App store page says OS 10.7 will run on "late 2008" macbook what is "late" by apple's definition?
Mine was built the first week of Sep.2008t so if apple defines by quarters then it won't run on mine but I have seen "mid" and "early" so if they divide the year into thirds then I'm okay.
Might I add in case any Apple folk read this that using such terms sounds casual/conversational but when it becomes important as to usage or compatibility the "built after September 1, 2008" would be more precise.
Two very different answers and it matters which is correct.
Again I fault Apple if Mende1 is correct they should state a requirement for Intel Core 2 Duo NOT "late 2008" which would mean Yes. If Niel is correct I can't upgrade as mine was made in week 37.
I found this at the Apple site not the App Store which was unhelpful.

Now here it doesn't even reference the white plastic MacBook.
You guys are trying to help but Apple could solve this by being precise.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc. -
I have an iPod Classic. I think it is a 5th generation. I would like to know if I can download games from the App store that say they are for iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch. Will these work on my iPod Classic?

Under purchased items in the APP Store, it say that the item you have requested is currently not available in the US store. The item in question is Mountain Lion OS X which I have already paid for. Any ideas to retrieve this?
When you submit a podcast you should get an email acknowledging the submission. If you subsequently submit it again you will get an error message saying that it's already been submitted.
It then has to be assessed by a real person, which can take some time - a couple of weeks seems to be common, but it can be longer: however since March seems an unreasonably long time.
When it's accepted (or rejected) you should get an email saying so, in the first case giving you a link to the Store page.
More than that I can't tell you: obviously I don't have access to the inner workings of the Store. You could try asking Support, but I have to say you probably won't get a helpful answer. Go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'. You will see a link to either 'Express Lane', which will guide you eventually to some contact options, or you may see a link to email them. -
I bought the Keynote app for my MacBook, but when I open the application and try to install it, I get an error message saying that the application will not work with my MacBook. What gives? And, can I please request a refund? ($19.99 = a week's groceries).

Am I the only one who hates the size of app store pages?
Just upgraded from iOS 5 to 7, getting used to it but overall I like it. However, there's one major problem: what the heck happened to the App Store pages? They used to fill the entire screen, now they're just a little window in the middle with maybe two inches at most to scroll through the description. I like the separation of description and reviews, but why so tiny? It makes no sense.
And just to make even less sense, there's now App Store on the iTunes app as we'll, which has exactly the same layout but at full screen! It's such a pleasure to use, but finding apps is such a pain that it'd rather use App Store. Is there any fix?Most owners of iLife 08 I know use iMovie 06.
iMovie 08 is a wonderful program assuming that you're using it for what it was designed to do, assemble simple videos to share on the Internet.
I use both iMovie 06 and iMovie 08 (iMovie 06 about 90%, iMovie 08 about 10%).
I do find that iMovie 08 is "feature reduced" and not as DVD friendly compared to iMovie 06. iMovie 06 is "timeline based", iMovie 08 is "clip based". The lack of a true timeline in IM08 is hard to get used to for some.
It is true that you can make a DVD using iMovie 08 but I find it to be harder. iMovie 08 has replaced "Share to iDVD" with "Share to media browser". Also iMovie 08 cannot set chapter markers, this has to be done with another program.
iMovie 08 is NOT an upgrade of iMovie 06. It is a completely new application. iMovie 08 is better for absolute beginners that don't want to burn a DVD. Most others will like iMovie 06 for its far greater editing power and ease of making DVDs. (Like creating Chapter Markers and Share to iDVD.)
Remember that Apple includes iMovie 06 as a free download to iLife 08 owners. (They want you to have it.)

When I try opening iPhoto on my iMac (OSX 10.9.2) it says I must first download the update; when I try doing so from the App store, it says there are no updates available. Stuck in a classis Catch-22 - any ideas how I might solve the problem?

As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

FCPX crashed and I reported it here. Tom Wolsky suggested I trash prefs, perform an fsck, reboot and redownload FCPX from the App store. The reboot was okay but Safari will not let me access the App Store to redownload FCP. I'm running 10.6.8 but the App Store icon is grayed out. I get a "Safari doesn't recognize addresses starting with macappstore."
How do I get to the App Store to get FCPX back? I'm using the Trial version now.How are you linking to the App Store from Safari? From this page?

Yesterday I worked on spreadsheets in the 3.0 version, today I open up numbers and it tells me I need to update. When I look in "about numbers" it tells me I have version 09...I went to the app store, it says the new version is installed on my Mac.

Numbers 3.0.1 lives in your Applications folder. Numbers '09 lives in a folder called iWork '09 within your Applications folder. You can drag each icon to your Dock. They will become Aliases. Right click (or control click) on each Alias in turn and Options > Keep in Dock. Then you can choose which one to launch.
Numbers '09 (Numbers 2.3) is on the left, three column chart. Numbers '13 (Numbers 3.0.1) is on the right, four column chart.
Both versions will run side-by-side. Just be sure which version has your document open before you save.
In Numbers 3.0.1 you can convert "backwards" to Numbers 2 with File> Export > Numbers '09...

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.
