App Store requires 10.9 but I cannot download Mavericks without the App Store.  HELP!

I did a fresh install of 10.6 and the upgrades got me to 10.6.8 but the included App Store from the upgrades requires 10.9.  I cannot download Mavericks without the App Store.  How do I find an old version of App Store or install Mavericks without the App Store?  HELP!

Click the Apple  top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click:  About This Mac
Double check to make sure you see: v10.6.8
Make sure your Mac can run Mavericks >  OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
Read prior to upgrading to Mavericks >  Upgrading to 10.7 and above, don't forget Rosetta!

i downloaded acdsee camera flash (us$0.99) in Hong Kong's app store, but i cannot find it in the app store after i changed to another iphone. it seems that the app is no longer available in HK, how can I get back the app?

First make sure you are searching the name correctly.
If the app is no longer in the App Store it is no longer available for download. This happens when Apple has found the app violates the agreement with the developer or when the developer no longer wants the app listed in the App Store.
If the app is truly no longer in the App Store your only option is to copy it from iTunes on the computer you normall sync with.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities,
I had a similar issue and it was an easy fix for me. First you need to log out of your account completely in the Mac App Store. Quit the application. Re-open the Mac App Store. Click log-in, enter your Apple-ID and password. Now when the screen pops-up that has all of your billing/credit card information on it DO NOT select done. Instead select View my Account, then select View hidden purchases. There you should be able to find iPhoto. Hope this helps if not let me know. I'm still searching solutions for you.

This same thing happend to me,  you have to make a new account and you have to chose your birthday as if your under 18 or 16,  because if you dont own a credit card,  you shouldnt be over this age,  so basictly just make a new email and appleID and when you chose your birthday,  do it under 16 years of age (or your REAL birthday) and you should have an option of clicking "none" for credit card options,  but if you want to buy something,  you will have to do the credit card stuff,  or you can just buy an apple gift card at basictly any store,  So this is how i fixed my problum,  i hope it works for you,  write back your responce of how it worked out please!

  • I am running OS X 10.7.5 on my MacBook Air, but I cannot download Mavericks. I tried downloading after a safe boot, but the progress bar hung up. Any other ideas?

I'm running OS X 10.7.5 on my MacBook Air, but I cannot download Mavericks. I've tried downloading after a safe boot, but the progress bar and the download hung up. Any ideas?

It can be a long download, so keep trying. My first download was at 3 am Cupertino time and took less than an hour. The second took close to three hours one evening.

MacBook Air 13" running 10.7.5 When I click to download Mavericks in the App Store, nothing happens.  What could be the solution?

There may be no progress bar apparent for Mavericks in the App Store. It may be a bug associated with this particular download.
To determine if it is actually downloading use Launchpad. You should see a fairly obvious new icon with an associated progress bar. Make sure you check every Launchpad page by swiping left / right.
If it's paused, click the icon to restart it.
Once it completes the icon will appear in Applications and Launchpad, it's just easier to find in Launchpad.
When it's finished downloading it looks like this:
If it really is not downloading read Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads
    Open the Mac App Store.
From the Store menu, choose Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Click Purchases to get to your Purchases Page.
Click the Resume button next to the app name.

  • How can I download Lion without the app store?

My friend bought his Macbook pro summer 2009 so whatever operating system that it came with (10.5 lepord I believe) did not download the app store when it updated. Now he wants to put lion on his macbook pro. Is there a way to download it without the app store? If not, how can he get the app store?
    Any help would be great!

Yes, you need to upgrade to Snow Leopard before upgrading to Lion. You can purchase Snow Lion from the online Apple Store, a brick-and-mortar Apple Store, or from Amazon.
Then you will have the App Store application and you can upgrade to Lion.

  • I have downloaded video in MP4 from my GoPro camera, but I cannot open and view the video.  Help please.

I have downloaded video from my GoPro helmet camera to my iPad 1 photos, but i cannot open and view the MP4 file.  Please help.

Yeah, just as said above, you need to convert it to iPad supported video formats first and then sync it back to the iPad.
Chek the iPad Supported Video and Audio Formats first.

  • I keep getting 'unknown error' after clicking 'install app' when trying to download Mavericks from the App store.

Trying to install Mavericks from the App store on my 2011 11" Macbook air, (wihch has more than 15GB free space).  After clicking 'Install App', and entering the Apple ID password, I get 'unkonwn error'.

You can't use Safari to download iPad apps. Only use iTunes/App Store.

  • I am purchasing a new 27" iMac. I want to continue using logic pro 9 on it but cannot download it from the app store. How do I put it on my new iMac?

I have a imac 21.5 " computer in my studio and want the larger screen of the 27". After I purchase it how do I install logic pro 9 on it when the application is no longer available on the app store?

You can transfer your software from your old computer to the new one by using Migration Assistant or read the alternative solutions by checking out Setting-up a new Mac from an old one, its Backups, or a PC.
If the above does not work out, read the response in this thread:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/23809547#23809547

  • I cannot download anythign from the app store or iTunes on my iPhone 5.

Two days ago I attempted to download an app from the app store and it was stuck on waiting, so I do what I usually do any delete the download to try again, still stuck on waiting so I try once more and now the "install app", "buy app", and " download cloud" buttons do not function. When I press them nothing happens at all no icon appears stuck on waiting, just nothing.
So last night when I got home I tried restoring my phone from a backup, I tried resetting all settings on the phone, I tried resetting all network settings, I tried signing out of my Apple ID rebooting the phone and signing back in, I tried deleting another app to see if the installer was stuck on something, I tried downloading some music (I'll get to that in a second) and none of that worked. I also attempted to change my iTunes region to Canada and then back to the US to see if it prompted for a Terms of Service renewal again.
With the music I just attempted to download an album and all of it in the songs in the iTunes downloads menu were stuck on "waiting", so I attempted to remove them from the queue, I was able to remove 3 of the songs and the rest I not cannot remove from the queue. When I swipe to delete them from the queue the delete button simply does not appear.
The only thing I so far have not tried is syncing the apps from my computer but I would rather it not come to that as I have two authenticators synced to my phone and iTunes will wipe all the apps from my phone which would be counter productive for me.
    Thanks for any help.

  • IDVD is not on my system and I cannot download it from the App store.  How Do I burn my home movies to DVD?

iDVD is not in my macBook pro and I need an iDVD or a good program to burn my home movies on DVD with menus. I cannot download iDVD or any other professional programs like DVD Studioor ... from App store. Please help me how do I burn my short films to DVD? Also please tell me any other free programs alternate it for burn DVD with putting menus.

    Hi
iDVD is not or never been free !
there are up-dates but still You need the original iDVD v. 7.x.x to use them.
Best of program - not sold by Apple any more but on Amazon or e-bay in boxed versions of iLife 11
If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
    • iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
    • DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
    • Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
    • Burn - only free alternative I know of on Internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD
    Burn http://www.digital-digest.com/software/Burn.html
only You can buy from Apple is
    • FinalCut Pro-X which also can burn to DVD but without any nice themes.
    AppleMan1958
You can also buy Compressor from Apple for $50 US. It will also create DVD and BluRay but without the nice themes.
