App Store saying there is a problem with a previous purchase but i havent bought anything
My AppStore and iTunes wont let me download anything as it is sayin there is a problem with a previous purchase. I havent bought anything & now cant download anything. Even free apps. Help?

You can contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department at no charge using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find an "Email Us" button) and explain your problem to them.

can't download anything from app store or itunes. everytime i try to install an app i get this error "there is a billing problem with a previous purchase. please update ur payment method". i have recently changed my visa debit card and home adress and when i make these changes i still get the same error.
will u please help me out?Are you listing the billing address for the card correctly? The address in the iTunes/MAS account must match the address on your bill exactly.

Why won't the App Store let me download things that are free, just because I don't have money on my card sometimes, it's free so I just don't get it??
You can try to make a new account on iTunes Store if you didnt have yet.
I had the same problem with iTunes Store, the only thing you can do is to put some money on that credit card you are using with you account. iTunes Store already keeping some money for the last purchase you made you can see all info on the Account option and then Purchase history ... -

That can mean that you have an outstanding balance in your account. Have you logged in and viewed your account?

These are user-to-user forums, nobody on here will know what the problem with the previous purchase might be.
Does the name and address on your credit card match exactly the name and address on your iTunes account, and have you checked with your card issuer to see if they are ones who are declining it ? When I log into my acc it ammediatly says there's a problem with my last purchase and to go to my purchase history to clear it. When I hit continue its suppose to take me to the history but it just loads then says cannot connect
the itunes says that it knows that there isan ipod there, but it doesnt recognize it. I have reset the ipod, restarted my computer, and reinstalled itunes.
Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components (Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, etc ...) and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

Just can't download apps or music or anything as it always says previous billing problem had this problem for a long time and I'm finally getting to the point of giving up on apple :( tried everything!! Please does anyone know what I need to do for it to work?

Sounds like you have a negitive balance from the last pourchase (you owe Apple money). Add a valid payment method to your account.
