App store on mac won't purchase with "none credit" but money available from redeem cards

ryt... so i have a mac book pro 15" 2.5 ghz, 8 gig ram highest specs available for my comp etc... i also have $15.36 in my apple account from using a redeemer card i bought 2day. i got home and went to my app store on my mac and wanted to buy GTA san andreas for $14.99 so i clicked BUY... it asked for my password and i gave it.. then it asked for my password again for billing info as it usually does and i would usually press DONE and it would start to download.. "i don't use a credit card on the app store cause i will probably spend to much money, so i have it on NONE and just buy credit on the redeem cards when i really want something" anyways.. so as i usually do i clicked BUY blah, blah BUT... after it said pls do the billing info part i just added my password and clicked DONE except this time it didn't let me buy it?? so now i would please like to know if anyone has had this problem and fixed it or knows how i can get past this annoyance and buy the game?! or is it the game having problems or what??

The total cost of the app may include any applicable taxes and fees. Since the app is $14.99 and you only have $15.36 credit, that's probably not enough to purchase the app and that's why you are asked for a credit or debit card so Apple can apply the difference to that account.

This is incorrect. "There is a billing problem with a previous purchase. Please update you payment method. " means you have made a purchase and iTunes/Apple hasn't received the finds for it yet. hence the "There is a billing problem with a previous purchase. Please update you payment method. ". This means you would need to either use an iTunes gift card to pay it off or another debit or credit card that is currently on the account.

Thanks, varjak, it is too easy to fall into use of jargon assuming everyone understands what it means.
One additional point in all of this, not all "iDevice" apps run on every "iDevice". Some are customized for a specific device, or class of devices such as the iPod/iPhone with their smaller screen. Others for just the iPads for their larger screens. So the user needs to be sure they are getting an app that will work on their specific device.
And to Phoneboone, you do need to purchase the app again if it is for a different class of equipment. When you are looking at apps such as iWorks for the Mac and iWorks components for the iPad, the iPad versions are very inexpensive. Pages is only $10 (US) which is really cheap for such a good word processor that reads and saves in the MS Word format.
Anyway, search for what you need and just enjoy the convenience of so many options for apps.

Apps that are written for the Mac OS cannot be used on iOS devices, such as the iPad. You can purchase the iOS versions of some of these apps in the iTunes App Store.

FaceTime is included in Lion. The App Store version is for 10.6. If you deleted it, restore it from a backup, or reinstall the Mac OS.

Basically my MacBook Pro's hard drive recently got corrupted and I had to get a new one. Most of my files were saved, thankfully, but all of my apps were deleted. I've tried to re-download them from the app store but when I sign in, it tells me that I haven't purchased any apps, which isn't true!
My main concern is Pages, to be honest as I am a university student so having a word processor is kind of essential! And being a student I don't really have a spare £15 to buy something that I've already bought.

And you are looking in the Mac App Store (not iTunes) under the Purchased option?
Also, you are certain that you are signed on with that Apple ID to the Mac App Store (Store in top menu, then Sign In)?

first even though you tell me i dont need the update, i still don't like seeing

then it reboots and go through all the new installation crap

If you are running v10.7 Lion, install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo)
Restart your Mac after installing the appropriate combo update.
There is no direct link to App store to resolve this issue.

App Store compatible Mac apps from AIR?

Hi,
I'm developing an app in Adobe AIR (HTML/JS), and while it's not critical, I'd like to have this app in the new Apple App Store. You won't find many people more disappointed with how Apple is running this store, but it may be a business reality that to get success on the Mac, App Store distribution is required.
I guess what this would involve would be to bundle up the whole AIR runtime into the app package, and hope the Apple minions think this is OK. Any plans at Adobe to do something about this?

I actually had luck using the SHU Player http://www.shu-player.com/ to package my AIR app as a standalone executable. I am not sure if it would have passed Apple's guidelines, but it was a great start. However in my experience, Adobe will not grant a license for you to use Adobe AIR in this way. I was quite disappointed to say the least. Our native competitors have quite the advantage at the moment, and I've got my fingers crossed that AIR 3.0 to addresses this in a serious way. They've done something much harder with their iPhone compiler, and if SHU already does it, it makes me hopeful that it's more of a legal issue than a technical one.

To be honest - Apple did a miserable job in designing the user accounts on Apple Store, iTunes app profile, Apple ID profile and Apple discussion groups profile. You can't even change the password in discussion groups. You have to go through "forgot password" to reset it. I tried it once and never received the reset-email. Total misery.
Anyway, I had the same issue with not being able to sign into Apple Store app. In the end I resolved it by CLIKING on the PURCHASES button in iTunes, then it asked me for password and then I was able to make purchases etc..

With the app store for mac.... All we have to do is just have to create a "macintosh projector" in flash, convert to a zip file and
then just submit to apple as you do with the ipa files using application loader tool. Is it really as easy as this or is there some

There are two gotchas, at least. First, the app cannot have PowerPC code in it, so you have to use a utility that strips out PPC code from the app. The other thing is that the whole preparing for the store stage is tricky, regardless of what tool made the app. Read carefully the steps shown in the Apple pages for how to prepare apps. It's a lot of work in Terminal.

App store for Mac hangs and does not open

When I click on the app store icon on my desk top, it just bobs and never opens. However it is running in the background as my computer starts moving very slowly and hangs if I try to restart or shut down.

My app stores was actually working very well when I first downloaded the update. I actually bought 2 applications.
It's now behaving as described above, bounces for a bit then I get "App Store quite unexpectedly"
I initially installed the Combo update knowing it's virtues, I later reinstalled and repaired permissions, no luck. I even trashed the App Store and repeated the Combo install with a permission repair.
If there is anything I can Suspect, it maybe Clean My Mac, I used the software once last week, but i don't recall a clear connection between it and the App Store behaving as such.
further, I'd like to add that surprisingly the Dock icon is showing me a Badge with the number of software updates... strange.
Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated!

You just resync your iPhone with iTunes on your laptop.
If you are logged with the same Apple ID on both devices it should be available to download from your phone:
Open App Store app > Updates > Purchased
