App Store screen

My screen at the App Store froze yesterday when trying to install the genius section to it. I can use everything else on the iPad, except for now, I can not download any apps because of that frozen screen. Any suggestions or help?

First tap the grey area, which you probably already did. Next reset your iPad. Press and hold both on/off and home buttons for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons and wait till your iPad starts.

  • I updated my iPad 4 to ios 7.0 now app info sheet hangs up in App Store screen-pressing other functions at store doesn't work. Help!

I updated my iPad 4 to ios 7.0 and now app info sheet gets "stuck" in App store screen. When this occurs, selecting other functions (like Update,Purchased,
Search, etc.) does not help. Sometimes, opening Safari or maybe Google ( not sure about Google ) and going to a website gets rid of  the problem and
sometimes it doesn't. I forgot to mention that if I select a different app to look at (through Apps Gone Free,or Free App a Day,etc.,that app will show up
on top of the hung-up app and can be made to leave. However, the original app remains.Has this problem happened to anyone else, and was
there a remedy for it ? Also,is there a user who had this problem and then updated to 7.0.1 and had this annoyance go away ? If so, did your device
develop new difficulties because of this update ? Thanks.

Fully close the App Store App.  Double tap your home button which will bring the most recently used apps.  You'll see the app icon below and a screen shot of the open app page above.  With your finger, swipe the open app page upward and the app will close.  It's a good idea to regularly close apps when yout using them.
Tap your home button once to bring back your home screen.
App store should operate normally again when you open it.

  • App Store screen hung

I clicked on an app in the App Store. It's hung on the screen. Can't get the background App Store screen to respond.

First tap the grey area, which you probably already did. Next reset your iPad. Press and hold both on/off and home buttons for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons and wait till your iPad starts.

  • The app store screen is way off to the right and stuck with the spinning wheel. I can't close it. Should I force close? It said iPhoto did not update.

The App Store screen is way off to the right so I can't access it. It has the little spinning wheel I can see when I swipe up to see what's open. It won't close. Should I try to force it? How much more time should I give it? I did just give Google some accessibily access that it asked for. Just upgraded to Maverick. I thought everything was fine. Says iPhoto needs a retry; but I can't get to the screen to try again. Pages also says it has an update; but also says it just updated.

    Thank Carolyn,
I had tried that; but to restart it had to close, and to close it had to close the App Store, which was stuck. Finally did a force close. Am now trying to update iPhoto. We'll see if works this time.

  • TS1702 my apps store screen won't move off Newstand. I am unable to select any options eg; updates

My apps store screen seems to be frozen on Newstand.  I am unable to move from this section.  I an unable to select any other alternatives eg; when I select updates nothing happens. When I select select categories nothing happens.

Try closing the App Store app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the App Store 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • TS3274 my app store screen is locked up

why is my app store screen locking up on my i pad 2?

Try closing the App Store app via the taskbar and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the App Store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Stor app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My new ipad app store screen shows blank screen. how to resolve this?

my app store screen gone blank

Quit the app store app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or try this as well. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Sign in to download from the App Store screen has the wrong Apple ID- grayed out. How can I change it?

When I have a software update notification and I go to the 'Updates" tab of the App Store and click 'update',  the flash screen 'Sign in to download from the App Store comes up the the Apple ID is wrong and grayed out so I can't change it.  Where is the bogus Apple ID stored? How can I 'ungray' it to make it editable?
I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4 on an IMAC 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • Mac app store screen showing wrong currency

Mac app store not working.  Software update will not work either.
    Various issues.
    1. Cannot Sign in to Apple Store - just spins.
    2. Software update gives me 2 diff screens depending on its mood.
         a. Black screen, One Moment Please , connecting to ITunes Store..... Loading.....
         b. Store not available right now.
    3. If i click on Categories, it takes me to more like a web site rather than what the app store used to look like.  Any app that I click on still shows a button to "View in Mac App Store".  uh duh, that is where I was.....    And the price is in Euros, rather than USD.
Please note, when I open itunes and view my account it is all correct and everything is in correct currency. $$$$
This has gone on for over a month.
Also note, I manually downloaded and installed the Mac OSX Mountain Lion update 10.8.2  and the latest iTunes. (since it was not working thru software update).
I deleted the apple.appstore.plist as well. a number of times. emptied trash, rebooted, yada yada yada.

    -  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
    -  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent access to the App Store.
    -  Check the round flag icon bottom right corner of the App Store window to make sure you have the correct country selected.
    -  Make sure you are using the correct Apple ID.
There's more than one .plist file for the App Store...
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/LIbrary/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go then move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Try the App Store.
