App Store Questions

Hey, so I just recently downloaded the App Store for Mac, and its working great, but I had a couple of trivial questions I was hoping someone could answer. Since I am now downloading all of my applications (pages, keynote, etc) and dont have a concrete cd anymore, how will I be able to move those applications onto another computer if the one I'm currently using gets trashed? (unlike when I would just have a cd and I could reinstall it in another computer and use the confirmation key to register it). Also, like many retail stores, it is possible to return software if its not what its lived up to be, so Im also wondering that if I download an application and decide I don't like it, do I have a timeframe or something where I'm allowed to "return" the application, get my money back, and have the app store uninstall it from my computer? If anyone can answer one or both of those questions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Copying an app works like copying any file; if you're copying from volume to volume, as you are when copying from one computer to another, it's a copy, not a move, so the original file remains in its original location.
if I drag an application iBank does all the data inside go as well or just the Application?
Data files for a Mac OS X application are almost always separate from the application file. You will need to check with the developer of the app to be certain, but in almost all cases if there's a data file kept, it will be separate and need to be copied separately if you want it on the other computer. This is definitely the case with iBank (I use it so I know).

Download from the App Store question...

I just put an SD card into my Palm Centro and downloaded 2 apps from the App store. Received confirmation that the download was completed. When I look at the info in the card it shows no icons. When I check the free space on the card, it shows nothing has taken up any memory. But when I check Card Info it shows I have used 672.0 KB. Can anyone tell when what has happened and where I can go to see the apps I downloaded? Thanks.

Following you so far. The 2 apps I downloaded both have .jsp extensions. Do you know if I am doing something wrong? I clicked the App store icon on my Centro and found 2 apps. I clicked the apps, it asked if I wanted to download and then installed with .jsp. There was no choice to make about file format or extensions.
Do you think there is a step that I missed or is it a possibility that these 2 apps were just links and not really useable apps to begin using?

IOS 7 App Store question

Previously when you went to the app store and selected updates it would list the apps that had available updates, once you installed the update that app would disappear from the list. With IOS 7 evry app I have updated remains in that list, is there any way to remove them from the list after updating them?

This is by-design now. They are sorted by the date they're updated. Presumably the change is due to the automatic update feature now so you can see when something was downloaded and updated in the background.

Apple App Store Question

I feel like a dork, but I can't figure out how in the app store to get lists of apps by category. I see there are a few categories listed on the home page, but what about other subtypes (ie, kids, finance, etc). When I pick an app from the homepage, I get a path at the top of the page (ie, appstore/news/app)...how do I find the entire collection of "news" -- or even know what the subtypes are?

You can hover over Apps in the top menu bar of the Store Window and click the white arrow at the right to see the categories. Games, has a "More games" link at the bottom of the right column for subcategories.
On your phone, tap categories at the bottom. AIl you tap games, you get the subcategories.

i have a friend who just got a iphone and he wants me to put music on it. he has a itunes account n app store account but is there a way i can put music on his phone with out changing his app store to mine bcuz i dnt really trust any1 with my app store. account bcu
z he might buy stuff. and i use my mom credit card

No don't do it. If he wants music, he can buy directly from his iPhone or use his own computer.

They will have to be answered the first time when purchasing from a new computer or device.

I am attempting to make my first purchase in the App store, yet it is asking me security questions I know I didn't enable and I keep getting locked out of my account despite resetting everything.

This usually wouldn't pose to be a problem, but I am a college freshman and I just redeemed my $100 giftcard to the app store. I am beyond frustrated and don't know what to do.
It is my first time making a purchase off of this Mac with this account, so it is asking me two security questions. It keeps asking me who my favorite and least favorite teachers were. I know for a fact that these are not the security questions I enabled, so I went in to change them again and logged out of everything. I logged back in and I was getting the same thing from the App store -- it was asking me questions I didn't enable. I've been locked out of my account for eight hours twice and all of my Mac's information is at home and not easily accessable to me, so I don't want to have to call and be asked for information I do not have.
What do I do? I need some crucial apps for classes that start in less than fourty-eight hours from now?
I have changed my appleID's information three times now: passwords, rescue email, and of course, my security questions. I am at my wits end and not pleased that I will possibly be losing $100!

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.

Just a question about the app store

i have seen the app store on itunes & i have a question on the apps you need to pay for.
(After this 2.0 upgrade problem is resolved)if you buy some apps for the itouch but after trying them, know that you dont like them, is there any way you can get your money back, or at least swap it for an app or the same or lower price.
If this is possible, is there like a time limit (e.g. 15 days) on how long you could keep the app before returning is not possible

I really doubt this would happen, I mean apple doesnt do this service for songs, you cant really ask to take a song back because you dont like it.
But then again there is usually previews for songs on itunes, but most good apps will have a demo app available for you to try before you buy.
I am 100% sure apple wont do any refunding on a app, unless its faulty.

App Store won't allow me to answer security Questions

I'm trying to buy/download the Textual app from the app store on my macbook air. When I click the buy app button, it asks me to log in twice, the second time saying i need to answer my 3 security questions. Once i sign in the second time, it gives me this screen:
As you can see, it doesn't actually SHOW me the 3 security questions, just a blank portion of the screen. And when clicking continue, it gives me the red box saying i didn't answer them.
Is there some cache I can clear to get these to show up?

2. Choose Contact Support and click Contact Us
3. Choose Other Apple ID Topics and choose the appropriate topic for your issue

1. apple id username, that is not locked or disabled.
2. serial number of an apple product registerd in your name
3. Billing info associated with your account
