App Store Preview Swipe Bug

I can't find anyone else having this problem viewing apps in the App Store. The problem comes when I swipe through the captured screen shots of an app while in the App Store. As soon as I swipe through, the series of screenshots scroll downward, after which only the top half of the images are visible. In other words it's impossible to see a preview of an app in its entirety.
Any thoughts? Am I the only one? Anyone? ANYONE?!

I think I have the same problem!
When I'm in the App Store, and I want to scroll through the screenshots, the view keeps popping back up to the top so I have to scroll back down each time to view the screenshot. It's not a major issue or anything but it's rather annoying and I just upgraded to iOS 6.1 hoping it would fix the issue but no luck! :( I have a 4S, not sure if that makes a difference? Are there really not that many people having this issue?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Mavericks has broken most stock apps, app store ,preview, messages, facetime ect the list goes on they bounce in the menu then nothing its been like that since installing mavericks fixed briefly by reinstalling but then stopped again very quickly

You most likely ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

Make sure you don't forget about Rosetta.
And you meet Mountain Lion Apple hardware requirements, and backup your data to at least two separate places, making sure neither is connected to the machine when the update is installed, and check that all your drivers are compatible as well. Only upgrade to Mavericks if there is software you need Mavericks for. Otherwise stay put until everything is up to date.

TextEdit, App Store, Preview do not respond to clicking or keyboard shortcuts

Late 2013 Macbook Pro Retina running Mavericks 10.9.4 with all software updated.
A couple of days ago, I opened an image up in Preview only to find that the application would not respond to any clicks or keyboard shortcuts I made. If I were to hover over an icon on the top bar, it would recognize that I was doing that, but not do anything if I clicked on it. Ultimately, the only way to close the program to perform a force quit with Cmd-Opt-Shift-Esc or right-click on the dock and go to "Quit". It does not show up as not responding in the Force Quite menu, and the problem does not go away if I reboot the computer.
I've also experienced the problem in two other apps to date - the App Store and TextEdit. Both will act like they're perfectly okay until I actually go to click on something, in which case they won't respond at all. There's no spinning pinwheel or freezing - it just acts like nothing is happening. (For example, if I launch the App Store from my browser directly to an app page, the "Download" or "Purchase" button will highlight when you hover over it but cannot be pressed. I have launched it from Finder, as well, so it's not that contributing to it.)
These are the only apps I've noticed that are doing it, but they're all Apple apps. In contrast, Finder, iTunes, and Safari work as well as ever. Any help would be much appreciated.

Step 1

Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2

CleanMyMac 1 deleted lots of my apps like photobooth, terminal, mac app store, preview, etc. I use Mac OS X Mavericks. What can I do?

I was cleaning my Mac using this program 'CleanMyMac', everything was perfect until I went to the Launchpad and I noticed that lots of my apps didnt show their icons like Skype, Photo Booth, Terminal, Maps, Contacts, iBooks, Mac App Store, Reminder, etc. I tried to open them but I couldnt!!!! I cant even open terminal, and even worse... I CANT EVEN OPEN A PICTURE WITH 'PREVIEW'
I dont know what to do! I use OS X Mavericks!!!!!!

No. Reinstalling OS X leaves all your files intact. Unfortunately it also leaves system modifications such as those installed by CleanMyMac intact as well. Eradicating them is up to you.

So the result form Apple authorized servis was that both motherboard and graphic card need to be replaced (cost aproximatelly 1100$) and in addition they said there will still remain some problem with display which would cost additional 500$ to fix. Taken in account that there would be only 90 days warranty on new parts I decided to give up with the iMac. Very disappointing after only 1,5 year on machine that costed more than 2000$.
Recommendation from me after this experience - buy 3 years warranty if possible. I am personally very much looking forward for Mac Pro refresh. I don't want to be again in situation that if something breaks in my working machine I have no chance to replace it myself and can only expect very high repair costs. Untill new Mac Pros are out I'll suffer working on Mac Book Pro.

App Store - Updating Applications Bug

here's my problem:
app store shows there's x number of updates
i click to update, which is now a HUGE pain because the "update all" feature is gone
i have to pick each app one by one
then i go to the update of a certain app... it says FREE
i hit free, then i hit install and i get this:
"This discounted price is only available to customers who own a previous version of this item. To purchase this item at full price, click OK"
it gives me no choice other than to click ok.
then about half of them then say "This item is currently being modified. Please try again later"
(is someone really modifiying it on a Saturday at 5pm?)
this is a bug that needs fixing

i figured out my problem... i had two accounts that itunes understands.. a AOL account and a APPLE account... if i downloaded 5 apps when i was logged into the AOL account and then at a later time i was logged in the APPLE account, it would not download and update.. i would get the above error, however, if i logged off and logged in under the AOL account, those 5 apps would update and work fine.. however then the ones i downloaded when i was logged in under the APPLE account will now not update until i log in to those accounts

When I go to update my apps in app store, it says "unknown error has occurred". How do I fix that?

Go to the featured tab of the App Store and swipe down to the bottom. Tap on your Apple ID. Tap View Apple ID in the pop up window. Then enter your password. Go down to County/region in the next pop up window and change the store in there - if it doesn't change automatically for you via a message from iTunes.

TS1702 App Store says I can't download updates because I am on the US site.

My pad apps show 3 updates are awaiting download. When I try to do this I get a message that I need to go to the UK site but how? There is nothing to take me there?. I have already downloaded 2 apps in the last 24 hours without trouble. I am puzzled.

You do not see this when you follow the steps above? If not, go to the App Store and swipe to the bottom of the screen in the Featured Tab. Tap your ID and sign out. Then sign in again and see if that corrects the problem.

Missing apps after restart? + no App Store app.

I turned off my iPad because Twitter froze up and closed out unexpectedly. When I turned my iPad back on, I noticed half my apps were not there. I have tried to turn my iPad on and off several times now but the apps are still not there. No App Store app either. Please help. Any suggestions on what to do or ideas?

None of the preinstalled apps can be deleted or reinstalled and that includes the App Store.
Swipe from screen to screen to look for all of your apps. They could be in folders or could have been moves to other screens.
Check Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that you didn't disable any of them,
You can also reset the home screen layout and the apps will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad. This will make the preinstalled apps reappear on the home screen. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
You can also try resetting your iPad to see if any other apps reappear. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

I find an App that I would like to purchase. The Safari page for the App opens that says Mac App Store Preview. There is a button on that page that says View in Mac App Store. When I press this button, it opens iTunes instead and says that can not be purchased in the US (or something like that). If I manually go to the App Store and search on the application, I can easily find it and purchase it. This has happened with multiple apps. How do I get the link in Safari to open the App Store instead of iTunes?

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

I Can't open several apps, as for example, iBooks, Preview, or App Store!
I can't read pdf's or open books, cant's see images or anything that uses preview app.
Can't go to App Store to look for any available update.

You will need a copy of the Maverick installer.
Use Pacificst to " Open Apple Intallers"
The go to Contents of Mavericks->Contents of EssentialSystemSoftware->Contents of Essentials.pkg->Applications
Then Click on the programs that don't seem to be working and insall. This helped me update certain applications that weren't working such as App Store, Font Book, Mail, and any others.
