New You list of Apps and lists the categories of Your Body, Your Mind, Your Money and Your Time. There is no way to get back to the traditional page that lists what Apps are being featured. I've tried killing the app in multitasking, doing a soft reset (holding the Power and Home button), resetting all settings and restoring my iPhone. Nothing's worked and I'm at a loss...my iPad 2 App store works fine so I konw it's isolated to my iPhone for some reason. Any suggestions?

    I dont know if there is a differance if you have Genius on or off when the error occur. But i tried the Genius fix twice. The first time I hadn't killed the app store from the running apps menu (double clicking the home button), that time I ended up on the info page when I reactivated Genius. The second time I killed the app before turning off Genius from the settings, that time it fixed it for me. But as I said, I had Genius on from the start, so it might not help you.. but you should try it if you havn't allready.

    Does the iPod connect OK to other networks?
    Try the following to rule out a software problem:                 
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
